Hatcheries are production facilities for zerg. From your question i get it that you dont play zerg. Go play it against AI for testing purposes and try to spend all your money without getting a second hatchery. Then compare your minerals and supply to a terran. You will float minerals and you will be behind in supply pretty fast. Zerg cant spend all his minerals with only one hatchery, there is nothing else to build for zerg, therefore they get the hatchery at the expansion. Just to give you some numbers: 16 workers are enough in order to build non stop zerglings from 2 hatcheries with 2 queens (and perfect larva inject). The same is true for building drones, as they obviously cost the same amount of minerals. If zerg doesnt get a second hatchery before 20 supply, they fall behind in supply extremely fast. Just try playing zerg before you rage. | ||
