This extended series rule makes absolutely no sense, especially in this scenario. Basically, they're playing a BO7 for the finals, except MVP was given a free series loss earlier in the tourney whereas MMA made it through unscathed. MMA's reward for running the winner's bracket amounts to absolutely NOTHING in this scenario.

They're playing a BO3, if MMA wins it's over, MVP has to win to continue.
It's similar to the reward of getting through from winners final>grand final.

I mean who REALLY wants to watch 2x BO5 or 2xBO7 in grand finals?

so basically if I understand this right

if MMA won "the first bo3" it would have been over, but since MVP won this turned into a bo7 with the score from the bo3?

I guess this is because they haven't meet before if they did it would just have been a "normal" extended series?

Would it also work like this if it happened in a finals of a MLG?
