5gate Warpgate Pressure has probe production behind it and hits a bit later. MKP wasn't building Probes, by the end of it when MKP had MMA down to 1 Ghost and 3 Marines he still only had 37 Probes...He had something like 12 Stalkers and a bunch of Zealots but chose to back out for fun

The very build MKP did was THE text book definition of a 6gate all-in

Well I'm high level masters protoss and although I wasn't vigorously checking his probe count every second, it didn't look like an all-in to me.

And looking back on your posts on this thread, all of them are bashing MKP so I guess it doesnt really matter, you're just looking for an excuse to hate on MKP.

Really, if you really are a "High Masters Protoss" then you should know that was a 38 Probe 6gate all-in (except with 37 Probes)...you can literally google the very build MKP did :o

Check the vods, when MKP backed out he was on 37 Probes, I checked because I wanted to see if MMA could come back 0o

I only made 4 Posts about MKP before this and the worst I said was "lol MKP could lose this"..yeah clearly hating him /rollseyes

Yeah, Dommk, you were definitely wrong. Only 5 gates were made, and MKP had 38 probes. Wolf even said it was a 5 gate right as MKP was moving into MMA's natural.

When I checked he had 37 Probes, guess he must have lost the one at his natural. But 38 Probes is the "all-in" version of a 2baes build for Protoss.

Just enough Probes to mine from 2 bases and efficiently from both mineral patches, no more no less

5gates or 6gates is just personal preference. Some like 6, others do 5, it all just depends on how much resources you want to let build up

Please stop calling it an all-in. In most cases people spout the word "all-in" all the time when its entirely not appropriate. 6pool is an all in, 2 proxy gate is an all in, pulling all your SCV's is an all in.

A 5gate is an aggressive build yes, but its not an all-in, it depends entirely on the player how much to commit, and even if you just poke and never attack with it and do absolutely no damage you are not terribly behind. A small disadvantage, yes but its hardly all-in you attack or you lose ffs. At the rate things are going soon any attack before 4 bases will be called an all in.

It is an all-in because if you don't do a lot of damage then you fall really far behind as you are only working off two gases. You don't have the gas to tech and build an army.

Against fast ghosts it absolutely has to do a TON of damage, because there is no way in hell you can defend an incoming push. Fast Ghost/Medviac is considered the counter to 5/6gate, MMA was playing just a little to greedy

Its not an all in its a timing attack ffs. Yes you are at a disadvantage because you cut econ. But you have not lost, and its entirely possible to outplay your opponent and still win.

It is a timing attack in the same way a 1-1-1 all-in is a "timing attack", in most cases even if the Protoss defends it you still have done enough damage to be in the game.

I added in why it is considered "more" all-in these days. Fast Ghost/Medivacs crush it because you have to do a LOT of damage to not die to a counter push

1-1-1 is only an all-in if you pull all your scvs. An all in is when there is NO recovery after the attack. In essence if the chances are 99% the game is going to end right now its an all in. Unless SCVs are pulled or protoss has been on 2base for a long time 1-1-1 is not an all in, often players will just bunker and try contain the protoss. Hell you can even turn around and go back home if you don't bring scvs, if the protoss is still on 1 base your expand timings will be the same.
