I have some questions.

1. Does the team captain have to play on his team?

2. The team captain can use anyone for his 4v4 team and switch up his line-up between rounds? What about between games in a Best of series?

To clarify with example, let's say I am W, and I manage Clan X. We have 8 players, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H.

W signs up as team captain. Does W have to play on his team, or can his team be A, B, C, D?

For round 1, he sends in A, B, C, D. For round 2, he can switch it up and send in F, G, C, D, right? And so on?

Same question for between games in a BoX series.

Because from this rule:

If players are missing, the team without 4 players has two options:

1. Five minutes to find a replacement player in #TLOpen

It sounds like we can use whoever we want for our team regardless of who played in it in previous rounds, with the exception that we cannot use players who are on other teams at the moment.

Also, it isn't clear whether the team captain must play on his team.

Thanks!

First, it says 12pm for anyone logged into the time feature, and you can click to reveal this.

Second, if you can't tell what it is right now, how does changing it to 11:59 or 12:01 help?

Third, do you really think we'd start a tournament at midnight EDT for North America? Common sense??

Typically I don't warn or ban for genuinely asking for information but your question is so beyond stupid that I can't help but do it.

yes, it still completely makes sense when people wants to start a competition over the night, starting from 23:59 Saturday to the dawn when most people is going to get a off on Sundays. there have been lan parties going through midnight and starting competitions late in the night or the nerd hours. Having times like 23:59, 11:59, 12:01 p.m. would of course put away this kind of ambiguity. 12:00 a.m. indicates nothing and it would be well improved by saying noon or midnight.

While computers and digital clocks display "12:00 a.m." and "12:00 p.m.", those notations provide no clear and unambiguous way to distinguish between midnight and noon. It is actually improper to use "a.m." and "p.m." when referring to 12:00. The abbreviation a.m. stands for ante meridiem or before noon and p.m. stands for post meridiem or after noon. Since noon is neither after noon nor before noon, and midnight can equally be twelve hours before and after noon, neither abbreviation is correct (although the length of the error is determined by the smallest unit of time — 12:00:01 p.m. would be correctly notated).

The most common ways to represent these times are, (a) to use a 24-hour clock (00:00 and 12:00, 24:00), (b) to use "12 noon" or "12 midnight", although unless the person is referring to a general time and not a specific day, "12 midnight" is still ambiguous, (c) to specify the time between two successive days or dates (Midnight Saturday/Sunday or Midnight December 14/15), and (d) to use "12:01 a.m." or "11:59 p.m." This final usage is common in the travel industry, especially train and plane schedules, to avoid confusion as to passengers' schedules.[2]

from the wikipedia.

surprisingly disappointing. even if it is unlikely to happen, there is still a chance to happen. thats why a clear use of words and definition is important.

also from wikipedia:
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (Fourth Edition, 2000) has a similar usage note on this topic: "Strictly speaking, 12 a.m. denotes midnight, and 12 p.m. denotes noon, but there is sufficient confusion over these uses to make it advisable to use 12 noon and 12 midnight where clarity is required."[14]

lawyered.

ps: advisable =/= necessary. when dealing with the general population then sure, but when trying to deal with intelligent people then 12pm is acceptable

Starts 18.00 CEST.

I don´t understand why the 12h clock is still in use, it´s an outdated system.

Hoping for a few macro games in-between the rushes. The synergy between races will be more interesting with all races there, so we can see a Hydra+Medivac+Mothership+Voidray combination.

Let's take a look at the evidence:

1. It says 12pm
2. Tournaments don't start at midnight
3. Every TL Open, all 23 of them, have been in the afternoon

Yet you still feel it is necessary to complain about the time wording being confusing.

Its interesting that as of the time when I made this post, there doesn't seem to be a single korean captain listed as registered. The vast majority of the captains is predominantly North American. Note that this may change and this information listed in this paragraph may become irrelevant.

I would love to see a professional team sign up for this and show their stuff in 4v4... and better yet know if the micro/macro abilities of such players in 1v1 will make a huge difference in a team-based format... especially the madness you see in 4v4.... there is still time left for some1 from EG to join.
