MVP, July, HuK or Genius to win this championship.

Cheering for July. No ZvZ = July might win. Also no MC .
I had a good night of sleep.

Wow are these people trolling or what.

When is a 4rax considered 111. I wonder if the majority of the other toss have a clue about what 111 is when I read these posts. I want 111 "fixed" in some way either thru metagame or balance change but wtf 4rax = 111? REALLY?

Well, the players everyone wants to see in the finals are being knocked out while Terran overall continues to dominate.

Just another day at the GSL really.

8 out of 16 players advance.

2 out of 4 Protosses advanced (2 out of 3 against Terran).
1 out of 2 Zergs advanced (0 out of 1 against Terran).
5 out of 10 Terran players advanced.

Point out the 'continued' domination please.

Are you "really" counting Terrans losing in a MIRROR match? Ok, that's it for now, I can only handle so much stupidity on one day...

What?

All non TvT results add up to 50% as there were no mirror matches besides TvT.

And you call me stupid for that?

Count carefully...T won 3 games out of 5 in TvZ/P

yes I do - because a huge portion of NON-terrans never even reached Ro16.

Let's supposed for one moment that Ro16 would've consisted of 15 terrans and one protoss. Then the one protoss wins his match. Cool, in 8 out of 8 matches a terran player loses and all non TvT results add up to 100% wins for the non terran player - not so bad apparently.

Anyways, still have to get some work done...

That is not what you said.

And yes, if there were only 1 Terran in the Ro16 then 1 advancing would be a great result for Terran in the Ro16.

What would have been an indication of balance in the Ro16 in your mind? All non Terrans winning their games so it would even out the higher number of Terrans at the start of the competition? That's absurd.

In the Ro16, each race won 50% of their matches. Period. Over the last two days of competition no race has dominated in results.

w00t, I'm so happy with today's results!
At first I thought I wouldn't cheer for HuK 'cause his move to EG, but I just couldn't help to cheer for him and I'm glad he advanced.
And July! Yeeees, I'm so happy he make it to Ro8! Keep Fighting!

The reason people love July (at least for me) is because he makes the game do what he wants, either he destroys you, or he destroys himself. He plays the opponent, making you do what he wants and daring you to defy him. He lives on the edge more than almost any other sc2 progamer which is incredibly exciting to watch and through sheer skill manages to not fall over it more often than not.

There is almost noone out there who can come close to playing like he does.

Way to overreact, especially if you are referring to my post. It was a mistake, told you that i might miss something and honestly i didn't remember how the 3rd game went. Calm the fuck down.

i dont want to say anything about dominance, but you shouldnt bend stats in this forum like that!

for example imagine 16toss in the ro16: 8 out of 16 advance
also, there are 3 zergs and only 9 terrans what means:

5 out of possible 7 terran advance with 2 mirrors

Hoping for an Optimus or July win this season. Strongest contender now is MVP though but Optimus, I'm pretty sure, will make the finals.

I think July will win this GSL, his pure talent is above all the others still in this GSL. Sure, he is old, but Watermelon Zerg haven't vaned yet.

Hm.. yes, however the race losing that extra against T then won against the other race to even out the number that advanced. Hard to achieve an even split with 5 matches.

3 out of 5? It's almost like their chances of winning are 50% and the discrete nature of win/loss numbers in a match of starcraft forced the eventual number in a very small sample set to land on the higher side! Call David Kim -- NERF STATISTICS T.T

it just shows that the raw numbers dont explain anything. in mirrors its always 50%
and looking at the brackets, it shows 3zergs and 9terrans in ro16

It's amazing how Terran win ratios in the GSL always tend to land on the "higher side". And that's with reasonably large samples from a whole month of Code A/S and GSTL.

I think an Optimus - MVP final is the most likely scenario, with July the only one capable of upsetting this balance of power atm. If he cheeses MVP out again i'll be mad, but i doubt he can achieve that in a BO5. In fact, i'm gonna go as far as to say that MVP won't lose another game until the finals. Clean 2-0 vs HuK (not sure if RO8 is bo3 or bo5) and 3-0 vs July.

I wasn't saying anything about balance at all. Just purely pointing out the logic flaws in the little math game ppl are playing here.

OH i see it was a spacing issue. i thought the middle 2 sentences were related. so i thought he was saying: "imagine there are 16 toss in the ro16, obviously 8 advance. but now imagine there are 3 zergs and 9 terrans and not 16 toss" and it made no sense at all to me. -_-
