Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you. |

I think I'm the only person kinda sick of seeing Koreans dominate everything. Can we grab all Code A guys next time? I'm sure Puzzle would love the chance to test his skill out against foreigners. Puzzle is Code S?? And what difference would Code A players make? Code B players were sweeping the tournament. Puzzle was Code A at least. What Code B players were there except DRG? And wasn't everyone saying he belongs in Code S anyway?
MMA and Boxer are both in code B (well MMA is code S now).

That's the reason why he's always last in the GSTL and that's probably the reason why we'll never see him at an MLG. He doesn't have the stamina to compete in one of these weekend-long tournaments. NesTea is brought out last in GSTL because he's the team ace and Korean teams traditionally save their ace for last. DRG is always the last one that Mvp brings out, but not because he has stamina issues. Edit: MC came out first for oGs in a recent GSTL, but only because he specifically requested to (I think he wanted to go for an all-kill). The thing is, NesTea has been shown to underperform if his condition isn't great; he even admits this in interviews*. I really don't think he'd do well in a MLG-style tournament, partly because of this and also because he can't really prepare individually for all his opponents. He's perfect for the GSL, but I doubt he'd perform as well as he does in the GSL if he goes to an MLG.
Besides, he always prioritizes the GSL before MLG. Smart move, IMHO. MC has stated he falls behind by a week every time he goes to a foreign tournament. NesTea really gains nothing from going to an MLG.
*He said he lost to TOP because he basically didn't get enough sleep.

5 played 6 and 7 played 8.
Nani forfeited to Huk, so they got 8th/7th respectively.

There are probably over 100 koreans that could challenge for the mlg champion place if it was worth it. None of them come out without the exchange program or sponsors because it's such a small amount of money. It is a season of tournaments. The finals in Providence has 50k for first place. Also, some teams make enough off of sponsorships to make the flight worthwhile even if the cost exceeds the expected purse. Slayers brought 4 players and probably managed to make a profit out of the deal even without prize money factored in because their sponsors want the exposure in a major televised event. I think a lot of teams that aren't able to afford to send out their top tier players to such events may be suffering from poor management on the business end where they're having a tough time hunting down sponsors who would pay for exposure at such events.
Yeah the prizemoney Slayers won is all profit. Boxer and MMA had their flights paid for by the GSL-MLG exchange program and Razer paid for Ganzi's and Alicia's flight. Dunno about Slayers_Jessica but considering she was a semi-famous actress she can probably afford the plane ticket anyways.

Something tells me Boxer-DRG are better than Code B. Shame they're not in S.
Ehh, I think it would just be nice to get some of the lesser known Code A players out. Its great that we're inviting some of the best players from Korea, but no one can keep up with them. Huk and Nani being the last foreigner hope only to get shot down 2-0 for both of them by Ganzi/MMA shows how much of a skill gap there is between foreigners+Koreans.
