Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you.

I don't believe DRG can win Code S anymore ;p. He just got completly outclassed in the two straight-up games.

ZvT noone can take MVP. Well, July but he caught MVP off guard and thats not gonna happen again. MVP smashes Nestea. MVP single handedly raped the whole all star Zerg lineup in the all-star race battles.

July played smart. MVP would have lost both games he won if DRG simply went for a Baneling Bust. He made almost no units until he had Hellions out and FEd in both games.

July's been losing vs Terran lately too, because he stopped playing as aggressive as he used to. I think it's time for Zergs to start going for Baneling Busts again so Terran can't play so greedy.

yeah when I saw DRG with the early Bling nest I thought he'd win for sure, only 8 marines out.

False. MMA/BoxeR/DRG/MVP can't be awarded a Code A spot because they entered MLG through GSL player exchange, rest of the koreans can. That means GanZi has secured a Code A spot already. Also, currently MMA/GanZi/DRG/BoxeR are the candidates for the Code S spot.

Technically Rain is also a candidate for the code S reward. He would need to get through Ganzi, the winner of DRG vs MMA, the loser of MVP vs Boxer, and the winner of MVP vs Boxer.

Rain is suspended from GSL for 2 seasons though so...

We had Alicia as well, (taken out by ToD twice ;P

Taken out in PvP, first game by a four gate defense and second game by a hidden nexus. Then he lost because of extended series rule where he won 2-1, but that just made the score 3-2 and ToD won the next game. If someone winning a PvP is your argument that the gap isn't widening, I don't know what to tell you.

So let's see who will take the Code A spots:

- Ganzi (Non Korean-invite. Lives in Korea. Yep, 100%)
- Sjow, Slush, Ret, Idra (Can only see Sjow taking it)
- Haypro, Socke, Sheth, Kiwikai (No on Haypro and Sheth. Maybe Socke and Kiwi?)
- Cruncher, TLO, Select, Moonan (Yes on Moonan and maybe Select as well)

So probably Ganzi, Moonan, and one of Sjow/Socke/Kiwi/Select.

But Ganzi isn't eligible I think ?

He was not invited so he is.

I'm not sure. I thought they did this so that more foreigners would be in the GSL. Why would they let him win a spot through ML:G when he can try for a spot by going through the nearly impossible code A qualifiers?

top 7 all korean trained. LOL

wait you mean practicing a lot with really good players means you will place high in tournaments?
THIS IS CRAZY

This.

I really wish people would stop acting like Korea is some magical land that pumps out talented players. You don't need to go to Korea to train and get better. All it is is diligent, smart practice and discussion. Not 3 hours a day, 1/3 of which is streaming ladder games. The notion that "it's all because of Korean training," is absurd. That kind of work/training ethic can be applied anywhere.

I agree the foreign scene is very capable of creating circumstances that produce players that can challenge Koreans, but the Korean pro gaming scene is firmly established, has been for years, and they have created a climate that supports producing THE BEST pro gamers possible.

From coaches, to players, to sponsors, to television, the foreign scene will not create what the Koreans have quickly. It will likely take years.

There is no substitute to practicing and training in Korea. A NA or Euro pro house will improve, but not at the pace they would in Korea. Thats just a fact. You will improve faster playing against the best players, and clearly right now, they are in Korea.

Homestory Cup 3?

Dreamhack Summer 10?

Jetlag?

Both won by HuK, who flew from... Oh yeah, Korea.

He had an extremely lucky path through Dreamhack though. Would've gone quite different if he was facing Bomber instead of Moon, and even then Huk played kind of bad in the finals and just died when he didn't have Moon do retarded all-ins.

Get out with your logic and thinking

People still calling Moon bad again its like Rain this tournament, some players are always bad no matter what it seems.

Um, who said anything about Moon being bad. I said he won the straight up games and lost when he all-inned stupidly, and I doubt anyone thinks that Moon is better versus P than Bomber.
Seemed to me what you were inferring, would you bet all your belongings on Bomber doing better versus huk in one matchup because i sure wouldnt its never that simple and you can only beat who faces you theres no point doing what if rubbish

True, this crowd is a bit lack-luster. Columbus crowd was about half the size, yet cheered their asses off.

Yeah the Columbus crowd made it much more hype.

They said that the crowd here is actually louder, but that the mics don't pick it up or some shit

At colombus the crowd would cheer for every little probe kill or other insignificant things, we can hear the crowd they just don't seem as active to some people. Hearing a boxer chant is always cool though .

Nothing matched that MMA chant when he took the tourney though. There's still time, I'll be crying if DRG comes back to win this.

Does DRG have to meet MVP again if MVP loses to boxer?

Yes, no matter what happens DRG will have to beat MVP in an extended series in one of the matches.
