This might be a really bad idea, but wouldn't that hellion opening get dominated by a baneling bust? The only things keeping the Terran alive is his wall in and if you baneling busted it, it seems like the Terran wouldn't have enough marines to hold it off.

That's like saying "oh, my favorite player didn't take a fast enough third base or he would have won, the other person was just lucky". No, the other person won by capitalizing on the other person's failures. There is a winner and a loser, Rain was clearly the victor. But anyone who harasses Ret before the 20 minute mark while Ret makes nonstop drones and has about 4 lings 10 minutes into the game doesn't deserve a victory.

That's not quite what he said. Looking at the winner / loser is an incredibly simplistic way to look at how a game could have potentially turned out, which is the whole point of what he is talking about.

I didn't watch the game but it sounds like Ret made an obvious yet small mistake after scouting Rain's build, whereas, avoiding that, he would have been in a good position to win. Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong though, I'm just going off of secondhand information. It would be like if you nuked your own army after being 40 supply up and lost the game - would you still be saying "hey, guys, c'mon there is a winner and a loser the winner clearly deserved the win"? I mean at some point you have to say, okay this guy was in a good position to win but he really botched it in a way that normally he doesn't allow to happen.

If it was one BFH attack I might agree with you, but Rain went in like 5 times. After the first or second you should get some better defense.

Well, yeah, but that kind of goes back to the point of Ret losing the game for himself doesn't it? Or are people thinking that the decision from Rain to come back with hellions a 4th and 5th time was intelligent play? Don't mean to sound demeaning, legitimately wondering

After that Rain let his natural get devastated for absolutely no reason.

Man this sounds like a fun game... I need to watch it after some of the others lol

MMA and Boxer both had a decent number of marine/hellions to hold it off in their mains, I doubt the T is going to his base, think "oh hey there isn't anything here" and not do anything.

It's pretty clear SC2 was meant to be Xel'nagaCraft.
