To everyone who claims that being 30 somehow ruins your motor skills etc.
Both players are freakishly fast and accurate yet both are over 40.
Pointing out a few examples is not how to properly argue something.
Especially when, in BW, it is widely known that players can't legitimately compete anymore after a certain age.
So in order to refute an anecdote you present one of your own, only with less evidence. /facepalm
You can look at TLPD for evidence. There has been only a few progamers who have been able to compete at that age.
That doesn't necessarily mean they get worse, it might just mean they stop practicing as much because they stop caring. Correlation =/= Causation.
It is a combination of getting worse and younger players being better. There is mechanical deterioration for people who have progamers for a long period of time. That is a fact.

not really, oldest MSL/OSL winner was 22 i think.
That ignores the fact that the growth of any body, be it human, dog, bird, lasagna, water, or fast food chains, is not something to which we can apply an absolute standard.
Some people may as well be Benjamin Button, whereas others will follow more common paths. That's still not to say that you cannot say it's uncommon for players to lose motor skills at the age of 20-whatever, but you cannot therefore say it applies to everybody.
Also, I believe it's not so much about age as it is the normalization of an outlier in terms of player success

ROFL oh my.... what the hell is wrong with you?
my point of view is different to yours
I agree with your viewpoint, and would rather see those types of manners in games but all the time towards everyone just seems very forced. I would rather see more sincere manners then forced manner from Incontrol.
He has been doing this in tournaments forever. There is nothing forced about. You just don't understand incontrol, which is very common around here and reddit
That is why I say it is forced when he does it all the time. Also the funny thing you mentioned reddit because there is a post about him with the incontrol/sundance issue.
So wait is it also forced when Sheth does it
e: and I'm stunned people are trying to claim saying "you are amazing" to BOXER could possibly be forced
Well Sheth doesn't shit on people and then try to make up for it with fake gm at the end of broadcasted tourney games.
This basicly..Does Sheth have a history of being overly nice then just shit on people? No. Also I said earlier that the manner from playing boxer is probably not forced because after all it is boxer.

him playing is basically the equivalent if bill russell was still playing in the nba and beating younger players (not to mention while dealing with a shoulder injury)
The age thing is a load of bullshit, you don't really become worse at video games when you age. You just get responsibilities, lose motivation etc and practice less.
The injury is a legitimate mitigating factor for him though, obviously.
You don't get worse at video games but your concentration, reaction time, and the muscle fibers to preform some actions wear down.
It's not bullshit.
Yeah, all that happens when you turn like 80. 30 years old is fucking young, dude.
Actually, some parts of your cognitive ability start declining at the age of 25
Videogames use a very small amount of mental ability, regardless of how difficult it may seem
the difference is negligible.
Do you mean physical ability? High level StarCraft is all about mind games and thinking. I'm fairly certain that it requires you to be intelligent and constantly alert.
Also MLG's system is so stupid, can't believe White-Ra missed his match, I know that things like that have angered a lot of pros like ThorZaIN and MorroW.
nope, I mean mental activity. Being a progamer is about constant practice and most of it is just reacting to situations you have already seen.
the brain is very inactive when playing videogames
Thiis last commentis sooooo stupid lol
lol? there is empirical evidence of the brain being inactive during videogames
please don't talk if you're clueless
I'm pretty sure that study was done during a CoD playtest.
