It's similar to what ZeNEXLine did in the super tournament. Ling/muta works when the terran goes for heavy seige tank+extra thor play with less marines, not when he has like 2 tanks and 40 marines.

Totally deserved though =) you're talking about the Qualifers that have been shown for the past few weeks. this is the main event. the first season's main event had 10-15k viewers ;]

The IPL has gone down in quality, at least during this first day. I have not been able to watch today live, so I got on wanting to watch the VODs. I go to the main page, and when you click on the image that says 'up coming match Idra vs Drewbie' you're taken to a page that has the results. WTF? The vods are buried in there. I got to see 2 of the games, but trying to go to the third ends up with nothing loading. The stream is very laggy. Some times it says its buffering, other times it just stops. I can't pause and see a buffering progress bar. Why was this player used? Its almost as bad as MLG or GOMTVs players. YOU DON'T NEED CUSTOM PLAYERS. And if you're going to use a horrible custom player, at least try and hide the length of the match. Not being able to see the food count for both competitors is a big mistake, and one I don't understand being allowed to happen in a league who has already completed one season and which has many former players and PROFESSIONAL CASTERS working for them. The new graphic design is not good. It is bad. You should have stuck with the season 1 look and not this. Dual casting is amazing. That is pretty much the only positive I have. IPL has failed to improve and has actually regressed this season (so far, its day 1 but this isnt live, its all been completed) ^they are available, you just have to click on the won/lost graphics to watch them, and they may or may not include all of the games in the match.

AFAIK from watching Vibe's stream, the basis of the ling muta is precisely when the terran is on tank marine, you engage with lings to make the tanks splash the marines, and as soon as all your lings are dead you pull back the mutas, only when the terran starts making thors does he begin making banelings as high tank counts just demolish banelings. His play in today's games was far from his best showing IMO, but these games were played however far in advance so maybe it wasn't as refined.

Oh I didn't mean to say that ling/muta is bad all the time. My point was simply in that one specific scenario ling/muta was bad b/c the terran didn't have hardly any tanks, so he wouldn't have lost hardly any banes to tank fire. ESPECIALLY because there were no thors. I mean if he had just made 12 banes and 3 less mutas he would have won the game 10 mins sooner.

IPL Season 1 was produced entirely by WellPlayed, whereas Season 2 was produced by IGN's own team. I think it's obvious which group can do the better job, and I'm left wondering why WellPlayed isn't on board for this season.

Don't get me wrong Vibe is a great player and I'll be rooting for him but Tarson has been playing well and the poll backs me up. Minigun over Diestar was also apparently an upset according to the poll, but personally not for me.

Taking down Idra is only as good as his mindset that day... and he just came off an annoying loss to Huk. He was very tilted. I think Tarson got off with a win he probably didn't deserve... but he did play the mind games correctly. 1-basing against a tilted opponent = smart. I also think the production quality has gone down quite a bit. IT's a lot darker. The game sounds are very low. We can't see the supply of both players which is a big no-no. The graphics on screen are less professional looking than season 1. They got a little too cute with it. The overlay is huuuuuge. Anyways, I think the play will get better once we hit the RO32\16. Remember, any player on a good day can break through the qualifiers. The GSL open tournaments had terrible games in the RO64 because bad players snuck through easy qualifying brackets.

I don't think all inning 2 games can show a persons actual skill, at most it demonstrate his ability to execute an all in build and have the sufficient micro to execute it well enough, though Tarson was doing well in HSC, beating Thorzain, etc getting deep in the tournament and taking a game off MC, but using the Tarson Idra game as reference is a bit pointless.

Drewbie and IdrA actually had a fairly close head-to-head in the past, I think it was 5-4. I think it's like 9-5 after this match. When either of them loses though, it really seems like it's because of dumb shit that could have been avoided or mitigated.
