I played in competo cup today for the first time and I think it was one of the worst organised cups. There were no admin's id on the tournament page. On irc for a long time there were no admins. People had many problems with no shows and they couldn't do anything for 1h. Never gonna play in competo again

Wow, just from reading the chatlog, this tournament looks really badly organized. There was no attempt to check either player's story - if a player requests a freewin the least the admins have to do is to go on bnet and check what games they are playing. If they can't do that for the RO16 at least, it seems like they're not really trying.

I moderated a tournament once (going thru player history etc seemed like the least i could do), so this just disgusts me. How people can put on a facade of community and then fuck people over like they did.

You have to realize that most smaller tournaments try to rectify these mistakes. There are so many little tournaments going on at any one time that everyone really has to do their best with the structure / implementation of smaller tournaments.

This is just a slap in the face to the players, and to the fans of the game. You can say "it was just that admin's fault," but it is the obligation of the host to hire staff, and the obligation of the staff to not allow such incompetence.

That admin (and any silent / obviously afk admins in that channel) do not deserve to represent a tournament of any caliber, if this is how they treat the players that make their tournament exist.

The admin's been a huge dickhead, but you're not a tiny bit better, acting like you do now. Flaming the people trying to help you is not gonna get you anywhere.

I feel the same way. This tournament seems quite unorganized, but I also think that small tournaments sometimes dont have enough admins to check everything, so reporting "false w.o." screws them over even more.

Absolutely disgusting on the admins part. I fully understand where the OP is coming from, there was no logic to the decision and if the admin awarded a free win, how can they remove it and give another free win to the other player when the guy has already won his next round.

Least the tournament should do is apologize if not more (aka remove that admin for lack of discretion and lack of ability to be fair).

Who are you, exactly? Do you seriously think he protested being thrown out of tournament, after moving into the semi-finals, with the clear permission of an admin representing said tournament, because he wanted attention and pity?

I highly doubt you would have taken wrongful disqualification in-stride as you expect the OP to do. It's not about "growing up". It's about the fact that this situation was clearly mishandled. The admins made a mistake, and rather than admitting their mistake, offering the OP an explanation or any type of resolution at all, they THREW HIM OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT. You think the only people who would be upset by this are the immature?

Sure, you could argue the OP could have conducted himself differently, but accusing him of wanting attention and pity is a completely unwarranted and baseless claim.

The chat logs are ridiculous lol. You definitely deserved that win. Toxiii was over 30 minutes late because he played a 39 minute game in a different tourny. That means both his tourny games started at the same time. This is why you don't play two tournaments on the same day at the same time. Tournament admins responded terribly. Hope they get new admins after this incident.

While i sympathize that you were awarded a walkover and then asked to replay it later on is stupid. People like you, that constantly spam chat, i have absolutely no respect for. There was never a point anywhere, whether it be in your posts here, or your IRC comments that showed any sign of maturity at all. You can see what i mean, check the timestamps on all the posts in this thread, there are a few in a row that were 5-6 minutes apart. In the IRC chat, you posted at 22:03 10 messages, 7 of them were just saying "ADMIN". Just edit your damned post and be mature. To be honest, you will find alot more people that are willing to take you seriously if you act mature about things like that. However if you act like a whiny 15 year old kid, nobody will care. Stop spamming in IRC, Stop spamming on forums. Articulate your posts and/or messages with some thought and maturity, THEN, and only then, post them.

I apologise if i come off as an ass, but thats just my opinion. Respect goes a long way.

I would like to say though, thank you for posting in this thread, especially with a chatlog to show people what had happened instead of pointing a finger without any kind of proof. (albeit, if i were you i would have calmed down quite a bit and actually thought about what i was saying and not spamming... People are more likely to take you seriously and not treat you like a kid.)
