I'd really love to see how the people calling Fresh immature would act in the same situation.
Clearly being cheated out of possible money and time, they would sit down and have a mature discussion with all the involved parties. Tea and biscuits would be included of course because of their maturity.

If you read the topic through you actually will see that Fresh admitted acting immaturely, saying his age is indeed a factor in how he handled all this. His 'mature' followup was that he would try to learn to handle these kinds of situations more appropriate.
Ahwell, no news till some CC-admins stroll around here dignifying 45k topicviews with their side of the story.

It's always sad to see things like this occurring, I think it's actually worse in small tournaments like this, as it can put off amateur gamers who may otherwise have gone on to be great pros.

This is ridiculous. That's one of the reasons I don't watch all those poor tournaments like competo or go4sc2.

Hm, never really watched any of these small tournaments, but now I know that this Competo Cup is completely unorganized and full of ignorant admins. Sympathies to Fresh.

I've read this entire thread, and in conclusion, people sure do like to post when they haven't bothered to read the whole story. Anyone with any great amount of sympathy or anger for anyone of the main players in the little tale (Fresh/Toxi/The Admin) please re read the thread and try to maintain an objective perspective. You'll probably find that none of our aforementioned characters came off as very amicable in this particular scenario. In the long run what happened doesn't really matter that much and was almost entirely the result of bad organization, and bad communication from all parties.
Also for anyone who still thinks otherwise the admin was not Toxi's girlfriend(nor probably a girl), reading comprehension folks, it's a useful skill toi have.

this thread and its contents (including endrey quitting - reasonable decision) might singlehandedly kill the tournament (not mentioning all the work that the admins and the other people involved spent to make it worse).
funny :>

This has obviously struck a collective nerve in TL, people care more than one would expect about stories like this; IMO caring a lot that rules are followed fairly and strictly is part of the makeup of a TL member, and may also go hand-in-hand with being an RTS gamer. If no one official is going to say anything about this situation, then the tournament ending might not be inappropriate.

yes, without a doubt. competo really should act soon or they will always be known as INCOMPETENTO CUP. and nobody wants that, i assume...

go4sc2 puts out great cups and has a very high skill level, they put a lot more money and time into their productions.

i dont think you are off base with this at all.
in fact, it is even more frustrating now that the actual competo thread has been bumped with links to this thread and questions about a response. it seems they arent simply ignoring this thread but ignoring the situation while being completely aware of the community outcry and general beating they are taking.
|
The lack of response from Competo shows that they don't care about the Starcraft community. I think it's in Team Liquid's prerogative to ban Competo from using Team Liquid to advertise for their tournament through the calendar and forum.

Schniiii should be time banned, incompetent jackass

Did you fail to notice the 2 other reports of nonsense like this in small online tourneys???

I thought it was just one more try???

yeah i would agree. it's a strong and significant move, but as you say, it doesn't seem like they care about this community so they might as well be excluded from it.

The Cup on coming monday (11.07.) is not listet in Tournament Tracker. So it seems like TL has already reacted.

Might be a good move on TLs part till admins come in to explain what happened. Maybe they can tell us something we dont know cause I have a hard time trusting toxi.. In the end I think the cup should have a chance to clear its name and get back on TL if they put an effort into it

It's listed there now.
Interesting they still haven't responded to this. Even sent an email to see if I could get a response and it's been 4 days and nothing so far. I guess they're just hoping if they ignore it long enough it will go away.
