I really think it is because of the length of time spines take to make, if you could make spines as fast as lings, there is no doubt you would only make them. But lings are also a lot more mobile, so if you survive the attack you are able to pressure your opponent. Also if you place the spines bad, you can sometimes move around and be able to target the spines one at a time, or even run by into the main. Spines are definitely a good idea, but the time and immobility are just limiting there usefulness in some situations. | ||
