So they go back on the same roots and although they developed differently there still are some similarities. At least for a native speaker of one of those languages it should be easier to learn one of the other ones, than for someone with a complete different language background. As a german you can often read dutch or danish a bit for example, without understanding a word once they begin talking... | ||

But you do understand spoken German?Sure, or atleast I understand the general thing you're trying to get across But I also studied German a bit in 7-9 grade (just the basics though) so it might not be as obvious to other Swedes....Germans have to many cases genders and the wordorder gets abit fucked up in perfect paricip so that kinda throws you off sometimes | ||
