Sadly after all this time with so many tournament threads it still is not clear to many users on this site. There are several types of posts that are not acceptable in tournament threads. Any form of:
Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining
Will result in two day to a week long bans even for first offenses. Please stick to the games at hand and enjoy yourselves with a beautiful event such as this and the free service that comes with it. |

He is a WC3 guy and is working his ass off playing another game now and performing very well. On a side note, why do people like him? His interviews have very boring responses, and he seems to show little interest in the foreign scene other than to get money from it (compare him with MC). Is it just because he has results in another game? Is that it? People just follow wins like robots, or is some personality actually a factor? They like him because he's the greatest wc3 player of all time and he always shows up to play and does his best to show some good games. he geniunely seems like a nice guy, he doesn't have to be super charismatic to be likeable.
Fair enough, though I don't get the "nice guy" vibe from him. I also don't get the impression that he is an asshole, but from all his interviews he just seems to not even care about the foreign scene.

The US dominates, or is highly competitive in, pretty-much every sport internationally outside of Soccer. A huge part of that is because the USA is big and highly developed compared to the other high population countries, so we can afford to be say a swimmer, though, not that we are intrinsically athletic.

So it looks like the Koreans are utterly dominating every foreigner once again. I feel like our scene is already starting to die, at least when it comes to significant tournaments.

That's the only factor you need for a result to not be valid.

Why MKP and Nada? Why not Polt?

Even with their own sports, they've been falling behind as well. World football, we're horrible we have holden and howard who are EPL players but the rest are meh. American football, in international tournaments i think spain and japan beat us.
Basketball we are still fairly competitive but that is one of the least skill based sports out there, just be really tall.
Baseball we are bad now and korea and japan are both solid. Hockey canada won.
So yea americans better learn to lose gracefully quick because it likely won't get any better since the reason we were so far ahead in the first place was almost purely due to an economical advantage where other countries were busy trying to feed themselves and live decently rather than chasing sporting opportunities. Tables have turned there as well.
Not really. If America actually put out their best players in events like the World Baseball Classic, World Championship for Basketball, etc, they would win. USA has the best baseball players, basketball players, and is right behind Canada in hockey.
The reason Koreans dominate is because of the infrastructure. Kids grow up in Korea idolizing SC players on television. You can ask a twelve-year-old kid in Korea who Boxer is, and he'll tell you. If you ask a random twelve-year-old who Idra is, they'll probably think you're speaking a different language.
America and Europe will get better in a few years and close the game with the amount of money getting poured into the foreign scene and team houses getting built, but I think Korea will be ahead for the forseeable future.
No doubt players like Thorzain, Naniwa and Sen can take Bo3's off top players like Bomber or MC, but the player depth in Korea is just amazing. A guy like Moon, who probably wouldn't even be considered a Top 50 Korean any more, has only lost once in the entire tournament.

so koreans are dominating. idra is still mindfked by MC. Happy is just a ladder hero. Jinro is in a slump. Tyler is nowhere to be seen. Makes me sad. Well at least DreamHack quality is off the hook!

They could rotate the Koreans they send at each foreigner tournament, that way the people who "don't want to see the same guys winning all tournaments" will be satisfied.

I have seen blink stalkers counter roaches. I havent seen infestors counter blink stalkers.

Poor MC, running into the greatest XvP players at both recent international tournaments (Losira's ZvP, and now Bomber's TvP). Don't be so sure, MC is easily stomping the best foreigners and he has beaten bomber in the finals of a tourney before, as well as the team league. Surely it will be a challenge, but he has a good chance. Although like he said "REPAIR IMBA IMBA REPAIR!!!" :p

"EG Master's Cup" with their average of 4k viewers a night, maybe 5k on a good night if Idra is playing. Yea that 5k viewer count will really WOW the sponsors and generate tons of ad revenue and make esports grow, great logic there
korean haters have no logic, just hate in their hearts.

Online was a huge factor, his stutterstep looked horrible in the NASL playoffs, not at all what it looks like on the GSL

Losira absolutely raped MC. Zergs like Nestea, July would be better and the new generation of zergs like DRG and Line would probably give him headaches as well. Then I'm very worried because Idra has dominated the foreign scene pretty much. Destroyed IPL, destroyed all of his competition in MLG (barring Thorzain). The foreign scene doesn't have much hope to beat Korea if Idra isn't on MC's level. Thorzain beat him, Sase beat him and I'm pretty sure players like Naniwa, Nerchio, White Ra, Dimaga etc would be able to beat Idra. Naniwa and Thorzain are also going to Korea to improve and play in code A. Give them the time and the opportunity and they will be able to compete with anyone. Idra was jetlagged day 1. Said so in interviews, on twitter etc. so when idra jetlagged that is legit excuse, but when MC was jetlagged at MLG that wasn't, i see idra fanboy logic now thx for clarifying So when MC jetlagged it weas legit excuse? But when Idra jetlagged it wasn't? I see MC fanboy logic there. It doesn't really work that way cause MC fanboys didn't call bullshit on IdrA being jetlagged, they called bullshit on IdrA fanboys, whereas IdrA fanboys called bullshit on MC being jetlagged, then supported the IdrA being jetlagged thing. IMO the jetlag excuse is perfectly valid. If people can't see how lack of sleep affect play it's quite stupid. I can't even WATCH matches properly when I'm tired, let alone play the game.
I think only reason they are pointing out Idras jetlag is because of Mc fans pointed it out first at MLG.

You know for all the QQ about how much better Koreans are, we're likely only going to have 1 Korean in the semifinals. July is bad at ZvZ and will probably lose to Sen. Moon has already lost to Naniwa before and will do so again. It's not unreasonable to expect the only Korean who will be in the top 4 is the winner of MC/Bomber.
