Second of all that isn't really appropriate conduct for a LR thread I don't think, nor is it something I really want to read about on these forums unless it was maybe in a blog. Please stop >.< | ||

----------------- Actually I think most people lol about it, rolleyes and move on. The bitching comes in when idra fans try to defend it and try to dismiss 10 years of SC history by saying why bother to gg. It's like saying why bother shaking hands after any other sport when it's been the thing to do for it's entire history. edit 2: or just look at post below for example, lol nice timing. | ||

we're speaking about guy that shakes everyone's hand no matter win or loose, and always stands great in defeat. how do you do that to someone like that? | ||

Lol I can't believe this is such a big deal. There isn't some starcraft code of conduct everyone has unanimously agreed upon. Some people consider GG a sign of respect towards the opponent, others don't. Idra's said so many times he finds saying GG completely pointless and trivial, especially if the games weren't good (and bunker rushes aren't). Last (or 2nd last, I forget) Inside the Game he said typing GG is "a meaningless custom that needs to go away". That should make it pretty clear. If he doesn't put any value in saying GG, he clearly didn't mean any disrespect to Boxer by not saying GG. People just like to create drama out of thin air, it's kinda silly. | ||

I guess Kiwi is still smarting from having his ass handed to him at the IPL finals. Oh, SNAP! Umm no. Bming the emperor is unacceptable. The guy always walks over to your booth to shake your hand and congratulate you even when he loses. The guy is the reason idra even has a career in esports right now and he can't even gg him? Like someone else said, over 9000 douche points. | ||

First of all, Idra typed "gg" in all of his GSL games because he was expected to, and was a guest, or for reasons I can't grasp. He typed "gg" against people he certainly is known for liking less. Why would he choose not to "gg" BoxeR? I doubt it's because of any ill will towards the Emperor, but because of frustration for throwing away his lead in his division, frustration over 2 rax pressure, etc. That doesn't excuse it, however. And to that argument about everyone rage quits, not everyone plays on televised matches, and fewer still get to play against BoxeR. Also, 2 rax pressure is part of the game, and from what I can tell, BoxeR's, although proxy, was economical, not like 11/11, as they barracks were obviously finishing at different times (I'm guessing more like 12/13 rax). It's kind of sad on Inside the Game Idra was supposedly pledged to stay in games longer, but that's clearly not the case. Maybe his game against BoxeR was already played at that time. And on a somewhat related note, Idra has probably been the most vocal pro player to remind us foreigners that Koreans playing with lag have a disadvantage, as evidenced with BoxeR's helion control in game 2. | ||

Why did Painuser even bother to show up? Why, when every viewer expected his opponent to get another walk-over win? Did he actually think that by showing up for 1 match at the end of season, people would actually think of him any better, when he pretty much did no show for most of the season? | ||

He already stated that he doesn't care for meaningless manners over a game that wasn't actually good (from him or his opponent perspective). So please just embrace the SC2 villain that is Greg "Idra" Fields. | ||

People just like to create drama out of thin air, it's kinda silly. if only Kespa was in SC2.. IdrA would be dq'd in every match. GG in league game IS important; its the sign of the game being over, it IS a handshake, and it is not pointless and trivial.. would you like it if all the sudden you are watching a really intense GSL finals match and all the sudden the screen goes black because someone quit without giving warning?? Do you really think that is GOOD for esports? the typing of GG is the climax of most SC2 matches. I can agree that gg may be meaningless in ladder when you are grinding out games, but in an event with over 8k watching... against the fucking Emperor of ALL ESPORTS.. give me a break. And idra fans know that if it was Boxer losing to idra and not gging, you would be all over him too for being a bad mannered asshole.. but when the shoe is on the other foot, you find any excuse you can to defend him. | ||

It's the emperor. You wouldn't be watching sc2 if it weren't for him. Get out. Sorry, I get the guy is great and all and deserve respect but I don't get statements like this. We'd still watch basketball if there was no Michael Jordan and we'd still watch baseball if there was no Babe Ruth. Especially at this point when western e-sports are starting down their own path separate from Korean with plenty of fans that never followed BW/Korean E-Sports scene. And whether it is right or wrong to not "gg" (I could personally care less) I can't believe how worked up and personally offended so many people are. Pretty funny, if I were Idra I'd never GG again just to troll everyone on TL for the rest of time and laugh when every time I didn't do it there were 30 pages instantly about "gg" | ||
