Both of those Boxer vs Idra games were pretty piss poor, neither I would consider even close to a "good game".

Game 1 was just a silly 2-rax that anyone at diamond level or above can easily do, and will take games off even grandmaster players.

Game 2 was over the moment they spawned in vertical positions. A terran 2-base push through that short and narrow path is pretty much unbeatable. It's just like those pathways on the top and bottom of the old Shakuras map (the ones that were removed because they were imbalanced), but even shorter and quicker to push though. If NASL uses this map again next season, they really should to remove vertical spawns from it, or remove the passage like they did with Shakuras.

Finally, someone who knows what they are talking about.

This just proves you have no idea what you are talking about. In Korean starcraft, a gg is the equivalent of a handshake. To not gg after a match is the same as spitting on someone as they extend their hand to shake yours or screaming obscenities at them after you lose.

Idra was a part of the Korean scene for years. He knows the culture. He has no excuse.

Imagine a baseball game. An opponent pitcher goes out and tries to hit one of your players with the ball intentionally. What is expected? The next time you are up to pitch, you will most likely try to hit one of the opposing teams batters. Boxer cheese, Idra didn't GG. Emperor or not, Idra can get ticked if he wants.

Wait what?

Cheese=hitting a batter with a pitch? Are you serious? Is that seriously the best analogy you have? Not only is it not even close to applicable, but it makes no sense.

A rush is part of the game. Idra didnt defend. If you want to use baseball analogy, it would be a fastball Idra couldnt catch up to. Or a curve when he thought he was getting a change up.

Boxer struck Idra out, and Idra has a right to be pissed. But he should be honored just to share the game with Boxer. You dont spit on the greatest person ever to play a sport.

You clearly missed the analogy. Cheesing is frowned upon mostly by the SC community last time I recall, so is intentionally hitting a batter with a pitch. Idra just returned the hit with another hit.

Daigo and Boxer are the real faces of Asia. To think Daigo was winning tournaments in 3-4 different fighting games at the same time is unthinkable.

TT1 and an assortment of others are being jerks in this thread because hey, they love talking shit about Idra. Surprise! TT1 and a bunch of LR people are BM! About Idra, of all people! HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS COMING?!

I for one had no idea that TT1 thought IdrA was a spineless rat boy and wanted to shit in his mouth.

I'm genuinely surprised! Was this common knowledge? Why wasn't this in the featured news section? LOL.

that metaphor is so wrong... not writing gg is the same as simply not shaking the opponents hand after a match. writing bm stuff in chat would be spitting on someone.

Not in starcraft. In korean starcraft the gg is a sign of respect and is expected at the end of the game. Not doing it is far worse than not shaking someones hand. It is a personal insult.

I wouldn't say it'd be spitting in their face, but not as light as only not shaking someone's hand.

Probably more equivalent to REFUSING to shake someone's hand

lol i'm gold and i beat a GM using 2-rax transition into all marines.

i was thinking maybe the zerg could place his best tech structures at cross positions.. making his main just an expansion base

in game 2, maybe if he transferred away drones fast with drops and sacrificed those two bases he would still come out ahead if he had switched to mass ultras instead... his creep spread was a little slow too for some reason

i felt the map in game 2 was pretty balanced

I think he should've broken his own rocks like you would do in Shak, but even so the map and those positions is tough for zerg.
You must have to have it

Only cheese is built into the game. Hitting a batter goes outside of that. It would be like a batter getting pissed at a curve ball and charging the mound because he never learned to hit one.

Like it or not, cheese is part of starcraft. If you cant handle that, you simply dont belong.

nope. this is completely false. It is like heading to the locker room before anyone even can come up to you to shake your hand. It happens a LOT in pro sports. If someone has a bad game, (lebron in nba finals) he walks STRAIGHT to the locker room after the game while some players stay and shake hands. Is lebron being rude and bad mannered to the mavs in that case?? no, hes just frustrated and wants to get away. same with Idra.....
You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.

He has no excuse.

that metaphor is so wrong... not writing gg is the same as simply not shaking the opponents hand after a match. writing bm stuff in chat would be spitting on someone.

Not in starcraft. In korean starcraft the gg is a sign of respect and is expected at the end of the game. Not doing it is far worse than not shaking someones hand. It is a personal insult.

I wouldn't say it'd be spitting in their face, but not as light as only not shaking someone's hand.

Probably more equivalent to REFUSING to shake someone's hand

nope. this is completely false. It is like heading to the locker room before anyone even can come up to you to shake your hand. It happens a LOT in pro sports. If someone has a bad game, (lebron in nba finals) he walks STRAIGHT to the locker room after the game while some players stay and shake hands. Is lebron being rude and bad mannered to the mavs in that case?? no, hes just frustrated and wants to get away. same with Idra.....
this analogy fits perfectly

I'm no longer even sure how one becomes a fanboy of a guy like IdrA. Are these the kind of people who watch day time soap opera and are totally gripped by its compelling drama?

It's fine to defend his play-style and skills as he is obviously a skilled player, but what justifies defending his bad manner, claiming manner is not compulsary? Is it not the proper behaviour for sportsmen to shake the hands of their competitor after the match, regardless of the results?

The "gg" is the equivalent of the handshake, and while it may not be compulsary, it's understandable that it becomes the point of discussion if a player - losing or otherwise - refuses it. Making patronising comments about other people making a big deal about this only serves to show your true colour as a rabid Idra fanboy.

So you insult the people that you think are so inflammatory and think you have some kind of ethical or moral high ground here?

No, I'm ticked off and making inflammatory comments myself, so my position here isn't an ethical or moral high ground.

I'm stating a fact that professional mannerism in sports is expected and applauded, and that arguing otherwise is false. I'd love to hear your rebuttal on this, rather than more patronising comments about my lack of moral ground.

(and to clarify I am making the assumption that mocking people who expect good manners in professional players is the same as arguing against the need for good manners to begin with)
