OFC maybe the world is saving up the epic for tommorows gsl matches..
Game 1 of Morrow v Sheth was pretty bad, but I thought this game was great - Grubby just played so creatively with blink stalkers and then base trading and hidden expo.

Grubby is pretty good at winning the first game of his NASL matches... then losing the next two. Here's hoping he finally pulls out a series, he is much better than 0-9.

Usually scrapy basetrades like this are exciting because they are down to the wire.
This was just teribad

Damn, that was a fun game to watch. Never seen anything done like that before. I'm always helpless in weird game situations like that, it was nice to see how the pros manage it. Hopefully grubby can go on to take the series.

Exactly, a little bit after Beta, Rainbow sorta got left behind as everyone developed ;x

Just fyi grubby was well known for winning 99% of his base trade games , since he always did insane decisions during them in wc3 , so this just put up a smile on my face!

Yea but rainbow was scared to push out against 14 blink stalkers when he basically had more tanks then stalkers....

Let's remember that Rainbow is Startale's team captain. I don't think he cares so much about developing into a great player. He's a lot like TheWind and Boxer, they both fell to code A after their teams started taking off in popularity. I'm sure he is busy doing things with his team rather than playing SC2 at a professional level.

Grubby goes for a but of an unusual blink stalker opening, with proxy pylons at both of rainbow's entrances, while rainbow goes for a marine/tank composition with a raven (and soon a banshee and a couple of vikings). Grubby kills most of rainbow's scvs after rainbow's army moves out but rainbow takes out grubby's gold and then main. Grubby has taken the 3 oclock and the 11 o clock and is producing void rays. It turns into the marine tank build protecting a floating starport, and grubby wears him down and wins thanks to his 3 colossi and multitude of chargelots.

1 gate expand on close positions on Backwater Gulch.
Why isn't Rainbow crushing this?

Rainbow did the tasteless build, Grubby a blink stalker build to keep him contained. Rainbow was forever 1 base and basically hoping for an all in timing. The timing passed though with him being contained for too long. He had poor viking control, and then lost all his scvs while pushing across the map to the stalkers. Meanwhile Grubby had took the gold. A base race concluded, but Rainbow had no minerals whilst Grubby could just keep expanding all over the map as he lost his bases. He got stargate tech and sniped the remaining scvs bar for 1, killed every floatable building minus the starport and everything else. You saw the rest i presume.

All credit to grubby for doing the honorable thing, taking his medicine, and fighting it out. While his play has some way to go, others in the community could learn from him following through on his obligations.

TheWind and Boxer are now coaches. Being a team captain doesn't mean you don't play. Was Cezanne terrible against Nestea because he was a captain?
