You get to be the champion by showing that you're better than everyone else (people from other groups), not by beating the same player twice (and with the help of the extended series at that).

Like for example IdrA was still pissed when he lost to TZ, even though he already had 1st place secured. It lets you play good or get punished later.

The seeding system is actually pretty good, it means that the finals are generally a playoff between two of the very best at the tournament. Where as in GSL where there's minimal seeding and single elimination you get total mismatch finals between Inca/Nestea, Rain/MC, Fruitdealer/Rainbow etc..
The only downside is the Gretorp scenario but that's a small price to pay.

Yup, he has to go through MC again down 0-2. x-x Considering he barely just made it through him in the TSL. That's a very steep order.

Only because Thorzain is pretty much unable to get pass MC with the extended series rule.

And beat Incontrol/Select and Machine. Then if he does that and beats MC with the 2-0 deficit Idra needs to have lost to MMA or Thorzain then needs to beat MMA and Losira/Naniwa.
It's just really, really unlikely.
