We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.

Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.

Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out.

lol agreed

I think everyone can agree IdrA didn't bring his best. He had some weird read or feeling he could surprise MC with roach but he never did.

Wait. So you're saying Idra wanted to lose?

Well, Idra is really fuckin passive aggressive- like the way he left against MMA. He doesn't play his best when he thinks something is wrong with the game.

No... He's saying he got thrown on tilt because he believed he could cheese him. Shit happens when you're at lan's man.

I'm starting to think it having the koreans for GSL is a bad thing

I used to llike MLG so much because I knew a foreigner I liked would win. Now with the best koreans coming over every MLG, the chances of a foreigner winning are slim. No more getting to see your favorite foreigner that you can INTERACT with (not here a translated interview) win MLG.

Only NA to try and make it more of a NA results only type thing

The fact that someone actually voted for this makes me seriously considering moving out of my continent...... jesus christ....

That is kind of a disrespectful reaction to someone's reasonable opinion. While I think MLG should be open, I don't see any drastic issue with the idea of a North American only tournament to determine who is the best player in NA. In fact such a thing exists, it's called the WCG US finals. Should I be tossed into the ocean because I like the WCG national tournaments?

Apple and Oranges, WCG is a qualifier for international tournament which is considered the Olympics of video games. Whereas MLG is a tournament itself.

I think the Anaheim invites have to be Bomber, MarineKing, Nestea and then either Nada/Boxer for the nostalgia fans.

MarineKing would be great at MLG. The guy has a great personality and shows amazing emotion during games.

The logical choice should be NesTea, MVP, SlayersMMA and whoever wins the super tournament.

NesTea - earns it by being the reigning GSL Code S champion.
MVP - earns it because he won the GSL world championships recently.
SlayersMMA - as reigning champ needs to be given the opportunity to go back and defend his crown.
Super tourney winner - self explanatory.

They'll probably bring a legend (July raging through the open bracket was so awesome) and an up and comer (Don Rae Gu? Alicia?).

Getting the MLG invite is going to be something that Koreans are going to be fighting for now.

Didn't they say the invites will be based off of GSL points (after Columbus)? Now idk if that means top 4 points (MVP, MKP, Nestea, MC) or 33-36 or somewhere inbetween.

in terms of korean invites. I think 1 reigning champ, and 3 upcoming players from 3 separate teams AND possibly at least 1 race each.

Reigning champ + ST? OGS? IM? Slayers?

Random thoughts...

1) Huk must be feeling pretty damn good right now as the guy who 2-0ed MMA back to Code A
2) I seriously think MMA has one of the best TvZs in the world right now...even just based on today's games and his match vs DRG, it's hard to imagine anyone outside of MVP, Bomber, MKP or maybe SC pulling that kind of stuff off
3) Absolutely sick tournament, one of the best and most exciting I've watched to date

His TvZ is really good, no question. But he won because Losira went EVERY game for Mutalisks past the 15 minute mark. MMA abused this and dealt too much dmg with drops in most of the games.

People have to understand that while it seems MMA is really good (and I'm not saying he isn't because I think he is), we're a bit quick to judge especially since we only have his results from gstl and this mlg (where he beat foreigners and a dreadful zvt zerg <-losira). MMA had great multitasking this mlg, but it was mostly losira's fault. Not getting spines at his expos, not getting mutas till like 15 mins into the game. Made MMA's drops far too strong. Remember guys losira's zvt is dreadful (<40% win ratio).

WP mma and well deserved. Really excited to see the sc2 community becoming truly international. Maybe someday Korea will have some 3 day tourneys and we can export all of our players ^_^. Happy MMA won, I love everyone in slayers, if it couldn't be Tyler MMA is just as good.

I hope MLG is smart again and bring up and coming talent not the most accomplished top of the GSL. I seriously think Losira, MMA are better than 3/4 of code S

I like that MC is trying to become popular outside of Korea as well, going to dreamhack, mlg, playing in NASL/TSL and learning a little English

My girlfriend and I were planning a trip to europe, I said that we had to stop in Korea so I can watch GSL live.

I've reconsidered, we're going through america and going to an MLG. Fuck Korea. Amazing tourney guys, very well done. OR MLG Australia plx <3?

Any word from our Korean speakers/followers on what the Korean reaction to the tournament was? Both results and atmosphere?

most netizens were really amazed by the quality & activeness of the crowd, and most were jealous of how awesome the crowd was. ofc also proud of the korean players who all did very well

Thanks The crowd certainly did appear awesome. Once I see an MLG with enough seating for all the SC2 fans, I am gonig to seriously sit down and consider flights from NZ... maybe for the grand finals one.
