Okay we're going to start cracking down on people bashing players for no reason. You don't have to like every player, but at least show some respect. (as of page 402) |

ret/slush/sheth/tyler etc are pretty good but nowhere near as good as the above. really? then don't fucking watch it, especially when they aren't broadcasting any other match. Not like they chose the CLB over the winner's bracket, and besides all of these players have just as much of a shot at the title as do the big names... remember a dude named naniwa? how do you think he won last mlg, up through the same brackets being cast right now, although based on your reasoning he probably sucks too... yea but let's be honest, who the hell wants to watch col crunccher vs a gretorp or fenix when some sick sick names lingering in the lower bracket, OP is right, the top is really terrible. and guess what, since there's only two streams to four series per round, some crap top bracket series will be cast while two amazing bottom bracket series will be playing and one of those won't have the pleasure of being cast by tastosis or daywheat Then they should have won. The best players got to top bracket, no way around that. i don't think you understand the bracketing. gretorp going 0-5 and landing in top bracket wasn't because he won, while july mc thorzain are in bottom bracket. He's in the losers bracket? Unless you're talking about amateurs? In which case MC was also in pool play with gretorp. Also, he's only in there cause of good performance in past MLGs.
everyone is in losers bracket except top 4 from pool. we are talkin about the 4 brackets of the losers, the top 2 have like no big names, while the bottom 2 are stacked to the brim.

Does anyone know if the format was the same for the previous MLG? As in, people in group A and B will never go against someone from group C or D unless they make it to the top 4 (or something around there)?
I really don't see the logic in this at all... its just causing less varied match ups... and more repeats, which leads to some people getting further due to easier groups. Also it causes more problems with extended series... why!?!

Yeah that's just bad pool mixing (A and B with C and D) although that was decided by previous MLGs as well for the most part, since pools are done numerically by seed. At any rate, they could just ignore the top bracket if they feel the bottom has better matches. It was the top/bottom terminology that confused me lol

The "bad players have free reign in top" because they did well in pool play.. that's just the way it is. What are they supposed to do, put Slush at the bottom even though he did well?
the point of my post is that the groups should have spread out in a more even manner. 2 group c players, mc and thorzain will be playing each other immediately even though they played before.
2nd of group c should not be playing the 3rd of group c immediately in the loser brackets. it should be spread out more where we have something more like the 2nd of group c plays against the 3rd of group a and vice versa.
