Okay we're going to start cracking down on people bashing players for no reason. You don't have to like every player, but at least show some respect. (as of page 402)

MLG told Catz and Pokebunny the wrong times to show up and they were dq'd for being late. reaaaaaly sucks it they were legitimately told the wrong time ![]() sc2rootgaming Root Gaming @ @tofumonsterr no clarification: he was told the wrong time by someone not on MLG staff. Again, our fault so not mlgs fault really Ridiculous situation. Pokebunny getting DQ for showing up at time official told him to. Rushed him here when we heard and no affect But that one is. So you're saying he showed up late. It sucks, but it doesn't matter. Ask a 2nd and 3rd official. Have none of you ever competed in sports or other competition growing up? People make mistakes, and as a player the onus is on you to be extra thorough. To me it's similar to if you go to a doctor, and he gives you a diagnosis, don't you get a 2nd and/or 3rd opinion if he decides to prescribe you with something? You cross check your facts. I don't like that analogy at all, it's not like the official has to run some tests which can yield false results, the official messed up on their job and tournament time rules should always have some room to bend in regards to mistakes on their part. Sure, you can say it's Pokebunny's fault for not double checking, but the initial fault lies on the official that told him the wrong time. So, yeah, while the recommendation should be for players to double check so these issues don't occur, when they do occur, particularly when it's the fault of MLG, then they should make accommodations when possible, at 10-20 minutes, it's definitely possible to accommodate. At 30+ minutes, perhaps I'd agree with their decision, since they have a tournament to keep on time. The doctor analogy isn't perfect, I'll give you that, but the point if something is important to you, from your perspective you should take extra steps to confirm important details. As for false results, I'd say telling a player the wrong time is one of the first things I'd be aware of. I grew up playing in tennis tourneys (maybe I should've used this as an analogy), and as a kid I knew not to rely on one official's word. That's just being naive, and yeah it might be their fault, but it's something that a child could've easily avoided. As for accomodating the players, I agree with you. I really wanted to see Catz v July, but maybe it's just something they couldn't do today. Maybe they didn't know it was their reps who told the players the wrong time, by the time they made the DQ decision. We don't the details about what happened when, and I'm not sure they have a way to confirm what Catz says is true. I definitely believe him, but realize there's an incentive for the player to lie, so some will. As for coming up with 30 minutes, that seems arbitrary. If there's a good reason for that, then people can explain why certain times would be better.

This please! I'm not sure how it works but the the seeds for the open bracket winners is what they are below according to the MLG site. Pool A 21 Pool B 24 Pool C 23 Pool D 22 If I had to guess this means the highest seed from the open bracket goes to pool A then D, C and last B. Am I wrong about this anyone? Look below for seeds of the remaining players: 58 mouzMorroW vs 18 FnaticFenix 163 ThorZaIN vs 11 KawaiiRice 29 StartaleJuly 16 EGAxslav vs 233 Sixjax_MajOr The MLG site kinda contradicts itself ... on the brackets page it says 21-24-23-22 for A-B-C-D, but in the rules: 3. Pool A will consist .... the highest seeded Player to advance from the Open Bracket ... Pool B will consist of .... the 2nd highest seeded Player to advance from the Open Bracket Winners Bracket. Pool C will consist .... 2nd lowest seeded Player to advance from the Open Bracket Winners Bracket. Pool D .... the lowest seeded Player to advance from the Open Bracket Winners Bracket. Which would be 21-22-23-24 for A-B-C-D. from Event Competition Format.

Or could someone just do a quick explanation of it? Basically I'm wondering how the loser's bracket works.. do the 4 winners of the Loser's Bracket play vs the 4 winners of the Winner's Bracket, to end up with 4 total in the groups? Or how does that work. The 4 winner's bracket winners go to pool play (to get a chance to get placed far into champ bracket) The 4 (or 8 I'm not sure) LB winners go to the first rounds of the Championship bracket. Ah right. Thanks!

NesTea vs IncA 4-0 at GSL was outclassing Idra vs Xaiot 1-2 at Star Wars was Xaiot outplaying him that game, not outclassing him as a player There is a difference. IdrA vs. XiaoT was actually 0-2, and it was outplaying both games. IdrA didn't play well there at all.
