Are Code S group matches and up-down group matches played as Bo1 or Bo3?

GOM really does listen to feedback. That's very admirable.

i like the changes to GSTL, with the added amount of content I might consider starting to watch the GSL/GSTL again.

I dunno if this was answered already regarding this: In the actual 'Up-and-Down' matches, it will be played by 8 players in Code S who got knocked down with 7 top players from code A. 15 players will play in 5 player group with top two players in the group advancing to code S.

15 players play in 5 player groups = 3 groups
Top two players = 6 people
6 people from code A + 1 person from MLG = 7 people going into code S?
Meaning there's still one code S spot open?

Winner of Code A gets a spot in Code S.

If MLG winner declines it will be given to the MLG runner up and not the Code A runner up, did I understand correctly?

Longer GSTL!!! \o/
Don't like the changes in the up-and-down matches though, makes rising from Code A to Code S and falling from Code S to Code A tougher. And, in my opinion, there are still some players currently in Code A that deserve to be in Code S and some players currently in Code S that should be in Code A.

Will be interesting to see some foreigners other than Huk and Jinro at GSL, and also increase competition in MLG, considering a code S spot is probably a better prize than the money for most pros.

I guess some people listened to Xeris' post. ^^
Lose its good, after will be win.

How is the GSTL playoffs going to work exactly? With 6 teams advancing we have a Ro6 into a Ro3 into a round of one and a half? ... which is not correct cause that would be a bit weird!

Could be like Shinhan PL does it.

G1: #3 vs. #6
G2: #4 vs. #5
G3: Winner of G1 vs. Winner of G2
G4: Winner of G3 vs. #2
G5: Winner of G4 vs. #1

Or similar to NFL playoffs:

G1: #3 vs. #6
G2: #4 vs. #5
G3: Winner of G1 vs. #2
G4: Winner of G2 vs. #1
G5: Winner of G3 vs. Winner of G4

This is awesome. All of the changes are. Dual tournament groups is amazing, with so much more potential. GSTL sticking around is awesome. We're starting to see some nice development into a much more fluid format with GSL and a standing for teams in GSTL. Hopefully we see some more regimented team practicing a la BW teams now that there's a team league regularly.

G1: #2 from Group B vs. #3 from Group A
G2: #2 from Group A vs. #3 from Group B
G3: Winner of G1 vs. #1 from Group A
G4: Winner of G2 vs. #1 from Group B
G5: Winner of G3 vs. Winner of G4

Same way they did playoff in IEM V.
