Thanks. We'll work on that, I didn't realize we had two links in our EU Thread so I only changed one. That is fixed now.
|
Awesome chance for the NA players to get in on some Open cup action! And for a decent weekly prize too.
|
The signup process for this is a little difficult and long, I had 3 different forms to fill out at various points and had to register for a site that took me somewhere else, eventually I had to come back and follow the instructions and even then I was looking around for a signup link that doesn't even appear till I'm logged in. T_T

Yeah it is a bit tedious. Trying to get that fixed, but the good news is you only have to do it once! Also the site does keep track of how well you do so after a few weeks the seeding will work very well.
|
Yeah it looks like a nice site once you get signed up and all that.
Need more signups!
|
|
Really great players signed up already :D Looking forward to Tuesday!
|
|
I might be able to cast this, however I'm not sure if it's worth it to cast it in Romanian because of the timezone. I will get 5 viewers lol

Haven't seen your stream in a while (last time I watched was that charity/fundraising thing you guys did when you streamed for like 40 hours straight) . Definitely going to check this out!
Ipp, you're still the main caster behind these tournaments, right?

Wow that was a long time ago. I will cast the NA Tournaments -- Sheek/Drool do the Eu ones.

Signed up!
On an unrelated note, will we check in on the site? And will you be using an ingame chat channel?

That note sounds pretty related to me.

the "sign up" button becomes a "check in" button if you are registered for the tournament already. As far as I know Ragequit won't use an ingame channel but their IRC channel on quakenet: #RQTVOpen.
If you don't have an IRC client you can use:
http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=rqtvopen&uio=MT1mYWxzZSY5PXRydWUmMTE9MzY5JjEyPXRydWU4c
another thing, unlike last week you can now signup during checkin stage - but you are not checked in automatically if you signup during checkin. This is a change which will be implemented a bit later.
|
Check in's started! Make sure you check in, ends on the upcoming hour mark!
|
Also we have the chat channel RQTVOpen set up to try and help players find each other without having to tab out of sc2.

I am currently trying to sign up, Halcyon.680. The email from the website has not come, and it has been 30 minutes or so. I was wondering if I could get signed up by an admin? plz

Due to some internal issue's preventing people from checking in we had to cancel the event for today.

LoL the best players competing are goody and sixjax.cocao. The rest is just unkown, us top players should play more tourneys because it is good for the competitive atmosphere.

Is it going to be rescheduled? Or will the RQTV not come back to NA until after EU tourny?

I imagine most top players are preparing for one of: NASL playoffs, IPL, Dreamhack, etc.

with Dreamhack going on we cannot reschedule this one unfortunately. We will be back to NA after the next EU.

UPDATE: Sorry guys, the tournament is semi-canceled. Because of the site bugs, we hate to let everyone down, but we have to cancel the tournament as it stands. However, to at least provide some entertainment to the users, and to help out with the more named players that we appreciate signing up, we are compiling a list of famous or known players to an invite only tournament to take place in a couple moments, with a new bracket generated elsewhere.
We are terribly sorry for the inconvienance, and we will be keeping everyone up to date on the future tournaments via our Teamliquid threads.
The invite list will be posted momentarily, right here and in the QuakeNet channel.

I signed up a couple days ago and checked in but it says no upcoming matches plus I do not see myself in the brackets..... very confused whats going on

For any one affected by tonight's issues with the website, I offer my apology. We will be putting all new events on hold till we make a full investigation and fix the current issue. The Rage quit guys did the best out of a bad situation, so please understand.
Still some very good games to watch so head over to: http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/Ipp

I wanted to play So once again the NA version is on hold....
|
tournament still ongoing, bracket says MKP playing blackcitadel in the semis in some minutes?
|
So I wanted to, while I had a bit of down time, write up a little response and cover some of the questions, comments, and concerns we had during this, for lack of a better word, mishap. We hope this will clear up some confusion and settle anyone who was upset over the event and how things went down.
When the brackets for the original tournament were generated on the JeeSports website, there was a site bug. This site bug caused the brackets to be completely unusable. An important thing to note here is that we (RageQuitTV) do not own, program, or manage JeeSports at all. We are sponsored by them for this tournament series and they handle the site with our recommendations and input.
Anyways, we spent the first 10 minutes after bracket generation with our entire team trying to fix the problem or at least make the redeemable. It took so long because while the display of the brackets was messed up, we originally believed it was only a display bug and that players would have received their matches as normally. Also, our first indications were that the brackets would seemingly fix after the first round, if the matches were being created correctly for the users. Shortly after, we realized this was wrong, and the complete tournament was a mess. This entire time I, RQTV-Abyss, was in contact with Bakor, from JeeSports. He was doing all he could to understand and fix the problem as well. After some tinkering, we decided our only avenue was to cancel the tournament.
As we have previously cancelled the NA tournament due to issues related to the website, and due to the large number of well-known players that had signed up for this tournament, we wanted to do something. At this point, we decided to quickly hash together a bracket of 25 of the known players. These players were chosen very quickly as we didn't want to leave people waiting. We apologize for anyone left out; we might have missed some notable players. We apologize if we did. The main reason for running a smaller invite tournament is that with not using JeeSports, we have no automated bracket system. This means that every match has to be individually reported to an admin via IRC or game, and then updated by hand. We only had 2 admin working on the brackets, so the number needed to remain small to be manageable.
We apologize for the issues we had, and we wish we could have had a better answer. We want to especially thank anyone who was patient and understanding during our problems. We dedicated our every effort to making the transition go as smooth as possible, and although it could have gone better, we felt it went well considering the circumstances.
If anyone has any questions, comments, concerns, rage, hatred, or anything at all regarding the whole thing, feel free to contact me personally via email at Abyss@ragequit.tv, or via PM here. I will read them and get back to you as soon as possible.
- Abyss Tournament Admin for RageQuit.TV
EDIT (Regarding the casting of the Semis/Finals of the Invite) from Ipp: In addition to everything XSplit forced us to upgrade yesterday and since then we have had some serious lag issues. The stream starts off fine but after a few games we get hit with serious lag. We had 1080p running for 5 hours straight with no issues throughout TeamLiquid Open but we can't even do a 720p stream now. Which is why we decided to replay cast the Semi's/Finals on a later date when we get these issues figured out.
So stay tuned for the semis/finals results, including cast from replay. We will update you as soon as we have a date and time.

My mistake, I wasn't aware that we had changed from 100 Euro to 100 USD. Easy to miss signs and such
I'll be changing that on JeeSports now, and it will be changed for the coming weeks.

I can give you the extra out of pocket if you wish. It was in USD in the description of the tournament but in euro's in the banner/prize section. I will get the banner updated ASAP, unfortunately I'm not home at the moment.
