[GSL] Code A Semi-finals!

If you'd asked the community pre-season as to who the top 4 non-Code S Terrans were, I'd imagine a large number of voters would have included both Bomber and Ryung in their lists. They came into the new GSL season with masses of hype behind them, and to date neither has disappointed.

Bomber's route started out somewhat rockily as he was forced to hold off the fearsomely cheesy onslaught of Jjun, but having pulled through that first test he proceeded to convincingly defeat Nuts, and thoroughly impress in a 2-0 victory over the much lauded MMA.

Ryung for his part also had a bumpy start having to deal with the uncommonly aggressive roach play of RevivaL in round 1, before battling past the GSL's new wonder-kid Creator in round 2. Things went a bit smoother for him in his round of 8 match up, where he was able to settle back into his favoured TvT and defeat aLive 2-0.

While most fans are aware that Ryung defeated Bomber in the GSTL last season, many don't realise that he actually holds a 2-0 head to head lead having defeated Bomber in the Zotac team invitational as well. TvT is certainly Ryung's most comfortable match up while it's Bomber's least favoured, but Bomber has shown a penchant for vengeance and I'm sure he'll be coming into this series well prepared for his opponent.

I might not know who's going to win the match, but I do know it's likely to be excellent!

Bomber wins 3-1!

While the first match up might be the more competitive on paper, the second offers it's own intriguing set of storylines. MVP is a former champion looking to continue his march back to glory, while Keen is the unheralded upstart making a name for himself this season.

MVP's path through the bracket has been fairly steady as one would have expected, he demolished Luer in the opening round 2-0, before being made to work a little harder in his matches with Min and Violet.

Keen introduced himself to us explosively as he blew up Choya's mineral line in one massive nuke, before joining in on the applause as a ceremony. Further wins against Vanvanth and CoCa allowed him to show off more off his skills, as well as a chance to endear himself to fans with more of his ceremonies.

The numbers don't look too favourable for Keen given their respective win rates in the match up, but Keen's are somewhat misleading in that the last time he played a recorded TvT was about 5 months ago. I'd still not fancy anyone in a Bo5 vs MVP in a TvT to be entirely honest, but Keen seems to enjoy the spotlight and what better way to be the centre of attention than by upsetting the best Terran in the world?

It seems likely MVP will win the series, but regardless of the results this will tell us a lot about where both players are at with their games right now.
