This is haypros best chance to get a key win. He really really needs to beat slush for himself and TL imo.
Looking forward to Nada vs Moonglade, Naniwa vs KR, and squirtle vs Strelok. And Haypro better win!
slush,nada,dde,nani,strelok my predictions ^^
Slush 2-1 Nada 2-1 dde 2-0 Naniwa 2-0 Squirtle 2-1 if lag is minor, Otherwise 2-0 Strelok

really like tonights matches gona be great.
Casting was good last night but I'm glad that we should have iNcontroL back tonight!
We've been messing around with some settings, hope you guys will see an improvement in tonights production!

Audio is far better, lets see what else has improved!
On April 23 2011 09:37 Xeris wrote: We've been messing around with some settings, hope you guys will see an improvement in tonights production! Thanks Xeris, sound quality seems to have improved over yesterday's broadcast. Sadly I still only hear one channel. Edit : appears to be fine for the caster's voices now, music is only on the right side though.
Still alot of screen lagg for me. Audio goes on while screen freezes every 15~~sec.
Wow ALL of these matches are fantastic!
Sound still shitty. Background get a brief blue tint every second.
Finally the audio has been fixed! Frame rate is also much better. Now make it a little less bright, and its close to perfect.
I really wonder why they could not fix that earlier, this has cost NASL a lot of viewers.
Cant be unheard+ Show Spoiler + Sound is louder in the right earphone, is it this way for anyone else.
Onebasiwa works just fine for his nickname. IMO
I'm curious if Kawaii is as confident this week as he was last. Naniwa is so scary right now.

He is not confident against protoss ever T_T

Yes, it's still much louder in the right ear. I'm not sure why people are saying the sound is fixed and better. For me it's still very much unbalanced.

did anyone else just see the nada game in all of 5 minutes from start to finish thanks to skipping? Im just curious if it was me or the stream,

Ugh why is the audio in NASL always weird, it's so favored on the right-side of my headphones today.
On April 23 2011 09:52 Warrice wrote: Cant be unheard + Show Spoiler + Sound is louder in the right earphone, is it this way for anyone else. Yeah the balance is off a bit to the right, should be easy to fix
The framerate looks a bit better today [:
Edit: actually the framerate ingame looks fantastic now, almost perfect [[[:
The sound doesn't seem much improved to me. It's a little better, but still bad. And choppiness is still noticeable.
Why does NASL's stream lag so much and IGN's doesn't seem to really? Is it because IGN paid for a better service?

It is working perfectly

the commentators are coming through evenly on both ears for me but the music is heavy on the right and barely hearable on the left. a couple days ago it was the opposite.

It appears that their studio camera is set to automatically adjust the white balance. Either the camera is constantly changing the white balance for no reason and needs to be set to manual white balance, or there is some flashing lights in the studio that are confusing it.

Audio quality is unbearable after being spoiled by IPL =/
My liquibets started improving as soon as I started always going against the home team. Sorry Haypro.
Yeah, lag is perfectly fine for me. Try lowering your resolution quality to 360p or 480p.
The stream is beautifully clear for me right now. Whatever theyve been chaging or improving recently is working wonders. If it had been this smooth from day 1 I think it would have been heralded is as much greater success

It's week two - how can you still be trying to resolve this issue? For a production that charges money, that is simply unacceptable and any other service would have refunds being offered (take this one, for example: + Show Spoiler +). Thanks anyway though.

The choppiness is almost entirerly gone! I'm so glad to see this.
I'm really curious (if any NASLers are lurking here) as to what caused it to begin with, and how did you solve it?

Sudden change in bitrate, in the preshow only Gretorp and Incontrol are moving - there is a lot of static image.

Not everyone posting about issues is out on a personal crusade against NASL, some of us actually want them to suceed and continue to improve their broadcast based on feedback given. The audio is pretty odd, InControl's voice is kinda bland. Its like he is further away from the mic.
The ingame music is super loud...
and actually it sounds like you put a bucket on top of incontrol's head and that's really just not very nice.
Casters voices and music level are much better, just gotta fix the imbalance (heh)

Is it just me or is the ingame MUSIC way too loud? Its really a bit annoying. Would be nice if that could be fixed asap!
Audio is too loud on the right now. Not to mention it sounds like it has a slight echo too. Yesterday it was the game sounds only on the left....
How is this stuff overlooked honestly?
Not looking good for Slush right now.
Nice solid play there by Haypro! C'mon Slush! gogo 2-1

what on EARTH is wrong with the sound? how can this still be a problem, several days in??

The game audio is off sync. My right speaker is way louder than my left speaker.

It seems to me like they're trying to fix things, but applying a "fix" then not testing it, just waiting for the next day to go live and see what happens....

On April 23 2011 10:14 islandhome wrote: what on EARTH is wrong with the sound? how can this still be a problem, several days in??
I think the sound is fine maybe the music is abit loud
This audio should really be a priority-one fix. It's unbearable. Gretorp/Incontrol are imbalanced with each other and get drowned out by swells in music. There's no reason to run the game audio through compression...
slush is pretty good at failing at all ins, I am glad Haypro is playing so well, people deserve to see him play solid games. One of the best zergs, Haypro fighting!
Audio is hurting my ears. Really disappointed to have sound problems over and over. I don't like to watch the game on mute. Please get it fixed!
The bass in the music is actually quite loud also. As in, fucking unbearable.
This thread is so dead. I think it is a sign of the direction of the NASL. 11K viewers for IGN right now, 5K viewers for NASL.

idk I don't like the way Haypro plays ZvZ. He is not droning hard, producing units blindly and not attacking with them. How could Slush get ahead in supply?
Looks like Slush has caught up a bit and will have his third base quicker.
Well the stream is a hell of a lot better then before, except for maybe a bit loud music. Also Slush has about a 20 supply lead on Haypro. Nevermind Haypro is a bit higher
Haypro has 4 more infestors but slush has like 20 more roaches.
ehh
Yeah haypro didn't play this right he definitely had an advantage and now he really doesn't. 1 armor is his only real advantage now.
Also broodlords will destroy him.
It's not that the stream itself is THAT bad....its the fact that other online tourneys like TSL and now IGN are putting out AMAZING quality streams while the best NASL can manage is a choppy, blurry 480p stream. People expect a lot better than that at this point cause they've already been spoiled by waaay better quality.
I don't know if it's the amount of traffic or what, but 1080 keeps freezing for me (I've watched previous NASL days without this issue). 720 isn't freezing, so maybe something is weird with my internet.
Sound sounds even worse than yesterday, wtf? Previously they've usually done a better job after finding a problem, but they did worse today. (Although now instead of the left channel being too loud, it's the right channel with the sound being way too loud)
could we finally see HayprO win :D always seems to lose =/ even though hes a really good player.

Sometimes its just better to not say anything then coming up with: " Both these players will have the ability to damage eachother". Really??
and haypro loses again, gg.
Haypro busily microing his burrowed infestors at Slush's third and loses the majority of his army.
Yeah, the fact that the sound actually got worse makes me pretty sad. That being said, the recording schedule means that todays matches were recorded before yesterday's were broadcast, so they may not have had enough time to react to the feedback. The audio really is terrible, which makes me sad. I really want this to succeed.
Haha haypro concentrated on microing the wrong thing at the wrong time... Tried to be fancy by fungaling some drones, in the meanwhile loses his whole army. Really cheering for Slush, hopefully he will win.
Haypro, trying to harass and miscontrols his army. Slushs's game to lose now
I'm speechless liquid's just cursed recently I don't even know whats going on.
Slush has a huge sup lead
Slush is so far ahead ... but Haypro's defense was really impressive.
Slush corners Haypro's last hope-the infestors-at the 3rd of Haypro.
That was the most heroic zvz defense i've ever seen...
Didn't get recognized at all though >.<.
These two really dont know the subtleties of zvz. It's not really their fault that they don't. They'd have to play zerg to know them, but it's certainly unfortunate.

WTF... how did Haypro claw his way back in this... amazing defense.
Haypro engages a reallly good fight
Haypro's last hope with brood lords might fail with corruptors getting transfused by slush.
Lol, this zvz is so ridiculous, broodlord corrupter queen vs corrupter queen
Wow, sickest ZvZ so far post patch!
Go hayprO, just because the comeback would be all the more amazing!
Does Haypro have a chance?

This game is so silly. Of course it turns into a base trade in Slush's favor. He should fall back and defend though.
wow this turned into an epic zvz
An epic ZvZ whaaaaaat? Haypro :/
Sheth fungaled burrowed roaches against SEn on stream. Was so funny because he was just trying to fungal an uprooted spine lol.

Macro ZvZ? Whaaa? I feel like both Haypro and Slush could have ended it at various point, but fun none the less.

Great effort by Haypro! Slush takes the series 2-1.
Why didn't Haypro try to kill all of Slush's buildings? I think he could have killed them first.
does anyone else feel like haypro could have had that if he just threw down a bunch of infested terran to snipe down the brood lords? So many infestors with full mana died there it seemed...
Damnit Haypro, why didn't you just try to finish the base trade. You knew he had a much larger army

Can't believe Slush let it come to something that tense. He has an enormous advantage

I like this background music lol

Would have thought haypro would have either left behind a couple roaches to pressure slush's last buildings or leave 1 infestor + a lot of ITs, but amazing/weird game. Well played by both players.

If there's one thing I learned about Haypro is that he's just way too passive. He was way ahead for a bit there, but he just let Slush catch up.

IdrA just played an awesome set of games in the IPL.

What's wrong with Haypro nowadays. It seems like he is slumping lately..

That was an excellent game. I really wish they could have a commentator familiar with zerg though, because I don't think they recognized how amazing some of those situations were.
It's worth noting that Slush has been one of the most consistently underrated players since beta. He is pretty quiet with tournament results but has had some unbelievable games steadily across the history of starcraft 2 so far.

Cool player interviews as always!

Slush kinda sounds like Kiwikaki.

I have not seen the games he played today, but the first set he played against Fenix was meh at best. It was a boring walkover for anyone not an Idra fan.

Or just focus on NASL and watch IPL tomorrow cause of free vods, so you don't have to split your attention by watching both at the same time.

Just tuning in, taking a break from IPL. Is it over? Who's playing now?

The reason he doesn't have the plethora of results you seem to expect is because he was in Korea, where I'll remind you, he was for a long time the only foreigner that could compete there. Furthermore, his losses in the past MLGs have been kinda weird. Nazgul made a build specifically to snipe him. He lost to TLO after two cheeses, and still placed as the top zerg.
The very fact people are specifically preparing for him should tell you something. But if it doesn't, look to his GSL preformances - Do you respect HuK or Ret as players? Because they've tried and failed to achieve what Idra did, which was only surpassed by Jinro, who is respected by many as one of the top foreigners.
Seriously. Ask any top player, and ask them who the top foreigner zergs are - Idra will make every list.

Really smart choice to counter attack but it's just too little too late

omg you know nothing do you even watch tournament or just sit like another blind fanboy follower on his stream?
1st. Idra went to round of 8 after 2 very lucky wins in his groups that idra after confirmed it was lucky.
2nd the mlg he won was right after the roach buff patch and go back watch the games his hole tactics was about roach timing pushes!!
3rd he won 1 fight at dreamhack before he got totally exposed by a good players instead of that shit he plays against in NA.
4th yes his mechanics is very strong"macro" however this isnt brute war strong mechanics doesnt mean as much its more about a gameplan and the ability to adapt and suprice aka game intelligence and Idra is very bad at that.
So yea i stand by my oppinion Idra is the most overrated zerg and he is no way near the top zergs in kor and EU.

Looks like it will be gg from axslav soon as his main is almost destroyed. He has two mining bases up but no tech.
This is why this map is terrible....gj dde though.~
dde is a beast with tanks.
wped by DDE wipes out the colossi at his base and slow push's to take out axslav's main.
makes sence that raven now with that PPD after the colossi went down the entire axslav force thats left is worthless.
almost think that fighting now for axslav is bm.

How much damage does PDD do?

For those who have the paid stream for the NASL, can you guys tell me if you can hear the casters sounding like they are echoing? And can you also hear a horrible rumbling when the tanks are shooting? I'm just not sure if it's just my sound card that's causing these problems.

Both games were boring to watch. Got contained, and slowly squeezed dry.
Had time to get blink stalkers (altough PDD sorta neuters that in game 2), phoenix are also a pretty good counter to siege tanks. Anything better than streaming down a narrow ramp and losing everything.

Totally exposed by a good player? Are you kidding me? He was outplaying the best protoss in the world in the hardest matchup in the game (ZvP) and made one game-losing blunder, something relatively easy to do as zerg.
He's repeatedly shown he is strong in terms of game plans (hydra drop allins v air play against Socke) and with solid reads (vs Socke again wherever they last played) but his weakness is in his mindset. He is unquestionably one of the best players in the world and if he ever learns to keep his cool and manage the mindgames better he will probably be the best zerg in the world.

I would say hes going to win but... omg you know nothing do you even watch tournament or just sit like another blind fanboy follower on his stream? 4th yes his mechanics is very strong"macro" however this isnt brute war strong mechanics doesnt mean as much its more about a gameplan and the ability to adapt and suprice aka game intelligence and Idra is very bad at that. t is no secret you did not think very highly of your first opponent, ieS-Ciara, are there any foreign players you are close to the top tier levels of Korean play? What about White-Ra, he recently beat you in the GSL World Championship tournament, but then you turned around and 3-0’ed him in the TSL 3, what are your thoughts on him as a fellow Protoss player? Presently, the foreign players that I acknowledge are IDRA from Zerg, Jinro from Terran, Huk and White-Ra from Protoss. I think they are really no different from Koreans.
thats MC simple search not that hard

gotta agree with Nerdslayer, until IdrA actually shows results, i'm not impressed. and he didn't outplay MC, in case you haven't heard, MC wants to please the foreigner community, so he actually cut back on timing pushes, because he doesnt want to be flamed. I bet the GSL final vs July MC would have manhandled IdrA.
Then again, doesnt matter, IdrA didnt win, he looked like he might win, then MC stomped his attacks, then IdrA decided move commanding brood lords over blink stalkers was an awesome idea....yeah. IdrA is great, got great game sense, got great mechanics, and once he gets that little X factor, THEN he will be, not only one of the best foreigner zergs, but one of the best zergs period.
As it is, people like DIMAGA and NesTEA and July outclass him

Based on current form, I would not be surprised if Nada looses this.

I would say hes going to win but... omg you know nothing do you even watch tournament or just sit like another blind fanboy follower on his stream? I still have alergies so I'm not going to do all the work I would normaly do but tldr every pro says Idra is amazing and your wrong. who fanboy give me a quote from a pro that says Idra is one of the best zerg in the world?? t is no secret you did not think very highly of your first opponent, ieS-Ciara, are there any foreign players you are close to the top tier levels of Korean play? What about White-Ra, he recently beat you in the GSL World Championship tournament, but then you turned around and 3-0’ed him in the TSL 3, what are your thoughts on him as a fellow Protoss player? Presently, the foreign players that I acknowledge are IDRA from Zerg, Jinro from Terran, Huk and White-Ra from Protoss. I think they are really no different from Koreans. thats MC simple search not that hard its called PR and considering GSL got a huge US crowd ofc he have to say that. but anyway im done with all this idra talk. You can continue to take the blue pill and stay in dreamland as long you want buddy just dont start to whine when idra again wont make it in a top 10 spot in a major sc2 event.
he was just top 10 in MLG dallas lolfest

This is so good, love seeing all these pros delaying speed so much. Don't really need it to defend if you're on creep, why waste drones on gas if you're not attacking?

Canadians cleaning up today hooray!
Comon moonglade you can do this now.

Nada is looking really dead to this
THAT SURROUND. Huge play by Moonglade
Mouse clicking is getting pretty annoying
Nada pushes with about 14 marines. Moonglade is ready with lings and a spine. Nada pulls back again.
Moonglade has a baneling nest down and getting speed. Nada is getting stim and combat shield.
Moonglade pushes with speedlings and banelings. Kills a lot of scv`s and forces a liftoff at the natural for Nada.
Nada must be raging at Blizzard right now for that stim nerf. I know I would be.
Nada's TvZ makes me cry T_T. See so many zerglings should have been able to read that baneling bust.
moonglade doing a ling bling bust nadas only got marines and stim trying his best to hold
holy fuck when did moon make so many drones?

Wow not looking good for Nada right now, so far behind on the worker count.

ok, Gretorp and iNcontroL are fucking hilarious

Moonglade grabs a third in the top left corner. Forces another liftoff at the natural and almost breaks through to Nada`s main.

Oh my god those hero marines dashing through banelings!!

Good baneling aggression from moonglade.
why is the obs keep looking at the zerg base when the fighting is on the other side of the map
Nada does a drop in the main of Moonglade. Does some damage but nothing significant and is cleaned up.
Nada doesn't look sharp in this game
Nadas really got to get that thor count up if he wants to live much longer
go go nada keep it strong
gretorp sounds much, much more comfortable than a week ago, they're really solidifying as a duo
Nada you came back and destroyed MKP this is nothing!
Moonglade hasn't made any creep tumors. Impressive.
Wow I thought Nada was toast after that huge baneling/zergling attack, but he has stabilized and is producing thors and marines against mutas

I feel like Nada's actually going to pull this out. Just a feeling. Like Moonglade's gonna have a huge advantage then run into mass sieged tanks
Moonglade has mutas out. Getting level 1 melee and flyer attack. Nada is going for Thors.
Supply count is 160 to 130 for Moonglade.
Nice sized push for Nada, but moonglade making a lot of banelings.
I belive in nada this is it

Wow, that happened so fast. After taking out his natural, Nada moves in the main and Moonglade taps out. He had no more units to defend with.
wow that was a fucking comeback
jeeeeeezzzzzz, that was ridiculous, he made those units soooooo cost efficient
Nada is amazing. Every game he falls behind, but his macro is so on point and he is so efficient with his spending and his units. Simply amazing. I think he will do well in NASL and GSL this season.

Nada with the non-stop comebacks in every game he's been playing since TSL basically lol <3

4 Hatches, but only 2 queens. That means there was about 16 larvae every 40 seconds, so he couldn't spend his money well enough and wasn't able to keep up the production.
That was fucking crazy game by Nada.
Seriously NaDa just throws off his jacket and comes back from no where!
Moonglade throws all of his mutas away all of his mutas to marines, horrible control by Glade. That lost him the game.
How does he do that?
*Artosis jumps through the wall behind gretorp and iNcontrol*
"BECAUSE HE'S NADA"
NaDa winning makes me happy but really, Crossfire is just so hard to play in as Zerg... but still props to NaDa for taking it with just 27 scvs.
that choke with the combination of no creep really hurt moon
I think Moonglade's initial aggression sac'ing economy ended up making him not as ahead as he appeared. There's those times when Zerg make a ton of drones but because of transfers there's a delay when it kicks in. And the lack of creep tumors was--disturbing. Plus Nada had a big upgrade advantage.
That's why Nada is in Code S and Moonglade isn't even in Code A
Is this game played on the Kor server or US server? Moonglade is in Kor right?

Nada also killed at least 3 queens. One with the drop, and he sacrificed a Thor to go and hunt down the other 2 when he sieged the natural.

Moonglade is droning hard.

I have to admit I'm a bit frustrated. I don't see what glade could have done better in that match. Perfect opening, perfect drone timings and switching into macro. The only thing would have been spreading creep and he just didn't have the resources/energy early to do that. By the time he had the potential nada was pushing out.
He could have had more queens, yes, but he was spending all his gas, so that would have just been a few more lings, which I don't think would have helped that much against a push like that. They just don't do enough to marines with a 1/1 upgrade advantage.
You just can't let terran get anywhere near that high ground choke with tanks, we've seen it twice today already, someone getting up there and no matter how perfectly you play, you cannot be remotely efficient enough to stop the push. I hope it gets tweaked a bit to open up the ramp a bit more.

In regards to your third paragraph, why? So Terran, a race which only wins mid/late-game when they are able to fully set up and get in position, can still be easily overrun after finally getting everything to just outside Zerg's base? I'd prefer to see Zerg's harass the initial push and reinforcements. Force mass leapfrogging across the map. Terran will make a mistake and Zerg will capitalize. Not every map and unit is imba for T or P.
Woohoo! Mass thors incoming? Nada, you're taking my build! Now we see if he goes for the quick +1 vehicle weapon or +1 vehicle armor.
Edit: Guess he picked weapons. I like that against the muta play. Armor works really well to cut damage later.

He suicided his mutalisks, and built no infestors, also suicided too many banelings into tanks, not getting enough marines because nada's positioning and control was awesome. It also would have helped to get a better creep spread and try to stop nada from setting up outside the natural, it's a map thing, once Terran sets up there, it's really hard as zerg to push them away.
Also, nada's macro was amazing, he was producing units ALL the time, he lost an army and a new one was just around the corner.

DAT CONTROL AND MACRO FROM NADA

Nada is never behind, just delayed.

Moonglade REALLY needs to work on his engaging.

Yeah that few seconds of confusion made the NASL look really... amateur. I think the casters should've just paused it on their own.
This is when we see why KeSPA is so strict. Put it in the hands of players and 1) they have to care about it instead of Starcraft 2) they can use to their advantage.

Solid performance from Nada in game 2. GG

Nada you are so damn good. I'm in a huge mancrush...
Seeing NaDa and BoxeR own people left and right is SO AMAZING!!
wow gretorp... i am far away from you and i feel i need to get further away from my screen
Really poor engagement by Moonglade.
Nada just finished taking out the gold expo and moonglade just runs his banelings in siege range, loses a lot of them, and pulls out doing 0 damage.
Nada says thank you, pushes into his natural and Moonglade taps out.
Im so impressed by the stream today now its starting to look like a pro tournament and wow nada is sick
nada taking out his school stress on moonglade
-THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF FINAL EXAMS-
NaDa... so he goes to the gym, to the uni and has such a beastly macro/micro skills in SC2? It has to be good to be him.
rofl at incontrol's look at gretorp. Clearly thinking what we all are.
I'm loving Gretorp + Incontrol Nice game by Nada!
I love that NaDa and BoxeR are both doing much better recently
Man Nada, staying around 100 minerals if there are deficiencies in Nada's play his Macro is certainly overshadowing it.
It's ridiculous how well he controls his army and macro, on point Nada is just so beastly.

Wow this is THE most embarrasing casting I have ever heard. They must feel so uncomfortable I almost feel sorry for Incontrol and Gretorp. Watched the Nada-Moonglade match. Oh and what is really annoying is the mouseclicking in the background. I guess nerds crushed the souls of this casting duo...

I hope it gets tweaked a bit to open up the ramp a bit more.
hope you're not srs. Perfect opening? He over reacted to the 2 rax and then went on to never spread creep.

Definitely enjoying the NASL more now that I'm watching it through IE instead of Chrome.
Much better when it doesn't lag and becomes unwatchable.
$25 well spent. Will look forward to the rest of the season.

Are you kidding? Inc and Gretorp have been hilarious this week and still give us great analysis. The commentating has been absolutely great as of late.
This casting combo is really gelling. I'm sort of surprised since both these guys are more co-caster color types than play by play and I was thinking they would be better split up and paired with play by play guys. Incontrol can kind of be the play by playish guy even though it doesn't suit his strengths, but gretorp just doesn't have the voice for it. They are making me re-think that though because of the chemistry they're building.
Would you guys REALLY recommend that last game? Seriously? I mean, if you're a complete NaDa fanboy, yea, but it was a pretty quick and solid domination from one side.

Incontrol and gretorp as a casting duo are slowly endearing themselves imo. I am not a hatter or anything so when I say I was not super sold on them after the first week do not think its bias, however, watching other cast tournaments I find myself missing there awkward word choices and random inside jokes that completely fly over my head. I believe my favorite moments are when there is a prediction of tech or tech switching, which turns out to be incorrect, instead of just moving on the ALWAYS point out just how wrong the other (or themselves) are! Love it!

I can't see gretorp casting well with anyone

I do not mind the commercials. I just was wondering why they come on right as the game starts. Is that intended or just a mistake?
If you every caught Inc and Gretorp casting the GCPL together this is the casting you would expect from them. They just seem more comfortable this week and it is showing.
If NASL can just fix the audio levels it will be damn good. The audio is much clearer so they have been improving it, but the music and sounds are still too high. Each show they improve, this league is going places.

Kawaii winning not much of an upset ^^ OK maybe slightly considering even he predicted a loss, but the kid's very good. TvZ god (although considering his mass marine style we'll see how Infestors work out).

Wow. So first Nada doesn't play as per the schedule on the sidebar, so I presume he's on last. Then I switch back and the games have already been played. This tournament's a mess.

Kawaii gets supply blocked so much.

Just tuned in since IGN is over, what's with the music? lol

I just don't feel a timing should be that strong after that much damage being done by the zerg. nada pretty much made that off of one base, he never had his natural mining long enough with saturation to pay for the push costs.
even if he did play immaculately with his composition and control, glade did too up until he sacked his mutas. For those who say add infestors, they obviously haven't faced this themselves. You don't go infestor vs tank heavy tank/bio, you use it vs bio heavy builds with light tank support. if they have that many tanks, who cares if you fungal the bio, it's still not gonna help your ling/bane clear up that many tanks. If you try and go muta/bane/infestor at the same time you just don't have enough stuff. That timing came out quickly, it was moving out as the first mutas finished. Glade would have had to have dropped his infestation pit almost at the same time as his spire to have infestors with enough energy out to defend that push, and then he wouldn't have had nearly as many mutas to clear the tanks afterwards.
I think nada would have probably won regardless, he's an incredible player, but the fact it was so one sided even after he took such a pounding early shows the problem with that particular map. Glade's composition was as close to ideal as it is possible to be against that particular unit comp from nada at that time, he had the food lead, the base lead, the worker lead, the army lead, he knew it was coming and it still rolled him over.

If they are using the normal jtv interface (type /commercial on chat) they could just add 30s breaks on the broadcast and do it in the beginning. But NASL fails in so many ways we can't expect to understand them all.

And now game 2 is live instead of replay. Good job to NASL for not making a big deal about whatever the reason was, and good editing it together, I hardly noticed.

I just was wondering why they come on right as the game starts. Is that intended or just a mistake? I think it's because they are intended to go as a inter-game thing but they didn't time it right. If they are using the normal jtv interface (type /commercial on chat) they could just add 30s breaks on the broadcast and do it in the beginning. But NASL fails in so many ways we can't expect to understand them all. Most likely de-sync issues with some people being ahead and some people being behind in the stream is causing this; I wouldn't blame NASL, stop the mindless hate in this thread.
Oh, them its sort of jtv fault if you cant control when the ad will show up. No hate towards NASL at all, actually IPL holds the title of biggest fuck up of the season when the entire league results were leaked.

I mean when are they going to get this right, i payed 25 bucks and this is completely unnaceptable =/ After seeing how easy the IPL makes it look i realise that NASL just didnt plan/organize the NASL properly they should have done tons of test to make sure all this shit worked before they sell it to people. Uhm, IGN is a huge corporation that has been doing this sort of stuff for ages. NASL is two weeks old. Please, even GSL has mistakes. Okay sorry, i mean its not like the NASL promised unmatched production quality, oh wait.... they did. I think i have the right to feel ripped off. Honestly encoding video and sound shouldnt be a big deal at all for someone who knows what they are doing, how hard is it to hire someone that knows what they are doing? even just to show the guys that are currently doing it how to do it properly? Im not really asking for that much hear, just adequate sound and video quality for somethign i payed for , the framerate still seems pretty low and i know its stream side not my computer side as everything else runs 1080p fine and im running dual sli and 3.0ghz quad core....
Well this is what you get for believing the hype. I was certain from the moment of the announcement that this will need time to grow and that they will have a lot of growing pains.

Incontrol is saying things that could potentially hurt players like "you made him look silly" or "it is like a grown man beating up a child". I don't think other commentators in professional sports do that.
In return, if Kawaii shows middle finger to Incontrol during the interview after next time he wins, he will have a justified reason.

Well to be fair strelok would've gotten WRECKED except they seemed to have missed the massive EMP on the ball that took away shields from like half the units.
music out of nowhere
don't mind the music during the between games but it being louder than the casters is a bad thing
Hahaha the music is back!
squirtle engaged at the worst possible position.

On April 23 2011 13:03 mierin wrote: wtf...the game has been over for one minute, why are people still talking about strelok being supply blocked?
The stream below "best" settings is like 2 minutes delayed. Not sure why
It looks like the colossi were attacking spread unit groups instead of the more clumped groups up north.
Is this a Starcraft-remixed song? I expected gun bangs and heard forcefields... lol
The music is so loud and random, that I literally have checked to see if I have another window open on the internet playing music numerous times.. lol
Background music is not working for me either... at all!!
Lower volume and pure instrumental would be great, but over the casters is kinda dumb
Music with lyrics as background music is really distracting.
No idea how strelok was able to hold that, but very well done
These two have more scandalous predictions than Mrs. Cleo..
MUSIC SUCKS INCONTROL. TURN THAT OFF.
Another item to the collection "how the fuck they thought that was a good idea?"
S2 NASL
GG strelok
The music is a good addition, though they might want to switch it to something without vocals..
Two base all-in failed because of no FFs (EMP hit all the sentries) + a donated colossus up north.

The music is a really nice touch, I think they should turn it on at different times in the stream though, at the beginning, and end of the stream, and maybe at the beginning and end of games.
nasl im a fan of the song however when i'm trying to here u guys talk after the game while talking with my friends....ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS. Never play music and talk again k thnx

I should have had more faith in Strelok with the passion he showed in last weeks interview.

Most high level players would call that in favor of the Protoss too. I definitely would too, as a low number of vikings vs 3+ Colossus is almost always a bio massacre.

Only when bioball is composed primarily by marines, to beat marauder balls you need less stalkers, more zealots, hopefully chargelots, and at least 4 collossi.

They didn't miss it, they noted that the first one missed the sentries which it pretty much did. Incontrol actually said straight up that the second EMP hit the sentries. Why so much forced hate?

Strelok so good, he knew what he was doing. I'm shocked by his play, and a new fan.

Gretorp made an excellent point. If you see a CC with low energy but no mules mining near it, then there's a hidden base somewhere out there.

The morale of this game is to always actively scout with an observer!

Stupid attack by Squirtle. Really not liking this new style he is doing.

what an awful build by Squirtle
this is the same guy that took down MVP in GSTL

Strelok's going into Drewbie mode. Poor Squirtle losing to a hidden CC. Also Gretorp gave some really good info about those MULEs being missing from the main and natural=hidden base. Apparently Squirtle didn't know that.

The quality of the stream just continues to get better! Great games tonight, thank you NASL!
Both of his builds were strong timing attacks. The first was more all-in than the second and Strelok barely held it with good EMPs. The second game was simply Squirtle not putting in the effort to scout the map even after he saw no mules in Strelok's base.
God Bless the Warship, the early hiccups of the NASL are passing by and it's becoming quite the enjoyable league. While there's still minor issues with the audio, the quality of the games makes up for it.

nasl getting better for sure. they fixed the fps omg i am in heaven. it doesnt hurt my eyes as much. NOT as smooth as IPL YET but I am sure they will ramp it up!

much less volume to it

That was pretty dominating from strelok. He's looking on top of his game.
Also, great job casting today, getting progressively better as you guys both get more comfortable.
Fantastic set of games tonight. Learnt a lot from close to every series. The best would have to be the siege contains used against Axslav. Never seen a Terran be so unforgiving in TvP.
I agree with them on the articles, but with all the games, competitions and content coming up, it's becoming increasingly hard to follow it all
Not as good games as I was hoping for considering the sick match-ups tonight, but my Fantasy NASL is appeased.

I'd love it if they could refine the sound of the casters. It still isn't as clear as I'd like it to be.

Ace has had no results before or after he won IEM. Squirtle had one epic match against MvP where he was allowed free reign to do whatever he wanted. Both have failed to produce any other result before or since their claim to fame happened. So until then I will keep saying both are overrated.

Eh, I don't think he is overrated at all. A few weeks ago in that showmatch with White-Ra he went like what? 8-2? Seems like he wasn't playing like his usual self in NASL.

Pretty sure you could replace Ace with almost anyone from the NASL/TSL/IPL and they'd still probably have been the favourite to win that LAN lol.

Happy to see Strelok won, he's such a beast and having a bad day @ the TSL really didn't do him justice. Fortunately that seems to have given him a bit more determination since he's been performing rather well since then ^^
Also yay for DDE =)

Does anyone understand the point system in the NASL? Specifically how losers are in negative points? Shouldn't they just stay at 0 points then?

Points are a players total map score
i.e.
Player A wins 2-0 / wins 2-1 = 4-1 score Player B loses 1-2 / wins 2-0 = 3-2 score Player C wins 2-1 / loses 0-2 = 2-3 score

They did, I should have done the extra step to simplify into one accumulated total. If you check the standings table that's how it displays with overall record and score, I was just illustrating how it is worked out ^^
=========================
I really hope they provide some more LQ vod options soon, JTV is so terrible and it takes me hours to buffer things on it in HQ
I wish Gretorp would change his vocabulary a bit. He often uses 'mathy' words like conjunction or retention, and every time I hear it I have to wait a moment before my brain processes what he said.
Maybe my expectations for moonglade were too high after his IEM preformance but he's been really really bad since then .
ALSO WTF IS HAPPENING TO TEAMLIQUID D:
Does anyone know how to view the vods in lower quality? They quality is weird, and stutter, and is choppy, even if I let it buffer for a while so it looks like it's loaded before?
My pc have no problem with GSL, youtube 1080p, or downloaded videos in 1080p, so I don't think it's my pc that is broken, just some weird setting.

LOL, of course he is. Not really, he's as overrated as St-Ace is. Ace is not overrated he performs well in foreign tourney but chokes in GSL for some reason but i have to agree Squirtle is bit overrated Ace has had no results before or after he won IEM. Squirtle had one epic match against MvP where he was allowed free reign to do whatever he wanted. Both have failed to produce any other result before or since their claim to fame happened. So until then I will keep saying both are overrated.
Agreed, they're both majorly overrated.
Moonglade is another interesting one. Had amazing results really at IEM, stomping all the top foreign talent there (Sjow, Socke, Morrow, Fenix etc) as well as beating Squirtle once. Since then i've seen him do very little at all.

Isn't that a double standard though? Aside from winning IEM Ace has accomplished nothing so I'll maintain it was a fluke or w/e and say he's overrated. Moonglade kinda falls on the same boat though. Aside from preforming well at IEM all i've seen is him losing and not even qualifying for Code A

Hey, um... I really wanted to see Naniwa's games and I set my alarm clock for 03:30 here in Sweden so I could catch the games, but I overslept anyway and missed the broadcast. The EU re-broadcast is not on the TL tracker thingy, so my question is:
Will NASL begin at 18:00 CET today or what?

Yes i think so i'm on the nasl website and the steam is live with a presentation of the player http://nasl.tv/
And also Ace won a big tournament in australia ... and squirtle is HUGELY overrated.

EU rebroadcast starting now!

I was putting them in the same category, I've only seen losses from glade since IEM, even vs non Koreans

For whatever reason, the rebroadcast is not listed on the calender. Go figures.

I watched the Morrow-TLO series now, and I think NASL improving noticeably, especially the casting. Incontrol and Gretorp are starting to act more natural.
Is Nasl still restreamed every day? Cant see it in the events anymore right side of the page.
