Gotta admit deL, I love the Combat-EX choice.

It's interesting i suppose and should bring in some viewers, but I feel like he might not deserve an opportunity to get to participate in events like this. He is beyond foul mannered.
I expect the event to be great either way though. FXO has yet to dissapoint! :D

nice, looking forward to watch combatex play with his cheese and bm
|
I really, really, really, really (etc.) hate CombatEX. Good choice, though, because I'll tune in to see him get raped. Please also get IdrA so we can have a potential IdrA - Cruncher rematch!

wow CombatEX...makes Idra look like the sweetest angel with the amount of BM he does

The order of play has been determined randomly, good spread of races I think so hopefully not too many mirror matches:
Order of Play
Game 1 sixjaxTerran vs FXOpTiKzErO
Game 2 dignitas.KiLLeR vs Winner
Game 3 VTAzz vs Winner
Game 4 FXOmOoNan vs Winner
Game 5 vileHasHe vs Winner
Game 6 CombatEX vs Winner
Game 7 FXOSheth vs Winner
Game 8 coL.CrunCher vs Winner
Game 9 eMg.DarkCell vs Winner
Game 10 fnaticMSI.Fenix vs Winner
|
I love this format sooo much. Finally some diversion from the usual.
With the order that has been determined, I see the best chances for sixjaxTerran to make the highest streak.

The invite of Combat-EX instantly generated 100% more interest. I don't know whether to laugh or puke. Well-played sir, well-played indeed.

CombatEx.. Really? My brain literally hurts when reading his name.
If he is invited you better get Chill in here :p

No ROOT? That makes me a little sad, to be honest!
All the same! Backing Sheth to the hills!

On an unrelated note: will this be streaming live, del, or will the broadcast be delayed?

However, Unstable is having his wisdom teeth taken out this week so there may be a last-minute replacement Streal URL remains the same though as Unstable will be controlling the camera regardless.

I hope unstable is with HBF

Hahaha ya that's the first name I noticed as well... especially after he said he doesn't really play tournaments on Destiny's stream, but said he had good results in the ones he did play in. Anyway, it sucks Destiny isn't on the list either before or after him for an epic grudge match. I hope they let him talk shit during the game.

going to enjoy combatex getting trashed.
|
I was like Combat-Ex, wtf, but then I can imagine you'll invite him in because of people wanting to see a car wreck, I bet he'll bring in some 'interesting' games. Will he continue his 'begging for wins'? Who knows, let's tune in and find out. I can always watch IPL on the kick-ass VODs.

Don't get this as "event bashing", I am talking only about system:
I really don't get it what is positive side of KOTH format. It is just stupid, you have 11 awesome players and for instance sixjaxTerran has to play 10 matches to win and fnaticMSI.Fenix only one. Also how did you determine order of play?
Meh... I never understood KOTH, it is just illogical that this type of tournament can be used for big events like FXOpen.
|
Terran has a chance to get the biggest streak though, Fenix does not. And that's the biggest payout. It's not a completely even system, but it's interesting enough. And it means they can have that number of pretty good players and not have to run 50 games.

Meh... I never understood KOTH, it is just illogical that this type of tournament can be used for big events like FXOpen. Terran can play 3 games and win $200 like Maka did in the Korean event. The prizemoney is split between biggest win streak and the last man standing. The main motivator here is something small to fill in between the bigger events, it isn't so draining on the players and still delivers the entertainment of a bigger event to viewers and is short and sweet to organise and run.

After your answers I once more readt OP and it seems I have to pay more attention because I didn't see that biggest prize is for winning streak and that order of play was randomly determined. Also I didn't look at this tourney as "filler" giving that such good players are participating but it has more sense now after you explained. Thanks!
Anyway, can't wait for the games. Thanks FXOpen! :-)

FXOpTiKzErO vs sixjaxTerran starting now!

It seems to have stabilized for me now. The image itself seems a bit choppy, but the sound is good.

Hahahahaha was just going to pass this tournament by and then saw that Combat Ex is playing. Now it's a must watch.
Seriously this should be spotlighted with "He Returns...."
Really brilliant move Del. I'm assuming the reason WAS the popularity he would bring, right?
|
What's up with XSplit watermark on a lot of streams nowadays? (sry I am noob streaming-wise :D)

Why no, he is a genuine competitor and respected high level sorry can't keep a straight face Nah it will be interesting to see how he goes, though he hasn't logged on yet maybe he got cold feet!

Disappointed with the surprising absence of Piqliq, though.

Combat EX? What the fuck guys?
|
Loving the commentary regarding CombatEX :D
|
Well, CombatEX is missing.
coLstalife replaces him.
|
CombatEX noshow, coL.stalife replaces.
|
Did you honestly think he will show? He has that kind of personality without any respect or kindness. Inviting him was mistake at first place.
Nice games btw. :>
