Meet in Channel HSSTL
Each Team Match will be on each Saturday, at 9:10 pm EST.
If the coordinator of the other team does not show up by 9:10 pm, they will automatically forfeit the Match.*
If the coordinator's team does not start the next set (in-game) in 5 minutes, they will automatically forfeit that Set.*

Map Version/Author Notes:
+ Show Spoiler +MLG is the same version as the GSL versions of the Blizzard maps they use in GSL/GSTL : The bottom of the ramps cannot be walled off with 2 3x3 buildings and you can not spawn close ground positions.
For Typhon Peaks, just use the version uploaded by Blizzard.
Format
[Bo7] GSTL / Winner's League
Best of 7
1) Both teams will announce their player rosters [Character.Code.Race]. The lower seeded team will present their roster first.
2) Both teams will pick their first player without knowing the opponent's choice. To do this, follow the steps:
1. Coordinator of the higher seeded team (the team above the other in the Challonge! brackets) will create the game.
2. The Coordinator of the higher seeded team will then have his first player join the game. If the Coordinator will play first, do not have another teammate join yet.
3. When ready, the Coordinator will let the opponent team's Coordinator know, and the opponent team's Coordinator will send in his first player.
4. The first player of each team in the game (with the exception of the Host Coordinator if he is not playing) will be the players to play in the Set 1.
If there is a conflict, then you can resort to whisper/PM in SC2 your first player, and we will announce the players to both teams and that will allow you to start your Match.

3) The loser of the previous set is out for the rest of the Match. The winner stays in until he is defeated, of which he will also be out for the rest of the Match.
4) The first team to run out of players or lose 4 sets will lose the Team Match.
Players may change race between Matches, but not between Sets.
The winner of the previous set will host the map.
All observers must be spectators except for HSSTL Referees.
Each spectator is allowed only if both coordinators from both teams agree.
If one of the players types "lag", or requests observers to leave, then everyone except the Referees are required to leave immediately. If a spectator on the opposite team remains in the game after 10 game seconds, the spectator's team may be subject to an automatic forfeit for that Set.
Playoffs
Brackets; the top two teams with the highest matches in each group will advance, with a total of 24 teams in the playoffs out of ~71. Single Elimination, Bo7. Finals will be Bo9.
More details to come. Each match will take place each saturday like in the group stages; the playoffs will start right after round 5 of the group stages (1 round of each group stage round per week, then the next week playoffs start, so there is 1 match every week until the last saturday of June)

As always, if you want to cast, you're welcome! Anyone can cast at least once, regardless of skill. Only when we feel your casting does not meet our standards will be not "allow" you to cast next time.

We won't be able to moderate each game so you will talk with your team and then do like a countdown and announce to the other team or have everyone join a game and the first one each team puts in plays

1 round will be on each saturday; some groups will have teams that only play 4 rounds over 5 weeks, due to the way round robin works
the groups with only 5 teams are the ones where each team will only have to play 4 rounds

3) for now, no, as it is only one 1-2 hour match, and i think everyone should be able to take at least a couple hours off as a break, let alone having breaks on other days -- plus, you don't have to be there for the entire team match (will most likely allow co-coordinators)

They're not playing in a bo7 though, not each individual player. The TEAMS are playing in a bo7. Atleast from what I understand.

This is how GSTL format works: Each team anonymously picks 1 player, those players play a 1v1, the losing player is knocked out and his team must decide on a new player to send in, the player who won will keep racking up wins for his team until he loses or gets to 4, and so on

I'm from Skyline High School, and we've been changed into the New England group... were not listed to be in Round 1. Does this seriously mean we don't play Saturday? If so I'm gonna be dissapointed...
EDIT: Also, it says we play Fordham Prep in the 3rd round, and they only have two players...

Also guys, sorry about this, didn't realize there were so many teams with less than 5 players in them, but apparently zalien has PMs from them with their rosters, so after I get them out, I'll post them in the old thread so you can TL search easily, and from there we'll see what to do with the teams who don't have 5 (we may just drop them, but keep the schedules the same; basically, autoforfeit for every match...)

Also, since teams are required to have teams of 5, wouldn't it be best for a bo10? And if teams don't have enough players.. that just means they will have to knock 5 players out, and that the opposing team only has to knock 4 out... If they couldn't organize well enough thats their own fault =/ Just trying to optimize the amount of participation from whole teams ^^ many teams have around 11 players like ours so yeah

Can we have a rule that all players currently playing must set their status to "busy" as to limit cheating from whispers? I know and hope many players will not cheat, but some precations might be nice

Well if people dont have inclinations to cheat that is fine, but if their teammate is losing and it is the last game, they might be tempted to do so since they are both already on starcraft and can just send a whisper.
The games should be streamed live even encouraged, since teamates will be ingame with you anyways unless of lag but if not can watch a livestream. But if teammates cant watch as spectator because of the other teams choice and if their games arent being stream lived, kinda takes the fun out for everyone else.
Why does it take the fun out? Well would you rather watch the gsl players playing live, or wait quietly at your computer until it is posted who won?

You can always add players just update it in the High School Starcraft Team League thread please, with a new post (quote the old one).
Also, yes you will say the first 7 players on your roster for that day. Meaning you can only play with these 7 people on that day; so no u don't give everyone on your team.

It is something that has to be dealt with; that form of cheating can't be stopped but whoever does so will only have the enjoyment of winning unfairly, and hopefully they will not choose to do so. Also, you can cheat in game with observers too, or even coordinators. Coordinators (at the least) need to watch so they can pick their next player.

Round 2 was kinda ridiculous for our our team. We lost by forfeit cause we were late by 10 minutes and these guys wouldn't play. SO much for sportsmanship in this league. They wouldn't even get their players back on sc cause they just want some retarded free win. When they COULD play they instead chose to take a free win and leave.

Thanks for that. It seems both times their opponents didn't show up so they gave themselves the win. I'm assuming that the 5 score is a mistake from thinking the matches are Bo9 instead of Bo7.

Question, if a team only shows up with 3 players, and you beat those three players, does the third win count as two wins/a forfeit on the fourth game for that team? Or are brackets left as 3-0 victory but less overall points

Haha. You mean made it through the groups or what? I used to play HoN (and before that, DotA for 2 years). But I'm a poor kid so I didn't buy HoN (waiting for DotA 2!). Plus the HoN community was even worse than DotA's xD (iccup dota).
