White-Ra and NaNiWa both didn't have legitimate excuse for their behavior. They knew NASL and DH schedule beforehand and should have planned accordingly. You already have a player abusing your leniency so we are past slippery slope here. Although I don't know the exact rules for NASL but I believe not showing up to scheduled matches and causing your opponent wait for hours without a good reason warrants a warning, and DQ if it happens again. You're going to DQ the winner of the most recent MLG and probably the best protoss outside of Korea? Give me a break. WTF. So we give preferential treatment now? Why is White-Ra 'above the law'? wtf.

No, I'm saying NASL can be flexible.

And everyone wants esports to be taken seriously...how about the actual competitors show up. White-ra was sort of unfortunate...but Naniwa is just being an ass and really unprofessional. Start being professional and maybe your "Sport" will be taken seriously in the future and attract more sponsors.

If they're going to do eSPORTS right, they have to be strict. Just because Naniwa won a tournament does not mean he suddenly has authority over the scheduling of the games. In fact, the rules should be so strict that if a player is late, there is NO OPTION but auto DQ unless there is a valid reason. And no, "I'm tired" is not a valid reason.
Imagine if Kobe said "guy's, I'm too tired. Let's play tomorrow instead." yeah right.
I know this isn't the same level, but I would not want to follow a league of inconsisitencies and rulings on the spot based on how people "felt" at the time.
You snooze, you lose.

Who cares how good he is?
Rules need to be enforced, regardless of how good a player is. Hell, even MC or MVP would need to forfeit their matches (their opponents would get walkovers) if they didn't show up to a match like this. Rules should apply to everyone and the regulators should act consistently towards all players.
Whatever the consequences or punishments end up being, they should be made standard and consistent towards all players. It doesn't matter if it's Boxer or MC or Idra or Joe Nobody.

Some people just don't listen to reason and thorough explanations given by the league AND other spectators.

NASL is allowing TT1 to play in league even though he cheated in broodwar, etc.

It is off for me as well, and that would line up wth what geoff said

It means walkover, as in the other person didnt show up, so it's essentially a disqualification for that one match

Naniwa needs to stop being a prick...doesn't he already have a bad rep in parts of the community anyways?

This is so stupid. 2 hour delay? Really? =/

People, there are 25 series being played every week, which all need to have the NASL Observers in them as well. Think people... it's not simple "flexible"
