I believe they chose the players based on entertainment value. They didn't want to pick a clear favorite like MC, or someone who wouldn't take the NASL seriously like the peeps invited to TSL who didn't prepare for the latency/lag.
Unfortunately in Day 1 we were already exposed to Rainbow's lag-loss, but I'm assuming Ensnare was picked because he's in the oGs house, is in the GSL, and his TvT is amazing and his past games have been very remarkable?

Based on the morrow vs rainbow game last night it seems like the lag from Korea is horrible. Rainbow was barely able to even stay in the game he kept getting the lag out screen all the time and you could see him give unit directions and they would be delayed by seconds. Yeah, I don't even know why they counted that series in Morrow's favor. It wasn't a fair fight in the slightest.
They were the most pitiful games to watch. Though I think Rainbow just played stupid in game 1... game 2 was a lag joke.

They are so many good Koreans out there. I like the fact that not only the best are invited to TSL, NASL, etc. all over again. Its fun to see theSTC in FXOpens and Moon/Ace in IEM. I would have hoped for even more new faces.

I agree about the casters, but what's wrong with live-recorded? They're actually better than casting from replays- i.e. TSL3 still not as exciting as TSL3, and where are these epic production values they were talking about, its so plain. I regret paying i dont feel like im getting my money's worth ><
casters are really really meh and thats the biggest letdown for me so far. Its mostly gretorp i cant really stand him

Yesterday the excellent games made up for the growing pains. Not the case so far today unfortunately.
Tastosis regularly salvage awful games by being entertaining, and the GSL as a whole is just more polished. Thats to be expected given how much longer the GSL has been running and how much more experience as commentators Tastosis have. Things will improve with time

Nice to know there's no mods in here to get rid of the trolls...

"It feels alright... I just got done with Dreamhack..." That's really one of the only downsides of this format. Each individual win doesn't necessarily mean that much. There are enough players in each division that you can lose a couple games and still come out alright.
If the players are smart they'll be putting a lot on each individual win. Granted $15,000 wasn't on the line in this series with TT1, but if they want to get top 2 in their group even dropping a single series can be disastrous.
On another note, it seemed like TT1 almost threw those games. Like...that was really, really, bad.

For two days old NASL is doing pretty good.. stop whining.

The TSL is also recorded. TSL has better production and casters. However, it's TL's 3rd so they've got experience. NASL is trying though. They may improve with time. Is it me or this is the TYPICAL INTERNET UGLINESS?
They put together an impressive domestic league and all everyone does is bitch about how everything sucks.
Jesus freakin' Christ. Why don't YOU put together a league? I know negativity bandwagon on internet is so easy to hop on to, but give them a break.

Isn't the $25 primarily for the ability to catch VODs?

I honestly can't even tell and it avoids any major lag problems/drop screens being an issue. Casting from replays loses the authenticity of the game and the hype, but then again, this current negotiated setup doesn't seem to be much better. It's either replays with controlled setting or live events with TV cameras like the GSL (for me).
