elevengaming vs. The World
A showmatch series
Overview
North American eSports organization elevengaming, in partnership with Bigfoot Networks, are happy to announce a new showmatch series. With showmatches getting more and more popular within the community, we're excited to bring a new, fresh perspective to showcase top north american Starcraft II talent. Over the next ten to fourteen weeks, elevengaming will take on challengers from across the continent, with one of the largest cash and product prize pools available for a showmatch series in North America.
Format
Each week, a member of elevengaming's Starcraft II team (henceforth referred to as "the player") will begin a series of BO5 matches against various applied and invited "challengers" from current and former top 200 (Grandmaster) players. If a challenger beats the "player," the challenger will immediately take the prize pool - a minimum of $100 in prizes and cash. If the "player" wins the BO5 match, a few things will happen: First, the prize pool will raise an additional $20 in cash for each series won. The same player will also continue onto another BO5 match during the next scheduled cast. This cycle will continue until the player is either defeated, OR wins four BO5 series without losing. If the player is able to win four matches without a loss, they will be crowned winner, and take the prize pool they have built throughout the week. Whether the player manages to win four sets, or loses the first one, the following week, a new "player" from elevengaming will step up and start the process over. We will continue this showmatch series until all members of the team have been defeated, or been crowned winner.
Prize Pool
-9x Bigfoot Networks Killer2100 Gaming Network Cards -Up to $1000 in Cash
Every new player will start with a winnable prize pool of one "Killer2100" BigFootNetworks Gaming Network Card ($80 value), and $20 in cash. With each BO5 match won by the player, $20 cash will be added to the prize pool. If any challenger wins a BO5 series, they will take the accrued prize pool immediately, with a new player beginning the following week. The prize pool for these showmatches can range from the starting gaming card+$20 to a fourth week player finale of the Killer2100 card+$80!
The Challengers
It's an open challenge! Parties interested in participating can apply to be a challenger for this event by filling out the form (link below). Please note that we are only looking for very high masters/grandmaster level players who are currently, or have in the recent past, been in the top 200. If you are not grandmaster level, but feel that you would be an exceptional choice, you may apply and state your case. You must also play primarily on the NA server, and be available to play evenings on eastern standard time. Challengers will be eligible to play in this series one time, regardless of whether they win or lose, and are not able to choose which player they face. Please only apply once, we will not lose your application. If you fill out the form completely, meet the qualifications listed above, and we feel that you would be a good addition to the showmatch, we will get in touch with you.
The Players
elevengaming's entire Starcraft II roster will be participating in this event. We are:
xiDomino xiNizzy xiLost xiExO xiGerbil xiBinski xiSlurgi xiLith xiWarden
Each player will play until they are eliminated or have won four matches in a row. The list above is not neccesarily the order in which we will be playing.
Casting
CatsPajamas will be casting these events live twice a week! You can tune in at the scheduled times by going to CatsPajamas' stream channel. (Link below)
The Sponsors
elevengaming will be hosting this event, as well as providing the cash part of the prize pool. Our sponsor, Bigfoot Networks, continues to support the Starcraft eSports community with a prize pool that includes their line of Killer2100 Gaming Cards.

hi bluewaffle.643 here,
i'm a baller and going to submit an app to be a contender. I'm known as being quite waffly and make the crowd start roflying. would be nice to be chosen.
oh and sup slurg/exo/lost if you're reading this.
|
sick series @_@... looking forward to it
|
Thank you for all the applications already guys! We've had almost two dozen so far, and some big, big names on the NA scene interested. Don't be intimidated to submit your application, though, if you are a lesser-known name. We're shooting to have almost everyone playing as a top 200 player, but are definitely looking to showcase at least a few players that are very good, but may not be as well known already. Most of us can certainly relate =)
Everyone please remember that it could be this week or nine weeks from now before we contact you about this showmatch. We're really glad the early interest is this great, and look forward to putting on a good show.
|
Very Excited to finally see this posted! My players are informed and should be applying tomorrow when they get the email.
Wondering if it might be helpful to include an expected start time and application deadline in the OP?

awesome stuff guys <3 eleven gaming

This will be interesting to get to see a full line up show match of an up and coming team, looks like it could produce a lot of great entertaining games, really nice sponsors as well!

LOL! Okay, I'm making the first "rule." If Hawk plays in this event he must 100% play xiLost. Also trash talk before/during the match is strongly enforced.
|
We have announced the first player and challenger for this event. While the first match will take place this Thursday at 11pm EST, we will be setting a regularly scheduled twice-a-week format - earlier in the evening on Tuesdays and Fridays. Keep an eye on "schedule & results" in the OP for updated info.
We will be doing a short interview with each challenger that will go up they day before they face off against our player. A post-match interview is also in the works. Check out elevengaming.com for those updates in the next 24 hours!

Antimage, please check your e-mail or get in touch with me [Dom] on battle.net.
For reference, asking to play in this thread will absolutely not get you chosen more quickly, and as it says in the OP, you do not get to choose who you face. Antimage was actually asked to be our Tuesday night participant before this post was made.
We welcome discussion and more about this series, and it's fine to say you hope you get chosen, but if Antimage is available at our scheduled time next week, don't consider it a good idea to start asking if you can play against certain people, or on certain weeks. The above post had no bearing on our decision, and the decision was made before the match even began last night.
|
oh wow
it went to my spam folder -.- my mistake.
Now i look like a complete douche, sorry!

No problem dude, I just didn't want the thread to descend into 40 people all asking if they can play X, or "next." I wanted to make it clear that you were chosen before the post was made, and while following the thread and series does make us take note, straight asking will not improve your odds.
Thanks for the understanding all!
|
Oh shit! Antimage vs Lost!
This shit just got real.
|
It appears there's a bug that's occurring with the new tournament tracker, causing dates submitted in EST to show up incorrectly. Please note that xiLost vs. coLAntimage is TOMORROW (Tuesday) at 9pm EST, not today as the calender shows.
I've forwarded the glitch on to the TL team, and hopefully it will be corrected. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Could you please include prizemoney won by each player in the results, your prizemoney distribution is a bit hard to follow.

Good idea. Updated. We also have our challenger for tomorrow night's match - EsturLizzuma will take on ExO!

Great, it's a lot easier to follow now. =)

Sorry for the withdrawal guys but I just started feeling terrible. I have been having bad allergies all day. Now my hands and brain are both moving really slow for some reason, and I don't feel it's worth it trying to showcase another game of how bad I play under these circumstances :/

Thanks for your time and participation in the showcase. Take care.

let me play someone

I think we are going to officially try to move this showcase to a Monday or Tuesday night for earlier in the week then maybe on Saturday as well. With the NASL changing its dates we think monday/tuesday would be a great option. Nothing is official yet though.

There are still 7 players - potentially 35 BO5 series to be played. This series has just begun.

truth that.. Spanishiwa is finally showing people that zerg can do more than sit back with no aggression and build roaches for 30 minutes. The dude deserves all the spotlight hes getting.

xi Slurgi (vs) coL Stalife
Slurgi has a multi-game win over Stalife from an older Pan-Am championship tournament. Stalife was able to take down Slurgi 2-1 in a BO3 from MLG Dallas. These 2 always produce great results!
Best of 5 tonight! Tuesday @ 10:30PM EST.

It's been more than 2 months and apparently my hardware prize keeps getting lost in the mail or they keep sending it to the wrong address.
I honestly don't know what elevengaming aka 4Kings is up to. It's pretty clever how they can get picked up by another team then it seems like they forget their obligations.
I'm really disappointed in this so called first class team and their management, I don't get tracking information or anything, just PM's like:
It's on the way.. I'm sorry about the delay, but it's not like you aren't going to get it.
Do you have the card yet?
I sent it out like a month ago. I'll have to try to track it down via FedEx.. not even sure where the tracking is anymore. If it's lost I can send you another one.
Weird though.. the others got theirs already. Will look into it and get back to you.
I had hoped that as you guys are easy to get along with and are respectable community players, that you would be able to keep your promises. Does it really take 2.5 months to send a piece of hardware?

Are you guys still doing this and taking applications?

Due to eleven gaming disbanding this will be discontinued. As for antimages claims, he says the first was lost, we sent a second - which he knows was done, and after some mediation, will now resend a third to a mutual friend. Victor is the only person who had issues with receiving the card, and might I remind, received his cash award within hours after his win. Publicly making me or either organization look like assholes on a public forum is hardly the way to get a better result, and merely slaps in the face - my personal extra effort in paying the extra cost - twice - out of pocket to send this internationally. My and my former team have sterling reputations for doing "what we say we will" and frankly, implying that we've somehow decided to forsake you after you know full well that I personally have gone the extra mile for you in this matter is a seriously low blow. Regardless, I will make sure another card gets out to the agreed upon third party address, which will be done when I return from my honeymoon - which ive interrupted to respond to this nonsense on an iPhone. A true sign of someone who flouts their commitments, no doubt.
|
I'm not trying to make you guys look like assholes. I said you guys are easy to get along with and are respectable community players.
Excuse me for being doubtful that a package can get lost twice in the mail when I have car mods, electronics and sponsor items arriving every week with no problem, from the states. So yes, I do have a reason for doubting.
When I get short messages that don't seem like any effort has been put into it, it leads me to believe that you guys don't care at all. When you guys don't follow up even the second time or don't put tracking onto your package, how am I supposed to know that you guys did indeed send it the second time.
I'm only doubtful (and rightfully so, I believe) because of the lack of correspondence and short responses.
Sending "hate"-PM's to me on TL does nothing won't change my mind, it shows just how much class you have. You could have also just not bothered asking me to delete my post (which a few of u asked for me) and maybe responded it in a respectful manner. If it's a misunderstanding then it's a misunderstanding.
|
Well you can either believe that two packages were "lost" in the mail, or you can believe that I am a liar, and for reasons unexplained, have decided to not send you what's owed - despite you being the first winner, and every other person who won one receiving theirs in short order. I hope that as publicly as you've taken this matter, when these stray packages do show up - and I'm confident they will - you review the post dates, and issue an equally public apology, before returning them to me or directly to Bigfoot networks. I'll have nothing more to say on this.
