Everyone bitched at them for not making it the premier event immediately. When they responded that they did not want to add everything at once to make sure it runs smoothly, they were again met with the venomous attitude of TL elitists. You guys are ridiculous, were you there when sc:bw first began in S korea? you are comparing their events in quality when one has had YEARS to perfect their system. MLG, whether you like it or not, was the first major tournament to feature SC in the U.S., there are going to be kinks, especially since there is no lan functionality. Naniwa is still setting up, this isn't gsl with one game being played at a time. They have to pick matches to observe. this isn't gsl, how do people not see the huge differences between them? Or the differences between MLG and online tourneys? It is three days with a massive player pool, together with dozens of consoles and separate streams being played at the same time. I sort of agree with what you wrote. People need to give MLG a bit more slack with certain things. Of course the weekends tournament has been quite aweful indeed but it's not the end of the world even though you might get that impression reading this thread. HOWEVER There are just some things fundamentally wrong with the way MLG's tournaments are held. - Only a small percentile of the games are ever shown - The VODs are never uploaded in reasonable time, and most of them are never uploaded at all. - It's impossible to keep track of the tournament progress. Double elimination being a bit harder to follow than single elimination isn't too bad, but at least post official brackets where people can find them and update the scores regularly... If it wasn't for TL.net it would be impossible for me to keep track of anything. All of this isn't start up issues. It's just MLG focussing on the totally wrong things :s

Not allowing LAN has a lot to do with Blizzard forcing you to log onto B.net so they can authenticate the game so that it is not as easily pirated. $$$$
