I hope Nani wins this whole tournament. It would be awesomely epic if he did it with 0 losses too. Could you guys imagine that? :D

The extended series thing is extraordinarily silly. Incontrol already has a huge advantage from beating TLO, namely, being in the winner's bracket!

Idra's "I'll just forfeit"... man I really can't figure this kid out anymore... one minute he's badmouthing Huk the next he's stomped by TLO and just quits immediately without even really putting up a fight... X_X

it's pretty simple. Idra has always say that HuK is a talentless player and he has shown zero respect for him since the beginning. On the other hand, he believes TLO has some real talent even if he likes his cheese more than a frenchman. It's just a question of respect.

I pray for a victory from TLO. I don't really like his style, but InControl is so consistently bad on his stream and other tournaments it would be a shame to see him figure high in the MLG Dallas.

I understand if the commentators need a break but just put it on TLO's camera or something and let the thing run.

I think idra will continue to pull this kinda shit because he thinks the game needs to be changed, its pretty clear that TLO isn't on the same level as idra yet he can still defeat him using strategies that take advantage of zerg and their early game.

Yes. He's completely undefeated besides losing a game to Machine.

he didnt lose a game to machine. it was an error with MLG reporting. he is 100% undefeated thus far.

He did not lose to machine. Mistake by MLG, on EG's twitter they said machine got lost 0-2 to nani.

Can't really consider it a rivalry when one player wins the matches 90% of the time.

Pardon my ignorance, I'm looking at the graphic explaining for format and can't figure this out. This is the first series Huk lost, right? But because he's in the loser's bracket, is he eliminated without losing a second series (no double-elimination)?

The "loser's bracket" is actually pretty much for people that didn't get first in their groups. HuK dropped his series to KiWiKaKi, so KiWi went on immediately to the semi-finals and HuK went into the "loser's bracket" like everyone else (except Incontrol, Naniwa, and SeleCT, who were also top in their groups)

Oic, so the open bracket play is double-elimination, but the championship bracket is double-elim only for the four pool winners? It makes some kind of sense but seems counter intuitive and a penalty for the folks who fought their way in from the open brackets.

While 3 of the 4 pool first placers did go 4-0, iNcontroL did lose a series to Pain-User, but because he came out on top he gets the DE "protection" while hypothetically another person could get into the pool from the open bracket, beat 3 out of the 4 seeds, end up with the same 3-1 record as iNc but not take first place, and end up not having the same DE benefit.

The purpose of the double elimination is, because SC2 is a fairly volatile game no one can be eliminated from the tournament after losing one series. That is pretty much all it's there for.

The first in each group does have a slightly better guarenteed spot relative to the other in the group but that is really the only way to have the bracket play out.

Place in group - Guarenteed spot
#1 = top6
#2 = top12.
#3 = top16.
#4 = top20.
#5 = top24.

I think it's fair to reward the top players in the groups like this. It's a way bigger issue that everyone in the top16 is guarenteed a spot in the top24. Even if someone is in a huge slump it's gonna take a few tournaments before they actually drop outside the top16.

Unless there is someone like Naniwa who just bullies his way through from the open bracket and goes undeafeted in well over 20 games :s
But I doubt that'll happen every tournament

i find it hard to believe that DAY[9] and DJWheat would leave at the biggest moment in the tourney for some food.... hell no... they love this game more than all of us.... this has to be someone at MLG's decision.
