Some guy says SeleCT is the best non-Korean. Some people corrected him which caused others to have a hissy fit out of nothing.

Ok not going to put up with this. Are they going to release a replay pack again?

Just like SeleCT is a korean living in america
Is White Ra a korean now? He has been there for a week or so, give it up guys. Its based on citizenship. I am born in Bulgaria but have lived in Canada from age of 6. Are you trying to tell me that I'm not Canadian?
If he has citizenship, then he is Korean American, I agree.
But he comes from a Korean RTS background. He played WC 3 and DOW in Korea and represented Korea in the WCGs.
If he grew up in the US and came out of the US RTS scene, then there'd be no doubt that he's a child of the this scene. As it is he's kind of a hybrid.

Yesterday IdrA admitted in an interview that he could hear the commentators talking during his game vs Socke. He heard that Socke was making a voidray. IdrA would have been prepared for it regardless, however, I find it really disappointing that there is no sound proofing at MLG and other similar events.
Yesterday HuK said he wouldn't go mothership because the crowd would just give it away.
Today incontrol made it clear that he could hear Day9 and DJ wheat talking about him prior to his match. Incontrol also uses earbud style headphones that have almost no outside sound blocking so it's safe to say that he could hear at least a portion of what was going on.
It's pretty unfortunate that this happens. I've played in hundreds of LAN tournaments over the 10+ years over many games and I personally would be pissed if I could hear the commentators. Not only would it give my opponent a possible advantage, but I feel it would throw me off my game as I'd be less likely to use units that are easily hard countered i.e. cloak banshee, dt, warp prism, quick raven.. etc.
I could build a sound proof greenhouse 4 times the size of the booths used in the GSL for under $1,000 so I'm wondering if MLG is going to wise up and realize that RTS can't function when players know what eachother are doing. It undermines the game itself making people unwilling to use risky strategy and while it would be annoying in FPS , the players typically have their sound turned up so they can hear footsteps and item pickups which is the opposite of RTS. I play with my sound on 7% and rely more heavily off visual queues.
***it's not the player's fault for taking advantage of the commentator, but I'd like to hear from other people who played at MLG and hear what they have to say about it. I'd like to know if incontrol dropped his 2nd gate in game 1 when he did because of what he heard from day9. For the last fucking time they stop playing the announcers in the crowd once the game starts read the fucking thread So the live crowd gets no commentary? That sucks. I'd rather be there live than have the commentary. The atmosphere there must be ridiculous.

If only I was left handed. It actually makes total sense. You can use your thumb so much easier since it will be on ctrl and shift. Makes stretches so much easier. Too bad my mouse control would be shit if I tried lool.

Whats up with Haypro? Did he beat Gretorp?

Advantage for higher seeds is fine but this is a bit ridiculous While I understand where you're coming from, what would you have done? Make it 7 for the seeds and 12 for the open brackets? Then you have a LOT less players that can play in the 'qualifiers'. The system is pretty ridiculous though. The fact that HuK will have had to beat Sheth, Ret, IdrA (twice), +Drewbie/Tyler/TLO/Vibe just to be on par with Incontrol who beat TLO, Slush and Mihai.. There are 10 other players with equally difficult routes as HuK, and I'm missing out on quite a few of the players HuK beat yesterday too (Cocoa, Spades?). Not sure what they can do to fix it given they moved to this system so they could have better schedules for coverage. what has the difficulty of the route to do with the tourney system?
The tourney system made incontrol, obviously an inferior player, able to play only 5(?) matches, and do mediocre in them, and be able to go as far in the tournament as HuK, who had to beat very good players multiple times.

It's actually not that bad for a left-handed. 4s, 5ad, 6s, 7dv is easy to execute as terran. :D 1 stim, 2 stim, 3 siege is not that good tho.

I din't think it's that much a problem. It's a lot more fair for the good players, especially the ones that play the MLG more regulairly. Players entering through the open bracket might need to play a lot more matches to reach the finals, but even if they don't make it a good performance will get them a high seed for the next event.
