Why Zerax played so "badly"? Well he played a lot like the Protosses getting 2 bases fast, and starting building strong army for the late game. Zerax wasn't even as passive as many other Protosses (I don't know if this is good or not). Instead of playing passive too, Mondragon hit Zerax when he vulnerable with brilliant unit choice. Almost pure roach, sure they are pretty bad vs void rays but they are faster off creep and vs colossus. The timing of Mondragon was great, instead of simply expanding to the whole map and wait to 200/200 he took fast 3 bases defending with only spores, queens and few hydras. Also fast 2-1 uprages was all preparing the massive roach avalanche from 3 bases before the Protoss player can mass too many colossus / voidrays. I can't wait to see more Mondragon games! | ||
