According to the results posted here, and assuming that I calculated correctly, the next GSTL should look something like this.
Edited to remove points for previous finishes. John has hinted that coming in 1st/2nd does not apply to the qualification process.
1. oGs - 13.8 points 2. TSL - 10 3. Prime - 8-9 depending on the new Code A player's status 4. SlayerS - 7.6 5. MVP - 7.6 6. StarTale - 6.8 7. ZeNEX - 6.2 8. fOu 5.6 ---
9. IM - 4.2 10. NSHoseo - 3.6
That means no IM this season in team league unless they have points added for coming in 2nd.

apparently theres no points for coming first/second (i think John posted that here and since hes with Gom he prob knows what hes talking about)

9. fOu - 5.6 10. NSHoseo - 3.6
John just hinted that winners/runnerups don't get extra points.

Really looking forward to see the grid of Code A. Imagine something insane like Bomber vs MVP in round 1 lol. I think there are several players in Code A who could actually beat MVP (Ryung, Bomber, one of the new Ps we know nothing about...)

Now that it's done and I'm done collating the stuff we've got, here's some thoughts on the qualification.
1. As I mentioned earlier, really good that Gom decided to get rid of the foreigner seeds. I think SC2 in Korea is at a stage where the competition is so intense, and by getting rid of it, it makes the qualifiers the best place to get the best players. Unfortunate that the foreigners were all knocked out, but hopefully better players went through.
2. MVP (the team)'s rise is something of note. Note that some of the players are actually players who struggled to prove themselves before (Loverip + a bunch of guys who have bad records on TLPD due to their performance in the ZOTAC Team Invitational). I used the term fOu-ing in one of my earlier posts. A lot of this players are unknowns and could prove to be quite interesting (similar to fOu last time round). With these results also it seems that they've won a spot in the next GSTL.
3. Luck of the draw played a role again. We had Ryung>Seed>DongRaeGu in one instance. All 3 arguably are Code A calibre, but yet only 1 could make it through. Again this just shows how competitive the qualifiers actually are.
4. It seems with the rise in competition, it could be an indication that perhaps less foreigners will be inclined to head over to Korea. Which will probably decrease foreign viewership. I honestly hope that they still keep up their presence in the foreign scene, even though there are less and less foreigners around. And I hope people like Torch, Doa, John and Artosis will all continue to keep up coverage there and help us overcome the language and distance barriers. Honestly, after watching GSL, every other competition seems to pale in comparison, but that's just my opinion.
5. Bomber finally makes it. I think it's time he finally proves himself. Hoping for the best from him. Ryung and Min are also people I'm looking forward to. Kinda sad that Seed, Yonghwa, Puma, Moon, DongRaeGu all got knocked out, though. But hoping we get to see more of them eventually.

I'm sure I read somewhere that IM got 4 pts for winning the last Team league and ST got 2, but obviously John would know best!

Were there any foreign seeds like last season?
|
|
WOW.
Puma (which Artosis spoke so well about in GSTL), Maka and GuineaPig was the biggest upsets for me.
Damn, I was really hoping for Puma.
Cool to see the rising of a new team, MVP.

Maka lost to Bomber, and he might have qualified if he hadn't run into him. Bad luck.

Really bad luck, because he also lost to Bomber in the finals of another tournament earlier today

I wish Maka would have made it through too. Liked that guy since I first saw him play.
But three SlayerS players! Very impressive as a team!

I think GSL saw yesterday the results of the TSL3 and decided not to seed foreigners. ^^

Bomber!!!!!!!!! Yay =D =D =D
Long overdue qualification, very happy to see that! Poor Maka though, getting bumped off by him twice in one weekend, he even seemed in pretty good form too
Very sad to see Haypro go out though, just reading through the updates and it sounds like it was a really close series Next season Hayder, you can definitely do it!
Seems like MVP really stepped up which is interesting, wonder which of their players is the strongest.
It's good to see the Non-Code A guys from SlayerS who really impressed in the GSTL making it through this time.
I also like that there is a number of players managing to qualify through again and not just fading away. That and the fact that it's getting easier and easier to recognise a good chunk of the names, always nice to be able to quantify the level of players people are beating to make it.
Finally...I can't have been the only person that had a bit of a laugh realising that after switching from Toss to Terran, GuineaPig got eliminated by Tassadar xD

No foreign invites this time? bummer.

Code A Terran - 13, Protoss - 12, Zerg - 7
Would be great if there were a bit more zerg in both Code S and Code A. >_<
