I love how many people's immediate reaction is to shit all over Adelscott's accomplishment. Why are you so offended that MVP lost?

Because it was an unfair game because of all the lag.
If it was on an equal playing field and Adel won then people wouldn't be saying that

That was just amazing. I thought Adel was a goner in game 2. I will never whine about gateway units sucking again. Absolutely incredible. Adel played well, regardless of the lag issues. I remember day9 mentioning him before in the dailies. Now I understand why.

MVP may not have been able to micro as well as he normally could, but his decision making was terrible. IIRC, he did great taking out adel's nexus at his 4th, but then he kept trying to engage at his main/nat. WTF!? They were even supply once that nexus went down with mvp even a little ahead, but then instead of continuing economic harrass he throws his army away trying to destroy meaningless buildings at the main/nat. Especially while adel was no longer making colossus.

What, you don't like 20 pages of the same comments about lag back and forth?

Even if you say his micro was bad because of lag, his decision making was shit. He engaged at poor positions, didn't get upgrades, etc. He played poorly, lag or not.

Hi Korea. Welcome to the TSL I hope you enjoy the games

GG Adel that was some good play. And lag whiners are almost as bad as balance freaks.

Cheer Adelscott! What else??
We saw two amazing games where Adelscott managed to beat the beast that is MVP.

Congrats to Adelscott!!

Without mass collossus balls the TvP match up is certainly more enjoyable to watch.

BTW, could someone tell me how long ago these games were played? Is it like 1 day old or are all matches in this round already played?

I'd like to know this as well

They said that match was played in 1.3 so they had to have been played after Tuesday at some point... but I don't know when exactly.
Apologize.

You know that Adelscott is in EU and that they have a really similar lag, right?

You can't blame that game on lag... Did you actually watch the games/listened to the casters?

Lag from eu to us is way smaller...its something like 170 ping versus Mvp probably sitting at like 300. That + Terran requires way more micro that Toss so it was favored to Adel on that as well.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

AT IEM QXC said he had pisspoor training in Spain and that it was showing in his play. This might effect the next game, but then he has a korean as an opponent so lag might be an issuie here to.
I am not young enough to know everything.

I can't see how people are not seeing the obvious lag with the lower than par kiting by MVP. If you guys even noticed, his kiting was delayed in the middle between moving and attacking which give the Protoss time to move back because the attack was delayed. And that made MVP unable to chase the Protoss army because of the distance.

By the way, it's 4AM in Korea. 3AM + when the series started. I'm pretty sure EU time is wayyyy closer to NA time.

Adelscott played well but MVP played very badly due to delay.

It's a replay cast so the time it is atm doesnt mean shit :D

First there is no doubt that Adelscott played amazing, I dont want to take anything away from his win, because i think he deserved it.
Second, although that is what the casters may have said, it is not true, there is a little lag for both of them, but Korea on NA is a lot worse than EU on NA. So MVP did have a little worse lag that game than Adel, the first game Maraudar micro shows that

Guys how is it with lags and servers? I thought I read the games alternate between NA + KOR server, if the contestants are from NA / EU vs. KOR. Is that right, or did I just imagine reading that somewhere? (pm response would be much appreciated, I don't know how fast this thread moves right now)

Thank you!

really, even if it did we heard that one, both players have equal lag, get over it

People are saying lag isn't an issue. Pfft. Check Boxer's interview when he says lag is huge.

And MVP lost a marine AND a reaper to probe surrounds. That never happens to him. Those were huge losses early so he wasn't able to harrass a 15 Nexus.

I don't think I've heard anyone with sufficient ethos corroborate that US-SK lag is worse than US-EU lag.

Sounds like a Rush Limbaugh-style talking point.

lame exuse

EU owns !! :D

How is that a lame excuse? it's true

1. What is MVPs ping?
2. What is Adelscott's ping?

Don't know? Say so, and stop making stuff up.

Clearly, lag is the reason MVP got out-expanded, out-upgraded, and out-produced.

Even if lag messed with MVP, it still shows that the gap between foreigners and Koreans is not big at all now. In BW, I bet Koreans could shit on foreigners with that lag. That is not the case in SCII, and that just says something in itself
