Cella must be so happy. This must be an important time in his life. Pressured from his dad to not pursue gaming, he led the SlayerS team to victory (or at least was given that symbolicappearance from Boxer) and now has the honor of representing Korea :D

I hope his dad is proud and more accepting ^_^

My favorite part is the usage of Sensor Towers and Reapers in this GSTL. So happy to see players start to use every option available to them. Much better play than what we see anywhere else, even the GSL.

What a turnaround. Cella and Boxer did an amazing job picking players based on their looks and then training them into champions. SlayerS will be the one to attract a bunch of female fans to SC2.

Disagree with your statements: SlayerSAlicia absolutely deserves the hype Artosis gives him, and showcased why in his matches.

Game 1: Very well executed build, Yoda just played badly. Can't fault Alicia for crushing lesser competition, but I agree it wasn't a showcase of amazing skill. Still, would you criticze MC or MVP for doing the same?

Game 2: Do you realize that Alicia reacted perfectly to minimal scouting information? He saw SIX lings and went into overdrive on cannons and sentries to stop the bling bust; had he seen 4, he probably would have gone on with his build as usual. Such subtle understanding of how much your opponent should have when is amazing star-sense.

JulyZerg, hyped as one of the best Zergs in the world, getting obliterated by MC in G1 of GSL March Finals was the opposite: despite seeing MC had only 3 sentries and no forge while taking his expansion, he didn't put down spines or start massing units. Alicia's gamesense (and cannon placement) were fantastic against a build that many Zergs find success with against Toss FE opponents.

Game 3: His decision to not fast-expand on Terminus was sharp, and his interpretation of NesTea's build (no pool and very late hatch) led him to 4-gate. That was a very strategic 4-gate; I'm annoyed by how Zergs like JulyZerg and Morrow get complimented for succesfully baneling busting players going for macro openings (ooh! he's decisive!) while Protoss players get trashed for going 4 gate. Listen, 3 hatch at 5 minutes is an econ-cheese. Sniffing it out and smashing it with 4 gate. is decisive and optimal play.

Also, did you see his FFs during that engagement? Creating favorable concaves for his stalkers and half-donuting his red-health units with FFs against lings... just excellent. Really out-micro'd NesTea.

...you seriously didn't see top-level skill on display by Alicia? SMH.

Super awesome amazing games!!!!

Man i thought the last final was awesome. This one was probably a notch above. The first one as a story wasn't quite as epic. The matches were awesome, especially near the end. But it was more of a snipe battle with each guy winning just 1 game. Whereas this one had the first half being Alicia, second half being MVP, which was a more epic story over the entire series.
