[NASL] Players (final) - Page 68
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

haha. Great call, now everyone can have personal opinions on who is the best without actually having to back it up more than "well, I think my brother is the best. He should be in." Forget results in big tournaments, who do you think is best?!

I think we all just need to make them do their invitiational tourney, do the "connecting on a personal level with the players" and just give them a chance. The purpose with the whole league will be much clearer after 1-2 seasons. If the skill difference is too big with the best players and the ones "we are connected on a personal level" I think NASL will slightly change their format on who participates. Until then, we should take this tourney for what it is. A great, badass invitiational with huge prize money.

''Hey, my name is Paolo, I am from Peru. Beautiful country.'' ''I can say without hessitation... That I am the CatZ of Zerg. I am absolutely sure, without a doubt, that I am the CatZ of Zerg. If that is not enough, I should be in the NASL because I am a great player. Oh, and I have slept in the same bed as Day9. ''I take strategy way too serious. I wouldn't even mention my biggest rival on my interview.'' ''He was like... My rival is like IMMvP or something. Oh, sorry if I spoiled that. But yeah, then I beat him at the king of the hill.'' Yeah but wasn't the interview section just a small part of who actually get's accepted?

How can other people develop a fanbase if the same group of friends keep inviting the same people to the tournaments? If they continue to degrade the scene by squelching up and coming talent replacing it with players of yesterday even though there are obvious better players than Artosis in the world, then they will be eliminating the driving force to starcraft 2's popularity. The ability for anyone to become a good player given the right dedication. All this shows is that its better to have kimchi with incontrol if you've applied for the NASL, because if you have then you're good to go.

![]() I guess there is a thing as TOO much marketing / PR if it becomes over saturated. Not trying to be too negative and I will still be watching most of the league, but my anticipation has kind of turned into a wow lets just get the players announced and move on.

How can other people develop a fanbase if the same group of friends keep inviting the same people to the tournaments? How can you take one invite and apply that to "the same group of friends and the same people." There are people from all over the world and from tons of different teams. -.- If you were to start a league, you would have recognizable names in it to build its popularity, you're not going to eliminate the "driving force of SC2's popularity" by having one of the most recognizable player (Artosis, due to his GSL casting) in it. I would argue that by including only raw, unknown talent, you would actually hurt the league, not help it, because interest would be much lower. Do you think 2 good but unknown players are going to draw 50K+ live viewers? NO.

I know people on any forum like to take things extremely literally, but my point was that, basically, there are so many people getting invited that the lines for "best" start to fade and meld. The very top has some clear skill divisions, but those quickly get closer in an environment where it's never truly certain who is most likely to win. And I guarantee you that most people aren't thinking of over 50 players when they think about who they want in the NASL. We're on TL, which makes it more likely for us, but, even here, I'd say that most people probably have a favorite team or two and are well aware of most of the endeavors of around 25 players while having more basic knowledge for others. The idea is that, especially with the scene so young, most people can't give a definitive list of 50 players.
