We figure with 8 maps there's bound to be some people who don't like at least one of them. We're planning to stick with this map pool but if we find more maps used over others, we'll probably switch it up at our next tournament.
Thanks for the Testbug suggestion. We'll see if we can incorporate that one next time.

Lots of michigan tourneys going on in april!
I'll put you on the pending list but we're only reserving spots for players that have registered and paid the $10 deposit at http://tournament.sc2gr.com/.
I'll move ya over to the confirmed list once you go through the full registration process. Looking forward to seeing ya there!
I'm also updating the challonge.com bracket; but that looks cluttered because of the placeholders: http://challonge.com/sc2grApril16
As a side note, I get an email whenever someone registers. If their payment doesn't go through, I'll know and will personally contact them using the email address they provided. If you think you've signed up but don't see your name on the list within 24 hours, please PM me.
Def need to get some more people in this, unfortunately the 10$ deposit prolly will not make alotta people happy but to force people to come is better then having a bunch of no shows on game day.

Yeah, we're still working on getting the word out.
The way we saw the deposit was, we could have 32 people telling us right now that they're coming so we close registration, but on actual game day, if any of them decide the trip is too long or too early, they don't lose anything by not showing up. You serious players, however, are the ones that would miss out. Plus, we would have had to turn away other serious players because the brackets would be full. We see the deposit as an easy way gauge whether or not someone is serious about attending.
But that also means you, as a player, can also know a head of time that all registered participants are serious about attending this event too.
If there's anything else about this tourney that you think might make anyone hesitant to enter, please feel free to PM me or post here with any questions, comments, or suggestions. We're dedicated to making this an awesome event for everyone that gets involved.
would it be possible for me to drive down and pay/register for the tourney instead of doing it online? because i dont know if this goes against my trip to omaha in april.

I sent you a PM with contact info so you can drive down and register at Skynet Gaming. The owner of Skynet Gaming said he'll personally make sure you get registered for the event if you give him a call or txt him. Let me know if you have any problems getting a hold of him.

Thanks for registering! I've added you to our confirmed list!
On another note. It looks like the website hosting our registration page inadvertently disabled our event over the weekend displaying an "Access Denied" message to users. The event had been re-enabled this morning and you should now be able to register.
If you tried to register over the weekend, please try again now. Sorry about this inconvenience. We were able to fix this issue within 15 minutes of becoming aware of it.
This event is only 2 week and a half weeks away. Be sure to register soon to reserve your spot.
Also, if you're interested in coming but don't want to commit to paying the deposit just yet, let me know and I'll put you on the pending list. This would help me gauge the interest level and let others know you're planning to sign up later.
well if i was maybe even in silver i might try it you never know how far you can get and plus with the raffle up for grabs aw man that would be nice to get that monitor
Anyone else interested in participating? As people get knocked out of the tournament, we'll setup casual games so people can continue playing throughout the day even if they're not in the tournament. Also, you'll have free access to video game consoles if you get tired of playing PC games.
This is going to be a great chance for you to meet other local Michigan StarCraft 2 players.
Our Blizzard Tournament License requires us to set a fixed prize pool that does not vary based on participation. Since we are still at less than 20 participants, we have established the fixed prize pool at $220 (1st - $150, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $20).
If we get a lot of last minute entries, additional fees will go into bigger and better raffle prizes.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this.
Also, I'm pleased to announce that iCCup TV will be casting this event on their stream at http://www.ustream.tv/iccuptv/. So, if you can't make it out, you will still be able to watch the event live!
Great tournament, I really think that this tournament should be an example to everyone that bo3 double elimination tournaments DO NOT have to last all day long. I think we got this done rather quickly because there were a lot of ZvZs and PvPs.
But everyone was given basically free reign on when to play and the refs did a great job at getting people to get casted for matchs. After every match we reported our win, and we were off to another game. If you were late by 10 minutes a timer started for 10 minutes and each time that timer was done you would lose one of your games. I don't think anyone was late all day though? Also I liked how they allowed lunch, but they gave you a set time that you had to be back to play it was great.

We posted the replays we received on the bracket. There's a little green paper clip on the match ups that have replays posted. Unfortunately we didn't seem to get all the replays from all the games. We'll try and push that more at our next tournament.

With how shitty Michigan can be (economy/politics/bankruptcy) it's great because I swear there is a new LAN someplace every couple of weeks. I just wish I could attend more of them and play, even though I'm only in Diamond it's always fun to go and talk with other sc2 nerds like myself. ^_^
