Hi everyone, SC2CL Season 2 is about to start. The successor of BWCL finished season 1 just recently. After a quite successful first season with over 200 clans participating in a lot of different divisions, we crowned our first champion ESC.IcyBox. The team of the panzer general GoOdy managed to come out on top in a very close season. Now it's about time for the second season and several things have changed.
First of all, we have a new Masters division where the best clans from last season, several invited clans and clans that took part in a qualifier tournament compete for 1200€ prize money
So, who's going to play in this division?
1. ESC.IcyBox (Last seasons champion, Players: e.g. GoOdy, Delphi, iVoRy ) 2. Online Kingdom (2nd last season, Players: e.g. Arew, xiaOt, L) 3. RoX.KiS (3rd last season, Players: e.g. BRAT_OK, Abver, Pomi) 4. eSuba (4th from last season, Players: e.g. PredY, Devil, Headhunter)
Teams that played in a 64 teams qualifier: 5. Praetoriani (Players: e.g. ThorZaIN, NightEnD, FallY, Rikytan) 6. Stofftiere Online (Players: e.g. JuNe, Druzdil, KroLu, Akki) 7. Alien Invasion(Players: e.g. DeathAngel, Seiplo, Sieesch, Honor) 8. 3D (Players: e.g. Fatalimer, Primarius, pulse)
The invited Teams: 9. Meet Your Makers (Players: ClouD, Mondragon, SaSe, XlorD) 10. Dignitas (Players: e.g. SjoW, SeleCT, NaNiwa, meRz, Bischu) 11. Cybernation (e.g. SarenS, MoMaN) 12. Empire (e.g. Kas, Happy, Beastyqt, Nerchio)
I think we have found a good mix of well known top teams and some teams with very strong players that aren't known to a broad audience yet, so we'll see some intense matches.
Participating in SC2CL Everybody can participate in the SC2CL. In our first season, over 200 Teams played in several divisions. There are only minor restrictions: - each team needs to have at least 4 Players - every player must be able to play on EU
If you want to participate, go to sc2cl.com, create your clan there and join the waiting list to get seeded into a division for season 2! Maybe you'll play in the Masters Division yourself one day.

i'm really curious on who the last 2 teams are
|
Wondering what people think about a 2on2 in regular clan wars. Back in the Wc3cl I really enjoyed those. + Show Spoiler +4k Fury and Zeus[19] were so awesome! I think this format enhances the "teamaspect" in a clan war even further. But I dont know how competative / balanced 2on2s in SC2 are compared to WC3. Are there any other tournaments/leagues running it? Cant wait =)

Surprised that Empire went down - totally thought they would dominate this league; Kas, Happy and Nerchio .. Massive!

+ Show Spoiler +
You can find all replays here as soon as they are uploaded: http://starcraft2.ingame.de/sc2cl/?m=replays&cat=1451
Note: There's still a problem with our replay script if the players are using the russian client. The replays are there but the player's names won't show yet. You have to click on the "vs." to get the RoXKiS vs Empire replays.
|
Too bad I missed this. Downloading the replays now. Looks like a great league
|
In the OP it says xiaOt plays for Online Kingdom but the match results show that 3 out of 4 players were german...Does anyone know more than me?
|
xiaOt is listed on the ok page as far is i know
but he's not listed on the sc2cl page
|
xiaOt is listed as a SC2 Player on the OK page, but it seems like Asia -> EU is not playable due to lag issues.

i'm very dissapointed in SFTO gaming because they tried to take a freewin against my team (eSuba) at all costs, in which they succeded. Very bad sportsmanship, not wanting the games to play out.

just sad, seeing something like this done to one of the most mannered teams out there. (assuming eSuba=CDS)

What happened? well there was a big lan in Czech republic and our leader was there as the main admin. the event finished on sunday and couldn't get home in time, so we couldn't set the lineup. I couldn't attend the lan because i was sick so i was browsing the web and saw we got the CW and that we have to set the lineup until certain time, so i gave Jump a call to tell me his ID etc on the site so i can set the lineup, i did so but unfortunately it was too late (according to rules).
our opponent didn't want to play the matches because i was able to see their players already when setting the lineup so they thought i was "cheating" (tbh honest i had no idea i just set the players who were able to play asap). I acknowledged my mistake after it was pointed out to me what happened and offered my opponent to pick the matchups they wished (so they would pick who vs who plays, basically giving them huge advantage). They didn't agree to that and they wanted to play vs the "old" lineup (which was weird because it was automated and there was our non-gaming leader twice) so obviously i said it's a wrong line up etc.
After hour of waiting the admin said to play out the new matches (i was like wtf actually ) and the opposition didn't want to obviously, and i agreed they are right but i asked again if they wanted to play the matches they would pick, but didn't agreed and then left.
I can't really blame them i think, i just wanted to play the games out with players we had ready (we had 4 players ready) and i gave them opportunity to pick the matchups. Unfortunately they decided to do whatever they could to take the freewin. As i said i can't really blame them, but we would never take a freewin.

Updated the OP with the Day 2 Clanwars, MYM vs Empire should be very interesting
|
Well the rules do state that in case of huge events (Dreamhack, LANs) the lineup can be set a bit later.
And LANCraft is no small LAN, it s actually quite famous.
It s not fair play from SFTO...

Quite a shame that no one has been updating TL. I have been following this league and it was pretty interesting. Was a bit rough towards the end with MLG/DreamHack/HomeStory delaying so many games but now that its all in the past the final standings are pretty interesting. Especially to non Euros that wonder which teams are best.
Empire beat SFTO (formerly TMCI) for first place by just 1 point. It's a shame this fight for 1st was done mostly behind the scenes with no announcements and streams. They both really jumped ahead of the rest with 42 - 43 matches won, ESC not so far behind with 37. The rest of the pack were pretty close to each other with just 3 points dividing places 4 thru 9.
For more information there's the official site linked in the OP and SC2CL/Season 2
