Definitely interested in this! I missed the first one unfortunately, but would be able to make the trip from Bham on this date. Is there an event entry sign-up for unseeded players? Thanks in advance,
Infinite 976

Awesome, missed the first one due to exams. I'll try to make it down this time, VAStukov.234
No official sign up until you get to the venue.
Helps to post in the GameClucks Forum thread though so I have some sort of body count.
We will also have NOS on site again handing out energy drinks.
Cant wait, Ill definetly be there this time.
sick, last event was awesome
last event was fun~ the 10 computer spot for people to bring comp is good idea. This time it would better if the maps are set every round. The blizzard map pool now with the new maps and getting rid of the bad maps shouldnt be a prob in which map pool we should pick from.
Ballin' o/ here we go again also jujuzerg you were there last time? oo
yea man o_o u can see me in the bracket
Any good players come to this? and how many players (prizes of %) curious if its worth the effort

last time it was $500 prize pool with like 40+ players so more players the more money in prize pool.
Last time the winner got $290.. and second place was $140. It also happened that these two beefy prizes went to RaNGeD and KawaiiRice respectively. Which we met in person and it was awesome.
Map Pool and Set Maps - Do you want full set of maps set by bracket round, or just a "starter" map, or use the same 1 map for all 2 or 3 games in the round?
What my "plan" is - Lets say you have Maps A B C D E. Round #1 would be Map A as a starter (Map #1). Loser then picks map #2 from the balance available of B C D E. Loser of game 2 (if it goes to 3rd game) would then pick Map #3 from C D E.
Each Bracket round would have a Map set to it as a Starter,
PRIZES - $10 of each $15 entry goes to Prize Pool. More People = More Prize Money
48 people at the last one...
I should prob cap this at 64 but we will see what happens this time and make decisions based on March turn out and how it runs.
Also at this event, I will draw out how the "league" idea we have used for Smash Bros and SSF4 works and see if you all are interested in something like that also.
I'll be there again, but this time I won't leave early while still being in the tourny, yay!
I live in NJ but I watched the stream anyways. Cool stuff. That edward guy is a cutie ^___^
Looking forward to it. See you all there!
aww yea, got no chance but to score some free nos drinks ill be there
but will Nos girl be there?
Using the MLG map pool would be pretty baller
Sounds sweet. Getting in on this~
NOS Girl is suppose to be here for it.

Wuddup dudes! Last time was definitely a lot of fun and it's highly possible that I'll be attending this tournament again =) And I love how they listened to my hoping suggestion of this event being on a Saturday wahaha!

Last month's event was super fun :D I'm glad this is happening again. I wondering about reserving spots to bring our own PC. Or will it be first come first serve?
Why make this the same day as the tourney in richmond ? AGH!
gamesclucks is the best place to lan!
No clue there was a Richmond BC event, sorry on that. Will try and look more next time. With the schedule we have at GameClucks though, avoiding other events will be hard, as I really only have the 3rdish weekend of the month open for SC2.
i'd love for there to be a set map list asap. MLG maps sound awesome for competitive tournament play imo. what do you guys think??
list of mlg maps here
I 100% agree with JDizz and all you Zerg players should as well. No close spawns on Metal and Temple as well as building blockers on some.

MLG maps just eliminate alot of abusive strategies. it's not about being a zerg player it's just about making the game alittle more balanced

i come for revenge vs kawaii

I know, but im saying Zerg players should jump on board right away. Zerg will get the most from those changes.

Who got the third place??
So someone give me a Map List, lets more or less agree on it and then we will go from there.
Honestly, not playing this game really at all, I am not going to pretend I know what maps what to use. So as a community give me a list and lets do it.
BYOComp list is started.
Reserving first 10 spots only. We likely have 12-15 spots, but will only reserve the first 10.
So first 10 posts in this thread starting here that say they want a spot get one held.
i vote MLG as well obviously lol. only reason why any protoss or terran player won't vote MLG maps is cause they want to abuse some of the things MLG maps eliminate.
* Scrap Station * Metalopolis * ICCup Testbug * Xel'Naga Caverns * The Shattered Temple * Shakuras Plateau * Crossfire SE (GSL)
on the MLG version of the maps, which can be found by typing MLG (map name) in the custom create box.

MLG Metalopolis* MLG Scrap Station MLG Shakuras Plateau* MLG Shattered Temple* MLG Xel'Naga Caverns* MLG ICCup Testbug* MLG GSL Crossfire SE
And I'm bringing my computer to stream from. I'm just confirming just in case.
So no NOS Girls at this one
They have another appointment that day.
So NOS is giving me a case or two to hand out to random game winners and then also some to sell for 50% off. So NOS will be only $1.00 all day long at GameClucks.

The last one was pretty fun the casting is what makes it something to enjoy though, otherwise u might just find yourself taking a nap. BTW anyone else remember the epic fail that was mass sentry zelot ball against kawaii rice giant MMM ball? lol that kid was doing BM to everyone at the tourney so seeing him get rolled like that on the live stream and then getting BMed by kawaii rice the whole match pretty much made kawaii like my automatic fav. XD

? what bm O_O;;; all in good fun yo o/
he asked "I heard your here with some family?" and u said "ye my dad" and he said "o...my parents say video games r a wast of time." and THEN U SAID "u mad?" lol i know u werent being a jerk but man it felt good to see u take him out with such ease after all the BM he was doing to other players that were just trying to have a good time. BTW u should buy your dad a t shirt that says "security" and have him stand next to u while u play just so maybe then u wont get swammped by like 20 ppl all at once while your trying to play, lol i dunno how much it bugs you or not but just to have your dad wear that t shirt would be pretty awsome. =D
he was the one on the "hannah montana" smurf accout right? i let him borrow my headphones and he was a fkin dick to me still... i hated that guy. well done kawaii haha. i'd definitely pay an extra 15 bucks for the prize pool if you ban that guy.

WHAT!?!?? ur not comin this time??
If we get the 10ish people bringing comps we will prob run the first round Best of 3, as it should be, since we could in theory run 10-15 games at a time for the first few rounds.
So bring comps and reserve a spot!!
I'm coming. Last time was really fun. I'll have my laptop.

Im in Romania

I'll be bringing my laptop. (I'm guessing that qualifies for BYOC.)
Map Selection: A default/starter map will be established for each bracket round and used for the 1st Match in a set.
..Sorry if I've missed it, but has this been established yet or is the starter map for each round being named at the beginning of the tourney?
Thanks in advance..
Infinite 976
Named at beginning of event.
Its very likely I will start at the top and work down the list. So 1st map likely will be starter for Round 1. 2nd for Round 2 (upper bracket), 3rd for Round 3 (upper) and round 2 (lower), etc....
Edward - We will be setting you up in a diff location prob due to how tables config in the back..
Anyone in / passing through Downtown Seattle feel up to giving a fellow SC2-er a ride?
so we can assume metal for first round first map>
So what time should I get there? It starts at noon but I should probably get there ahead of time to get a spot? But the website says it opens at noon on Saturdays...
last time they didn't do registration till almost one, 12 is when people were showing up. we got there at like 11 and no one was there. we went to subway for a bit and then when we got back to gameclucks we were still one of the first people there. so i assume it'd be about the same this time.
nice I'll see all of you guys there!
Doh! didn't find out about this until it's too late -- already have plans for the day. Will try to make it to the next one!
looking forward to it. Hopefully can advance further this time.
Bro's hogging the shower, hopefully I won't be late lol >_>(although, if it really doesn't start til' 1 then I should have no problems :D)
semi finals now! get in here

Bracket http://gameclucks.challonge.com/gamecluckssc2_2
Thanks all for coming!
Next one is on either April 23rd or 30th. 23rd is Sakura-Con weekend and 30th is the 30th. Either way I am not going to be at the event, so Rick (Convict) will run it, just need to know (quickly sort of) which day works better.
