you guys rly believe in 1.5 secs?
how can the koreans even put a single forcefield or micro lings around bases? it is def. not even 0.5 secs - omg i cannot belive you trust in "a friend of mine said that".
when i have lag i also say "3 secs i cannot move" asap sure it's probably exaggerated, but any delay is a huge handicap in online gaming and it's definately impacting the korean players more when playing on the NA server than europeans
i posted that because of the annoying latency-discussion. so they eventually think that thorzain won because of the bad latency as well. read it once again.

Zenio lost like 500 roaches to forcefields which he normally couldve avoided.

It's not optimal, but these guys need to adapt. Easier said than done? Absolutely, but not impossible. It may not be the most entertaining without great micro and could be watered down, but it's doable and not that difficult.

Funnier than the lag-conspiracy talk actually :/. Don't see why it's a conspiracy. A Root member came out and pretty much said exactly how things are. The lag might not be 1.5 seconds, but KR lag is definitely worse than EU lag, bad enough that MC decided to go VR Colossus against Ciara so he wouldn't have to micro. no1 doubts that. VR colossus cause of lag? i lol. still: how is it possible to asap move hold position lings when attacked. i dont get it.
Well, you're citing single instances. Lag likely goes up and down constantly. Either way, it's extremely annoying and detrimental. Just as you cite instances where you don't think the player was lagging, I can cite instances, such as when Check was trying to micro his banelings against Strelok's marines, where the lag was obvious.

oh crap the korean won! what a shit latency!

with 1.5 secs, you couldnt even micro a ling around the tossbase or place a forcefield. it is def. not even 0.5 secs - omg i cannot belive you trust in "a friend of mine said that". when i have lag i also say "3 secs i cannot move" asap
you guys rly take off the fun by talking about lags only. YOU HAVE NO IDEA what you're talking about. not even 0.5 secs?? lol even I have more than 0.5 sec delay playing on NA->KR watch zenios game for instance. his reaction time is top notch as well as his micro with move shotting etc. they certainly have delay, but not as bad as everyone makes it out to be
finally a not blindfolded person here.
thats what i say - they asap move when attacked. i dont doubt its worse to play from KR.
but its not nearly a second... with a second you couldnt even moving shot or anything like that.

when i have lag i also say "3 secs i cannot move" asap When I play on the korean server, the lag is close to 1.5 sec. I wouldn't be surprised if they're actually getting 1+ seconds of latency... and Boxer also mentioned the latency was really really bad for TSL, at least a full second. I don't know about you but I give more credit to boxer than "a friend of mine" it wasnt boxer who said it, it was his gf but just watching the games tells a different story. stalker attacks a ling on hold position. 0.3 secs later the ling moves. how is that possible with 1 sec latency... do you guys even know how much a second is in a RTS?^^
yeah you must've had a stopwatch out and measured that 0.3 seconds huh? point is, 1 second lag is possible. this is from personal experience 4~ days ago. you have no idea what you're talking about...

Well you're implying that old jokes are just not funny, which isn't true. It depends on the person. As Tastosis say "joke funny>joke not funny>joke more funny than it used to be". Although there is some truth to what idra says

How can they not tell an admin beforehand to get in the game and tell them to wait for the casters. I love this tourney but, it seems they could at least improve upon this area. Just have one person dedicated on getting the next match. Not pissed just a little frustrated. Other than that great tournament with awesome participants.
This usually depends more on the players than the admin... Some guys are trigger happy to start the game and its hard to get anywhere near that game.
It gets easier as the tournament progresses. This is the only problem with 64man instead of 32 man invitationals, 32 man you cna pick and choose alot easier.
However we are working on another method at the moment that we will test with our qualifiers for our next event.
Thanks for the constructive criticism, is appreciated.

On March 26 2011 12:22 FXOpen wrote: Guys you are talking about delay in seconds.... Let me put it into perspective.
When I was in Korea, ping to NA was 310-410 ms.
Accordingly to someone close to me in korea, since the japan earthquake its now almost double that.
I dont know what the seconds delay or whatever would be... I guess it would depend. But i'd say it effects those micro based players.
300-400ms is already bad imo. if you put latency in a perspective of an First Person Shooter, it means all the difference in the world. 80 ms will give you like a slight delay under around 0.5 secs, maybe lower. 200 ms is normally like 1-1.5sec delay. 400ms is LOL, shoot, wait 2-3 seconds, then the bullet will register.
Doesnt really apply to only micro based players but in general lag does play a huge role. Running away zerglings from forcefields, forcefielding the army properly, stim kiting, EMP, basically any spell-cast is hugely affected because the guy with 80ms is gonna have an upperhand vs the guy with 400 ms.

Yeah stop watching please. I know you from a german forum I guess and you talk the same shit over and over again. I predict you didn't even know who ddoro is, right?
I will stop complaining about it now, because it's kind of confirmed. I don't want to take away skill off of the foreigners, they played fairly good so far and affirm my consideration about the small skill gap (it's far far being away from the BW skill gap). But I'm still not happy about two things: Poeple who hype foreigner because of their wins about koreans (with the known issues) and that I can't hype the foreigners as well for the same reason. Just a bitter taste. : /

tell me how to moving shot like zenio did with 1 sec, or move lings when attacked asap. when you have the answer, i might get conviced it is a second.

I love when the Chinese caster used the new hide UI feature right before the gg in the last Socke game. I like this guy, I have him muted, but he is funny.
