CEVO-P Playoffs Round 3 Team rS vs Team EG

Starting Map: Xel'Naga Caverns

CEVO-P Playoff Brackets

With the CEVO-P Playoffs nearing the end, finals around the corner, the inevitable was going to happen. Team rS the number 3 seed would have to face the number 2 seed powerhouse,Team EG once again. This season both teams have met two times, with a even record of [1-1] in the CEVO-P Season.(Overall record this year of Team rS [2-1] Team EG). The matches between these two teams have always been action packed and extremely intense. They have always produced great games for all of our fans, and I hope to see many more to come between these two teams. May the best team win and best of luck to who ever makes it to the finals!!

Early Match Set:

The night started off with both teams, having 1 player play in a early match set due to one of the members not being able to make the original match time of 9pm CST.

Early Bo3 1v1 Match:

rSBoO vs EGAxslav

Bo3 1v1 Matches:

rSMaker vs EGStrifeCro
rSVer vs EGiNcontroL
rSMystiK vs EGLzGaMeR

Match Recap:

First Half:

The night started off in favor of Team EG with a very early match set win over Team rS, striking with force in their early match. Team EG's EGAxslav took Team rS's rSBoO down [2-0] first on the starting map Xel'Naga Caverns and later on the Terran favored map Lost Temple. This was quite a blow to Team rS seeing that rSBoO was a key component to helping Team rS take down Team EG in our last match. After the hour and a half intermission Team rS had rSMaker face Team EG's Ace player last match EGStrifeCro in their Bo3 Match ending in some very intense matches. The matches started with EGStrifeCro taking the first match on Xel'Naga Caverns, and then rSMaker fought back strong in game 2 picking Delta Quadrant as his map of choice. The match finally ended the first half on Scrap Station being a slightly favored map for Zerg giving EGStrifeCro just the edge needed to take down rSMaker one of Team rS's Ace match players. The outcome was looking extremely grim for Team rS, with yet ANOTHER match where they were down [0-2] at the end of the first half of matches.

Second Half:

In the last two matches, it was rSVer and rSMaker who were stuck in this situation with all of the burden placed on their shoulders. The story didn't change much rSVer was no stranger to this situation and played for Team rS as their third player vs Team EG's very ownEGiNcontroL! rSVer like always kept his calm as usual and took game one from his opponent on the starting map Xel'Naga Caverns. EGiNcontroL wasn't going to go down easy taking rSVer down in the 2nd game on Metalopolis getting Team EG one step closer to taking Team rS down and ending their winning streak. The match [1-1] was played on the next map picked by rSVer Lost Temple with a nail biting win for Team rS. Once again rSVer has kept Team rS in the match giving them the momentum needed to bring his teammates hope in their next match. At the same time rSMystik was down [0-1] losing to EGLzGaMeR losing on Xel'Naga Caverns the starting map. Before rSVer's final match was won rSMystik's 2nd match was underway leaving Team rS to wait for the out come of the 2nd game currently down [2-1] vs Team EG. rSMystik won a crucial match on Shakuras Plateau reviving all hope, giving Team rS to possibly force yet another "Ace Match". With the game down to the wire and both players read to play, EGLzGaMeR picked his 3rd and final game to play on Steppes of War. This map heavily favoring Terran due to the vast amount of options that Terran have against the Zerg. The match was extremely intense, EGLzGaMeR used a very strong build, almost finishing off his opponent, but with superior decision making rSMystik came out on top. Only to force the "Ace Match" giving Team rS a huge win keeping them alive can they extend their streak to 13 wins??? Check below to find out!

ACE Match:

Team rS no stranger to this situation with many of "Ace Matches" played this season, have become quite used to being in this spot, always producing results when needed. Both Teams with their pride on the line, and the advancement to play Team NrG in the 1st set of Finals at stake. Brought the "Ace Match" with Team rS picking rSVer to face yet again EGiNcontroL to play their 2nd match of the night. Will Team EG's Hulking player get revenge and make rSVer pay for winning his first set of games or will rSVer come out on top once again? Both players came out with guns blazing only to have EGiNcontroL push on early costing him the game having rSVer winning the first game on Xel'Naga Caverns. EGiNcontroL picked the 2nd map again to be Metalopolis in which he won in their first match set. This time rSVer had everything covered and ended the match with a very powerful bio push forcing yet again another Team rS upset bringing them one step closer to becoming the CEVO-P Champion!!
