He pretty much has. Not 100%, but the stars would have to align for him to not make it.

50 k?

I fully expect with all the Koreans playing that they will get some massive restream-age over there.

For once, there will be Afreeca restreams of livestream/ustream.

Im actually really dissapointed about not inviting MarineKingPrime. instead you invite the famous players who has not performed anything spectacular in SC2 yet.

Loner is an amazing player and without this invite China would not have a fair chance of being represented. It's a true international tournament now. With so many fantastic Terran players who do you invite with limited slots? That's a shame - but I think they made the right choices when you consider the issue from all points of view.

TL wants to reach out to China esp. since during Beta, there were many foreigner events hosted by the Chinese that invited European/US players. Doesn't hurt that China is probably going to become one of the new meccas of eSports (if not quite SC).

It explains why Loner and why no MKP.

It doesn't. MKP still performed better than every Terran on the list in GSL2/3..? GSL isn't the only tournament.

For the love of all that's holy, I hope TL doesn't use livestream for TSL 3.

I wasn't involved in the invite side of things, but my personal feeling is that we needed on Chinese player. The first two TSLs restricted players based on residency because we did not have the infrastructure to deal with it.

Our main goal with the TSL 3 was to open it up to everyone in the world, thus the qualifier/invite system. If we didn't have at least one Chinese player, we would not have met our goal.

While MarineKingPrime might be more accomplished, I don't think Loner is a terrible player by any means. He brings other contributions to the tournament and helps us fulfill our vision.

edit - D'oh Plexa just said the same thing that I did, but in much nicer words. I should have just quoted him.

Not really any point in worrying about cheese. I doubt any matches will be bo1, and if MVP loses to Cruncher in a Bo3 then Cruncher deserves to win.

I'm actualy MKP #1 fan, I understand they choose Nada because he's actualy good at the game. Boxer not so much (but we don't really know, he's lacking vs zerg only) but how could they not invite him.
Still, without MKP something will be missing from TSL imo.

Looking at the points, both Nightend and Morrow have possibly secured a spot in TSL 3.

I was going to agree with you there, but when I think about it, the famous players are still awesome players. They're in code S of GSL, that's quite a feat there. But I really did want MKP

Agreed. Although to note, Boxer's v zerg is good nowadays. His only real problem was not expanding enough, which he does now.

Boxer is not really good at the game? How the hell did he get that far in the GSL then.

MKP might be the better player at the end of the day, but I'd say from a "marketing" point of view or something (don't know how to exactly call it) it's smarter to invite the chinese player...

Also NaDa and Boxer are ovious choices because they're fucking legends.

Just read through the reasoning on the invites in the news. I guess overall you got to agree - great invites even if there are some stronger players

This game will be the perfect demonstration of the timing morrow is always missing vs P that I keep talking about. Wait for his gold base finish, you'll see he has a BIG, BIG timing window to crush NightEnd, but he'won't use it then be rolled (or have a hard time) by colossi.

As Plexa written it, they had no chance to know that MKP will be in the final of GSL4 when they sent the invites
