I don't have any problems with blistering sands. The teams choose their player for the map ahead of time so any "imbalances" shouldn't matter. The teams pick the player who best knows how to abuse the map.

I'm really excited for this because Liquid is the only top team we have yet to play, so it should be a really nice barometer for where we're at. Also, the stakes are really big, if we win we have a nice shot at the playoffs, but if we lose... it'll be tough O_O~

I think the Sen vs TLO game depends a lot upon what race TLO is spawning as.
If he spawns as T i think sen has a very good chance at taking this one since Blistering Sands is certainly one of the harder maps for terran against zerg. Then again if he spawns protoss it could give sen a lot of trouble. (especially since his protoss seemed really strong lately)
On the said match i cant quite decide but overall i think Liquid is gonna take this with Fnatic putting up a good fight, should be very entertaining. (but i miss the iNcontroL/Gretorp casting awesomeness even though JP and diggity are very good casters as well)

I think so too. Only ace match would be Ret. Fenix is super strong and this could be close, but I see him winning. Sen I haven't seen playing in a while, but this map against TLO might be hard. Ret just won a tournament and will carry that over and TT1 vs Haypro depends really a lot on the positions.

I hope Haypro wins. The more wins he earns in tournaments like these have got to have a postive impact on his confidence, and will hopefully help him against Ganzi in GSL Code A. He seems like a quiet kind of guy, at least I don't see his posts very often. Ret too, I hope he keeps his assembly momentum going all the way to Code S.

TLO tried to do the VR/Colossi strategy but it was clearly not a good choice against a super aggressive player like Sen especially when you're behind on tech due to the 2-gate and is on Blistering Sands.

Ret's huge push does a ton of damage and without any tanks, the banelings with speed eats the marines up. SCVs are getting pulled and the roaches are sitting on the production of kawaii. He ggs.

okok. Haypro spawns as the red zerg at 12 and TT1 spawns as the blue toss at 6.
Haypro goes pool into relatively quick hatch and TT1 is going the standard 3 gates with sentry first.

Haypro gets a roach warren pretty early as TT1 expands off 3 gates. Haypro loses a scouting overlord to 3 sentries at the back of TT1's base.

Haypro is getting +1 missile weapons and his roach speed finishes. Hydra den just does down. TT1 is getting a robo facility as well. Mothership is close to finishing as well as +1 ground weapons.

Haypro is taking a 4th as well as getting a spire out. He is constantly pumping out upgrades for his roach/hydra army. He starts +1 flyer upgrade immediately but does not make any corrupters.

+ Show Spoiler +Unless the Ace match's Ace match is moved to a different folder, just like how the first four matches were out in the open Putting all three Ace matches together would auto-spoil game two, since you could figure out who wins it once we see game one! Just assume you don't know anything

TLO opens with 15 hatch and gets his extractor and pool after. Fenix is doing the standard 12 rax 13 gas with a tech lab immediately afterwards.

I believe they said that Incontrol/Gretorp just get sent 3 replays no matter how long the series is, and if it's a 2-0 one is just a dummy replay.

Fenix makes a reaper and gets his second gas very quick before his factory. Fenix tries to make a bunker at TLO's natural but is stopped by 2 drones. The reaper gets 1 kill before being taken out.

Sending a random player, even if it is TLO, seems stupid in an ace match (esp when you know JB is a map). You basically put things in lucks hands rather then just send up a solid single race player and just rolling.

I don't see how you can justify using a random player (or better yet TLO not just picking terran) in an ace match that is pretty important from the way inc talks about this match.
Here is the choices:
1. Put everything in lucks hands. Pray that you don't get zerg on bad maps/positions. Pray that they don't send out a protoss and your random doesn't get protoss at all, let alone twice or three times. Pray he has enough practice in that MU compared to someone who only plays a single race
or
2. Send out a player where you know exactly what to expect.

Really? I didn't see the first two games, but Haypro was really confused half the time and TT1 played incredibly sloppy when he could have easily stopped those double-pronged attacks with no damage.

I think Tyler and Ret's games were the most high-level in terms of how good and solid they were.

There were no really "great" games, just a lot of wins due to opponent errors. Nothing spectacular.

Poor TLO
Really though I have to question liquids' judgement on player choice for the ace match-it cost them. Putting a random user up for jungle basin vs T with the risk of rolling zerg which is almost an auto loss. I don't know if TLO was tired or still recovering from carpal tunnel but he was making a lot of mistakes and seemed rather indecisive.
Really interesting game by Ret though, that push through the middle totally caught kawaii with his pants down, even the casters were shocked lol.
I'd have to say overall though I was a bit disappointed in the matches. Oh well congrats to MSIfanatic on staying in it.
