I will definitely go there!

Looks like i'll need to travel to Italy :p Do you already know who will be casting ?
Is the prize listed in USD or Euros?
Seems like more and more of these events pop up! Makes me VERY happy:D also a prize pool! Guess ill have to buy a new screen to support samsungXD

Pretty impressive prize pool... is that more than Assembly?

7k $>5k € (as in assembly)

Hurrah, another big event. I think you should put the prize money in the title so people like me notice.

Quoted.

Also i believe TLO is going to attend this event, in his interview during assembly, he mentioned going to a large Italian tournament in the future. This tournament is both Italian and large, TLO please be there

The prize pool for this tournament is pretty enormous!
I'll be looking forward into seeing who's going to be attending.
40 euro entry fee but for 7k you can bet that top level competition will be there.
^ True, although it's a bit unfortunate that it's on the same weekend as MLG Dallas. But I'm sure most top Europeans will go.

good luck with the event, Stermy and friends
Perhaps a Mod should include the prize pool in the title? I almost missed it for such a big tournament.
so is it allowed to bring ur own comp and play or not?: have to use their?

The Professional Tournaments will boast a $30,000 Prizepurse and on top of that there will be a Lan Party BYOC (Bring your own computer) with 1.000 places available.
Initially we are proud to announce official tournaments for the following games: QuakeLive, Starcraft 2 and Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for PC, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 and Super StreetFighter 4 for Console. In the coming days we will announce more games and more tournaments!

Why make it on the same weekend as MLG? That sucks
Finally something in Italy!! I think I'll go there
Cloud seems to be on form lately, maybe he can have an awesome lan at home!, looking forward to it, hopefully we see alot of top players there:D
Oh God I have a house 30 minutes from there and I am gonna be in Italy during that period :D Awesome stuff! If anyone needs info on the area (how to get there, where to say, what to do) just let me know, I used to go to Lignano every summer so I know it pretty damn well - it's a nice place to see, definitely consider going if you wanna eat and see a very nice town :D

We are going to release full rules and schedule this week. Just so you guys know, the tournament will start on thursday the 31st March and a book hotel page will be available on our website shortly. If you are in a hurry to book the hotel inside the village, you can still do so by sending us an email at travel @ theugc.it

glad that Italy finally get some SC2 love looking forward to it
but it is kinda bad/shame that it's the same weekend as MLG, any chance that the event can be moved a week? or is that too late with booking ect?

UGS nice work dude! it will be a great tournament i'm sure!
i don't believe all of the top euros will travel to italy, some of them will go to MLG i'm sure of it!
If i was in charge of a team i would probably send half of my team to italy and another to MLG, italy is cheaper but MLG has more prestige!
hope to see both lans full

MLG is 16 seeded players + 128 or 256 in the open tournament (not sure about the exact amount)

hmmm with this playerlist perhaps I should think of going as player :D top 8 should be possible ;D

Maybe they are all afraid of the invincible Goody.

Cloud, Goody and Hasu will dominate this tournement when no other player suddenly show up. GL for our German boys (thats includes cloud ^^ hope he becomes established in the future)

Looking forward to great matches

just so sad that all the good players are not attending :<

Yeah, few more players signing up, will be good a blast anyway :D:D

Interesting tour no doubt, i hope the entry fee will get more top europeans there.
Definitely gonna follow it.

We will be kicking things off tomorrow, keep an eye on the Teamliquid calender and frontpage for streaming information. You can also find all streams for all events including SC2 at http://www.stermy.com
This is such bad timing for a big prize pool
Not many pros signed up, which is quite strange considering the prize money. And it's tomorrow already oO, easy money for HasuObs, GoOdy, Cloud it seems thus far.

The event has been scheduled for months, its hardly UGCs fault if other big tournaments also decide to run on that day.

It's unfortunate that you've jumped to the conclusion that DarkRise assigned blame towards the UGC. It couldn't have been a broad and valid statement from a spectator’s point of view, right?

NOOOOOOOOOoooo tl calendar has never failed me before my world is falling apart.

Hmmm only 10 people payed and 27/64 registered?! You could maybe change the tourney format or increase the bo x ? Well i 'll tune in regardless ( but i hope goOdy is coming, cause we clearly need some cloud vs goOdy hype if other big names are missing :D ).
Edit: At which time does quake live start? Will there be an english cast?
I really hope that some more pro's gonna just show up for this at the event and just wanted to hide that they are coming. :D Even with mlg they are so many good europeans that could make at least top6^^ Anyways i'm excited
Shouldn't the quake tournament already have been started? This homepage is so confusing. =( Guess I'll have to wait for the teamliquid coverage sc2 stream. ^^
Edit: Nvm it is in about 5 hours... but srsly I'm not smart enough for their page.

Starcraft stream will be at http://www.own3d.tv/stermy#/live/42336. We are getting it registered on Teamliquid. Just met up with Cloud and Goody. Tournament is expected to start at calendered time and will be spread over 4 days so the players get plenty of time to chill and enjoy the LAN. I will keep you posted.

Ok here is the situation. Technical issues delayed things, we will be playing a small number of group stage matches at 7pm CEST, 6pm BST, 1pm EST. The group stages will start in earnest at 10am CEST, 9am BST, 4am EST tomorrow.
Apollo will be doing the drawings soon on the stream and an explanation of the format will be given.

this and as i know from our man at the lan, there are some streamproblems. Some matches will startet today at 19pm CEST and most of the group stage will startet tomorrow morning at 10am CEST.

Italy as usual fails to deliver in time, let's hope that the atleast deliver something....

Can someone restream them plx

Stream is extremely laggy for me, and its not my side that has the problem I believe. I never lag when watching streams. I'm thinking it should be lagging for everyone?

Hasu, Goody and Cloud (and Delphi) will be quite thankful for MLG+GSLWorldcup. Such a big pricepool and so few good contestants. Still some good europeans left who don't play any of these.

Some guys can really make a lot of money in an easy way. If you think about the hard way in the MLG from the open bracket...^^
On April 01 2011 01:22 antilyon wrote: At least goody isn't on cloud group, he would rage.
For the moment, yes. Still with double elimination playoffs (they said this on stream) its almost impossible they won't play eachother :D.
Rules on the website say single-elimination, but also 16(!) groups of 4.
Making 3k within a few hours have never been so easy i think :D hoping for hasu to win this one
If they really want to play over 4 days they could put all players in one group, with top 8 in the playoffs and then have a double elimination... xD
Well, there's like 25° outside, they can go party on the beach :D
Interesting to see someone among those players are gonna get $3100 for winning the tourney. If I was TLO or a player of equal skill, I would ignore MLG and just go there to get some easy cash.

Hasu, Goody and Cloud are top europeans (all in NASL) and probably (almost) equal skill to TLO. I think it`s more interesting to see another player win at least 500$.

Hey, I want to update you guys since I love TL more than my girlfriend. Schedule is not planned, we dont have any schedule, we dont know what is happening 99% of the time so really sorry for that. Tomorrow iam going to troll the admin who doenst speak english .. to try and get something solid out from him. No more games today, I spoke with Hasuobs before and he only played one game winning 2-0 vs TtIWulverate along with Goodys 2-0 vs Delphi. The rest of the group stage will be played tomorrow.
They told us, they want to start 10am but from experience, my expectations are probably later than that ,12onwards... I cant give you a solid time because its so not planned out so well at the moment, I will try sort it out for you guys to have a good day of Starcraft2 action tomorrow.
Much love, dApollo

Want some pocket insulting italian lines? :D j/k

We are scheduled to start fairly soon. TL calender is wrong again since UGC rescheduled again,I will try and grab an admin to get that sorted, but the streaming link remains the same and we should be doing this most of the day.
No wonder almost no pro player choose to show up at the UGC if the admins dont speak English

nice cant wait which game are you gonna broadcast first? Hasu-Cloud?

eqez i think you probly shuld look at the gsl for that reson the best gamers out there are atm in korea for the gsl world championship

All times are in CEST
11:30 Cloud vs Hasu
12:30 Goody vs Tristareagle
14:00 Delphi vs Tristareagle
15:30 Hasu vs Loz
17:00 Cloud vs wulverate

As your italian yourself i think you a good source. Is it that bad in Italy? Most times i made vacations there i could speak english with them. ok, international camping sites but this is a quite huge event with 7000euro price money, can´t imagine they had no english speaking admin or official translater.
question too streaming: schedule posted here? would be perhaps good idea to make it an overlay on stream if your not live. could be easily updated if there are changes and I can just watch quake in between
Edit: nevermind, should have updated befor posting...
well tb i can tell you are talking on the 2
We are on stream 2, going live in 15mins, first game starts in 25mins
The schedule looks like a Germany vs Italy CW! :D The last time it was 5-0 i think!
Stream started!
Yeah, this is totally a Germany vs Italy tournament. German lineup looking strong, but Cloud should be on fire being the hometown hero and all (so to speak). When does that ever happen for an Italian SC2 player? :D
Best of luck to all involved...

We love you guys, too. ^_^
If all else fails, use Cloud as a translator!

Hasu vs cloud just started .. seems like the tl event schedule is completely off
That was actually a rly good game! Hasu hwaiting.
Damn that first game was quite awesome I must say. This is looking to be a quite exciting tournament
Stareagle isn't that unknown in the european scene. Quite a good onlineplayer - though I didn't see him play at an offline event yet. To bad goOdy will rape him and win the tournament! :D
Edit: Woaaaah Stareagles play looks so nervous...
Yeah but his mechanics do look rly off.
ha ha goody supplyblocked with 9 scvs queued on 2 orbitals hehe
Just watching the Goody vs StarEagle.. They missed StarEagle runing helions into Goody's main and Goody droping a drop on StarEagle's main.

One or two games are listed at readmore but apparently they don't have all ressults either. But Apollo said he'd inform us after this break, which ends in 5-10 mins.

No online brackets for a 7000 EUR tournament makes me rage. >_>

Hasu won against Cloud? Didn't expect that.

The commentators even said they did not know all the results of the matchs!?

Any of the caster knows if it's possible to enter in that gaming area as a visitor? Might come there tomorrow, I'm pretty close.

Yeah you can enter as visitor and internet problem atm for the production team, will keep you updated
Not many players registered yet, you think thats gonna change? Maybe the date wasnt that good concerning many went to MLG.
Awesome, thanks for the group links, guys.
Cloud lost against "TRILoz"? Surprising. Anyone know the tournament format and how many players will be advancing from the groups? From the tournament brackets, it looks like it's a double elimination starting from the Ro8, which implies 4 people advancing from each group.

Man, who are these guys? Both Loz and Stareagle showing some great play against clear favourites Hasu/Goody, even if it wasn't enough to take the series. Loz did win against Cloud, and Stareagle against Delphi, though.

They're both pretty good, with over 4200 ladder points in the last season. Stareagle has won a couple of Craftcup i think, and has always been a good player since the brood war times (he took the 1st spot over Cloud in WCG Italy 2006).

they are both seeded players so to get more interesting games they dont set up higher seeded agisnt each other

On April 02 2011 18:35 aule10 wrote: they are both seeded players so to get more interesting games they dont set up higher seeded agisnt each other
It's more likely they created a mini table for the 3 tied players Stareagle, Baffino and Delphi. The ranking of such a tiebreaker would be Baffino(2-0, 1-2), Stareagle(2-0, 0-2) and then Delphi(2-1, 0-2).

Nice match so far between Delphi and HasuObs, pretty back and forth.

Can't believe Goody lost against that Swiss guy. :o
Good thing it's a double elimination format.
Hasu, Goody and Cloud are the clear favourites for the tournament. Delphi, Loz and Stareagle are the second tier behind that.

Thanks to QuadV for providing an outstanding production and streaming setup so far. Disappointed with the schedule problems but hopefully it will clear up as we get further into the day.

btw Apollo or TotalBiscuit could you set up your Stream online @ TL?

Cheese is the bane of Goody's existence!
...and good mechanics.
+ Show Spoiler +
No, but seriously. If you're a player of Goody's calibre, you should be able to stop any and all cheese from a weaker player. Like Tyler said on SotG sometime - if you lose to cheese, you deserve the loss.
there was no cheese in that games..wulverate is a good player capable of beating goody straight up any day. i mean taking a fast gold vs goody's style is not really cheesy..it is just a flaw in his mech strategy.
Well, since the games weren't being broadcasted, I can only go by what dapollo and totalbiscuit were saying.
That said, if he's really good, we'll see that when his semi is broadcasted.
was observer in both games, wulverate is good vs goody's style but stareagle or however he is called plays different then goody, much more aggressiv, harass etc. so we will see, i root for my friend ofc :D

Congrats to Cloud, Stareagle and HasuObs for their top three finish already. My money's on either Cloud or Hasu, with the obvious advantage of being in the WB for Cloud (meaning Hasu would have to win two Bo3s to win the whole tournament).

I've been there yesterday, and yes it is pretty empty. In my opinion, the location is really nice, but the period of the year is not.
Lignano is a touristic city, and it's full of people between june - september, the rest of the year is almost a ghost town. There isn't any real big city really close to it. It was predictable to have really few people attending as spectators.

Doesn't the loser of the winnerbracket final play against hasu and than the winner of that game against the winner of the winnerbracket final? ^^

I don't know if they will release replays or how, all I can tell is that i've seen a Staff member ask Delphi to store replays on a flash drive -> good thing imo.

Cast is live now!

Also hi @ TBs wife. Why are you both not living together?
I don't get it, was the winner bracket final between Cloud and Stareagle bo1?
@trancey_ Because he does running commentary when I spawn dinner.
the production of the stream is really great, nice quality, good overlays, good commentary.
thx stermy for putting this event up.
Yeah Hasu! :D
Grand final: Cloud vs HasuObs!!!
edit: If the caster see this: How will the finals been played? Bo3 and Hasu has to win two bo3s coming from the LB?

Is there any way we can get the finals put on the calender? this deserves more viewers.
Btw big thanks to apollo and TB for keeping us informed all the time!

It is, but the schedule is so in flux and they are having problems embedding it.

The scheduling of this event is a little lacking.

i dont care it could even clash with Soccer Worldcup Final. Its HasuObs vs ClouD!
great job btw, try to get a new chair
I'd say UGC's wasn't the best organized sc2 tourney of all the times, but hey, they're trying hard and Italy definitely needs a bigger eSports scene, so keep up the good work.
Also thanks to d.Apollo and Biscuit for casting amazingly as usual, thumbs up for ya, can't wait for the finals

Hasu looked so cool after that win. :D
holy shit that is some amazing void ray micro
Pretty sick voidray micro right there by Hasu.

Well played Hasu!

Holy shit that's some beyond epic Void Ray control O_O Gotta love the War3 skills Congratulations Hasu!
Hasu !!! :-) awesome micro
sickest void ray micro i have ever seen. That was CRAZY!
that was ridiculous micro from hasuobs. got a protoss boner from watching that.
That voidray micro was ungodly, awesome final game :D
congrats Hasu. That was some awesome control.
That was pretty awesome. Congrats Hasu!
Wow that looked like a bo win for cloud.
And then this unbelievable void ray micro, I have never seen anything like that.
Grats Hasu, we can expect a lot from this guy in the future.
Lol wtf? ClouD is totally pissed of? "This game right now is a joke, you have to blind counter everything" blabla. He went for a 14 Command Center, then whines a 1 base all-in with Void Rays (controlled masterfully, like absolutely friggin' amazing) beats that, come on man. Hasu's control was 10x better than ClouD's...
He took a big risk by even showing that Command Center to the scouting Probe, Hasu punished it. Get over it.
LOL cloud!
laughing so hard right now
Whoa, Cloud is on tilt in the interview, calling the game a joke.
I have to say, that tournament was pleasant. I did only catch a few games, but those were entertaining, and Apollo+TotalBiscuit work great as a casting team.
I hope someone recorded that Cloud rage, that was funny as hell ^^
Nice final games
I want that last game as a vod. Sick, sick micro. :o
Congrats Hasu! So cool that he's getting more recognition and continues the great run he's had so far this year.

This^. Omg I can't believe I missed it! I hope it's posted somewhere soon.
will replays be released?
oh man, i missed it, too *damn*
Hasus Voidmicro was epic, he totally deserved the win. And TB and dApollo are an awesome casting team hope we see more of this teamup
thats not really rage by cloud he is saying that for months now and well hasu analysed clouds build orders and hit the perfect timings with the early 2 base pushes while cloud is getting upgrades and techs to medivacs, i wouldn't call that blind counter he was just to predictable.
anyway, wp by hasu <3
LOL ClouD is still pissed off during his medal ceremony :D Check out the look on his face, priceless.
nice tournament, stermy do it again, and get some real schedule up
And that's why you shouldn't interview the loser.
But I feel really sad for Cloud. Got pissed off just by watching those games, so I can imagine how he feels having played them. Hopefully he won't let it bring him down though, Cookie Monster-Toss hwaiting!
poor terran boy mad that he can't do any opening he wants anymore and still win the game like some time ago. only joke here is you

Hasu has some of the best micro I've seen in all of SC2 so far. I mean it's pretty stereotypical, with him being a WC3 player, but I've seen alot of WC3 legends in SC2 and Hasu is just out microing all of them. On top of that he's not letting his macro slip an he's just powering through the competition lately. Now add the fact that he's a fellow german, and you can bet your asses that I have become a huge Hasu fan in the last few months. Congratz!!! and much much luck in the fututre Dennis!
God i dislike TotalBiscuit, his analyzing is lacking, he argues with dapollo, unprofessional. Other than that the event have been a blast, great matches. Hasu brings epic games!
thanks for amazing tournament will look forward to t he next UGC event
if it was already posted, mods, feel free to delete this post cloud is upset.. it's at around min 51:40
i think he is just disappointed, cloud is a nice guy if i can tell from seeing him from time to time @take's stream/vods
what's more important to me is the sick voidray micro i can now see in the vod :D
Definitely the most fun I've had casting, some incredible games. Thanks to UGC for the event, here's hoping for a 2nd, larger SC2 tournament.
God i dislike TotalBiscuit, his analyzing is lacking, he argues with dapollo, unprofessional.
I am a play by play caster, I do not analyse, that is the analysts role. Crossing over into the assigned role of your co-caster is unprofessional, not vice-versa. Apollo was the analyst. Also we did not argue at all, I have no idea what you're talking about. Friendly banter to entertain the crowd is not the same as arguing.
I like to read threads like this to gather feedback on how to improve my casting but sometimes, it's like they are watching a different stream.

Well maybe I was a bit too angry, but anyone would have been as upset after losing a tournament grand final to cheese three times in a row. There was really no decent games and the impossibility to scout made it feel like I just lost due to unlucky decisions. This makes me feel the game is just wrong, skill doesn't matter nearly as much as SC1 and it's an huge disappointment for me.

That's kind of true. It's gonna be the first time I agree with ClouD. lol But still, HasuObs is an amazing player! Always enjoyed his play :p

And another tournament victory for Protoss. At least it wasn't PvP finals.
Hey Cloud, you will get your first LAN in the future. You are too hardworking and dedicated not to be a champ. Hard work will be rewarded.
Totalbiscuit, I really liked you and dapollo. Just one minor thing. When you got excited, you interrupted dapollo too often. Fortunately for the viewers he didn't seem to care much about it.

You do seem to dabble a bit more into some 'mild analysis' lately, probably due to a better understanding of the game. It is ofcourse kind of hard where to draw the line from 'play to play' and analysis. But there is no need to, I thought you two had some nice chemistry and seemed to have a lot of fun, and it showed in the casting. I enjoyed it a lot.
