Great last game. Jinro being able to withstand that brutal muta-harass was remarkable.

I think that IdrA's choice to make several cross-map expansions ended up hurting his unit production and positioning in the long run.

Did gretorp seriously say jinro out-macroed idra?

It was 7 vs 3 base...

Macro is a lot more than how many bases you have. It's about your overall map presence, your upgrades, your bases, your production. It's really just the blanket term for your entire gameplay outside of specific instances of micro.

Gretorp knows what he's talking about. Seriously. :D

And that were some epic games. Jinro played so good. Sadly Idra didn't research blingspeed...

Why are there so many zerg tears?

Idra didnt get baneling speed. He didnt upgrade. Two very obvious mistakes.

Now tell me: what mistakes did Jinro do?

Fellow eSports fans,

We know that you’ve been waiting for something like this to happen for a long time. We want to take a moment to explain our long-term goals for both the North American Star League and eSports as a whole.

NASL has been our dream since we first saw foreigners travel to Korea. We stayed up late to watch those epic matches, we followed the forum coverage and the live report threads. But it wasn’t enough.

It had to happen here.

We knew we had to go big or go home. We needed an epic prize pool. We needed the best players. Most importantly, we needed the passion and excitement that comes from competition at the highest level; from watching two masters battle it out knowing that only one will win.

With that in mind, let us explain some of the details of how we get to that point.

First, we focus on the players. That means telling a story so that every match means something. We want you to connect on a personal level with the players, so that their victory lifts you up, and you feel the crush of their defeat.

Second, we need world-class production quality for every show. Only the best show does justice to the best players.

Third, we will listen to our audience. The community never ceases to amaze us with its ingenuity and determination. We think if we keep you close, we can’t go wrong. And last of all, we must remember why we do this: for the love of the game.

Of course, in all of this we couldn’t forget our European fans. All too often do American organizations call something “Global” or a “World Series” by virtue of inviting a few Canadians. Don’t worry; we want to get you involved as much as we can.

Our ultimate goal is to use Starcraft as a catalyst. We want to use the best game, and the most hardcore audience to open the gates for eSports in the West. We want it so that you can turn on the TV and watch live matchups between the very best. Eventually, we want more people to watch eSports than watch Baseball, Hockey or even the Superbowl.

We aren’t going to be able to do this alone. We are going to need your help. Tell your friends about the league, get a premium ticket or even just tune in and enjoy. But remember, this league is more than just a league; it’s the beginning of a new age for eSports in the West. So if you decide that this idea is worth supporting, please support us.

Russell Pfister and Duncan Stewart

Oh my GOD. Was Idra HIGH? How do you fall that far behind on upgrades? Bling speed? Jesus, how do you go ling/bling/muta and just, you know...fucking FORGET +1 carapace upgrade until the last minute? I'm an Idra fan, and that was just so painful to watch...

GG Jinro.

yea i agree. Idra seemed very off all these games, didnt recognize his play at all.

Game 6 was a worthy game for a showmatch as hyped as this one. Glad to see Idra stick around and battle back and forth. Losing the spire was a crusher, as was not having bling speed. GGs to both guys, and the casters. Regardless of what the trolls say, this was hella enjoyable, and the majority of us are really appreciative. The production could've been slightly more polished, but just use that as constructive criticism for any events you put on in the future. Thanks again, and GEE GEEEEE.

How can terran be fucking harrassed like that and STILL be EVEN CLOSE to a lead???? Fucking ridiculous...

Harassing a terran doesn't seem to do anything. You can kill half their SCVs but then they can just throw down MULES and regain their income. HMMM seems like bad game design IMO.

You do realize that Jinro went 15 CC, right? He had a huge economic advantage because he got away with the super fast expo. That advantage disappeared due to Idra's outstanding harass, and then Idra threw the game away when he forgot to get upgrades.

Far from it. It's a lofty goal, but I know they will do their best to achieve it.

IdrA lost because he forgot baneling speed and because he didn't upgrade his units. 3/3 marines are one of the most cost effective units in the game. Jinro kept up the SCV count the whole game and even though he didn't have as many bases he didn't need as many bases because the bulk of his army was in marines. IdrA had infestors and banelings, the two necessary tools to take down marines, but just couldn't because of no baneling speed and no upgrades on the zerglings he needed to clean up afterward, so he lost.
