Where's Kas? ;o
Meh, I see a 3-0 coming really. Fnatic should take it for sure.
|
fnatic gonna rape this, clean sweep incoming

KawaiiRice hwaiting~!
Btw how did you guys choose the time? It's super late for us Europeans
|
Beastyqt played really well in the recent ESL cup against Haypro. I cant remember Frum or Aristeo. If Kas would play and Diestar wouldnt have left i would bet my money on Empire. But this doesnt looks so good :X
|
actually it's like.... super early
|
Looking forward to this, although i have to ask: Why isnt the most handsome player of all times (iam talking about Gretorp of course!) in this. I havent seen him play or stream in such a long time
|
Dont think aristeo or frum will be able to win their matches. Only chance for empire I see is nani and beastyqt winning + winning the ace match. Fnatic huge favourite though : /
|
isnt russia like 9 hours ahead of EST? The majority of Empire will be playing around 8:00 am their time, which isnt TOO bad i guess...Poor naniwa though lol
|
sen is at disadvantage because of the new patch. Im looking forward for fenix vs naniwa.
p.s where is empire's team logo?
|
Beastyqt is really really good O_O... and I didn't know DieStar left empire?

No Kas in this sucks
Can't recall aristeo or frum doing much of note recently?
4am here so guess i won't be watching, kind of interesting to see how these team things do pan out though. Probably rests on how well beasty and nani play as to whether or not its close, but Fnatic have a really nice roster.
|
yeah, sad that their best player isn't playing.
|
Naniwa should win, but otherwise not looking too good for empire.
|

Beastyqt said he would crush Haypro; however, Haypro beat Beastyqt 2-1.

Yeah I would take a guess at Sen winning handily. Naniwa and Beastyqt should win for Empire so it might not as one sided as people expect.

did gretorp die? Haven't seen him play in anything
|
I'm wondering the same thing!!! :p
Also, Kas couldn't play because he's got some stuff in another city or something so couldn't be online
|

He's been doing a lot of casting. Dunno about playing in stuff.
|
haha you have demuslim's profile in frum's TLPD

He's been laddering, don't think he's dead
And no offense to Gretorp because he certainly is a good player but I wouldn't consider him one of the best on Fnatic so it's not really a surprise that he's not in the lineup.
|
Beasty and Naniwa have a shot. And then they have a shot at ace. Not going to be easy but it's possible!
|
Is Aristeo actually playing protoss? Seemed like he was favoring zerg while watching him in the GCPL Qualifying tournament.
|
Empire is such an underrated team. They'll blow your mind

he race picks based on map according to Empire manager. he plays P on blistering cuz its imba.
|
I watched Frum a while ago, but it was in BW (if this is still the same Frum, it was probably iccup clan league), he's not actually that bad, but not in the standard of Kas-Nani-Qt either. Naniwa and Beastyqt don't have the luxury of losing.
|

Is there any chance you'll upload the VOD's to somewhere more accessible seeing as most Europeans cannot be up at 4AM? Justin.tv seems to load really slowly and has no option of changing the quality, which my internet cannot support.

Hmm, we will look into this if it persists to be a big problem! I'll keep this in mind though, thanks for letting us know.

Thank god next matches will be broadcast at 20:00 CET. So far they were impossible to watch live for Europeans and even too late for some Americans I guess.
Btw people souldnt underestimate players just because they havent heard their name that often.

Fenix vs Naniwa is going to be ridiculously epic! Quite an awesome lineup! I wouldnt look past beastyqt - he is a pretty solid player.. Haypro beat him but it was a really close series..
Was really hoping to see Kas .. oh well
|
going to be hard to stay awake when i play ! but either way i hope im awake enough to show a good game :D good luck fnatic!.
|
Looking forward to these games!
GL to both

Unless it was a VOD and I couldn't tell I just saw Gretorp destroy Orb on ICCup moments ago.

Does this tournament intentionally don't care about the european teams ore is it just me? Let an European team play at 5 o clock in the morning (CET). So yeah this is going to be a crushing win for fnatic. Pfff please organisers really?
|
Bummer about Kas, he's my favorite newer player....super solid in everything and I think his MnM control vs storm is next level.

ah no kas =[ maybe naniwa + kas + naniwa ace could put up a good fight, but fnatic too imba ;P

Yes it is really stupid.
No it's not it ruines the competition, what is so difficult about having this tournament at like 6 in est, than it would be 12 o clock in eu. Isn't it healthier for the competition to have a bit of even rights? The eu players already have to face the lag on the na server I think with this they don't stand a chance.
|
If Kas was in, I would say Empire would most likely win. They aren't though so its probably going to go to ace os Fnatic will win.
|

Xeris took a lot of feedback from the teams in the league as well as the community before establishing this schedule. We did not take the decision when to schedule lightly.

We welcome suggestions of a start time that would work well for Korea, the U.S. and the EU. Right now, 11 p.m. EST is the best we could come up with.
Why does every match need to start at the same time? I mean now it is EU vs NA so around 5/6/7 pm est would be convenient for both.

The point is for us to be able to cast every match. I tried my best to schedule the EU teams on the weekend, but obviously its not going to be possible in every case. During the week, there's a bunch of stuff + day9 daily, so in order to maximize the views we are doing it at 11pm EST.

Go Fnatic! Excited for sen's game! :D
|
is this spouse to be starting?

3-0 Fnatic IMO, they really should have had Naniwa play earlier in the lineup, I think he can beat FENIX.

Fenix going 1-1-1, while Naniwa throws down two gateways before expanding and chronos his warpgates.
Naniwa cleverly warps a zealot in the backdoor of Fenix, while attacking up the front. Fenix walls off the zealot, and holds at his front with some scv overkill. A banshee comes out to kill off the zealot pressure at the backdoor.
|
wow rolled banshees didn't end up doing much
|
Philadelphia, PA10406 Posts
Naniwa has his expansion secured, and deflects some banshee pressure, taking out one banshee as it locks on a spotting pylon. Fenix masses marines and banshees off of one base, and then takes his expansion, but Naniwa moves in off of four warpgates, and just straight up wins the battle, forcing a quick gg.
|
So naniwa was boyardee?, he was first player to hit 3k and 4k on ladder then:D

And wp by Naniwa, really one of the strongest protoss out there. I am looking forward to some tournament wins by him. Shame for empire that in this tournament he can only play one game.

Sen expands after his pool finishes, while Aristeo tightens his ramp with a gateway. He tries to catch Sen's zerglings on the ramp with a FF, but misplaced it, and wastes the FF.
Aristeo throws down five warpgates, and Sen delays with zerglings, sniping a proxy-minded probe, and scouting a massed warp-in. Sen cutting drones to defend.
|
Philadelphia, PA10406 Posts
Sen uses a couple roaches and begins to pump zerglings, running the five gate into the ground. Aristeo keeps trying to put down a pylon, but Sen is sniping the probes and pylons religiously.
Sen puts his drones back on gas to start roach production again.

SEn holds off an amazing push from a 5gate attack! with almost purely speedling!

SEn going Aristeo's back rocks; Artisteo still on 1 base 5gates
|
Philadelphia, PA10406 Posts
More roaches out for Sen, and he pushes Aristeo's push back to the protoss base, then starts taking down the backdoor rocks.
Sen is droning again, while Aristeo gathers his forces together for a final push. Sen delays with zerglings, but he's getting massed roaches back at his natural.
Aristeo just gg's as soon as he sees the zerg army. (See post below)

yeah that was really weird, might as well just fight the last battle,

Sniping the probes and pylons was critical to holding off the 5-gate there. Great play by Sen.

Frum going four gate, with TT1 scouting three gates. TT1 goes for a three gate with a quick second gas.
TT1 marauding around the map with stalkers, picking off a probe at the watchtowers. Frum takes out his own back rocks, and sends two zealots to go kill off TT1's. Frum tries to break the front, but TT1 gets off a good FF, and takes the sting out of the attack.
Confusingly, Frum continues taking down TT1's rocks, which is odd, seeing as how TT1 now has an immortal and the larger army...

Beasty bringing four scvs along with four marines, and pushes along with his first hellion, but Kawaii defends with some strong micro. Beasty going for cloaked banshees, but Kawaii is already getting viking/raven, as well as a bunker at his front to defend against hellions.
Kawaii building his orbital in his main, while Beasty is building his cc at his natural, and will take his natural first.
|
Philadelphia, PA10406 Posts
Beasty brings a banshee into Kawaii's natural, which is chased away, but a second comes into the main and kills some scvs, and forces the pull. Kawaii brings his viking/raven over to defend that and the first banshee comes into the natural again. Kawaii kills that one with marines and scans, and takes out the second banshee with the viking after it scores a few more kills. Kawaii's push timing may have evaporated though.
We'll see, both move out at the same time, but neither wish to engage and both pull back.
|
|
Loving it. Great league/teams :D
|
3-0 prediction was spot-on I guess, except Naniwa actually played his game
|
Philadelphia, PA10406 Posts
Kawaii slow pushes across the high ground and uses his vikings to chase away Beasty's vision of the high ground, leaving his low ground tanks vulnerable. Kawaii gets a strong position on Beasty's natural, although he loses his viking, Beasty has no banshees left and cannot make much use of this.
Knowing he's in a desperate situation, Beasty pulls his scvs and moves in to attack, but Kawaii has much more of a better position and wins easily. Beasty gg's soon after.
3-1 Fnatic wins!
EDIT: Results look kinda confusing with the wrong order...
