There was a thread about how you could get slightly higher mineral per minute w/ a huge number of SCV's at an expo w/ 1 hex further CC, but the efficiency of each individual SCV was still quite a bit worse.

It's garbage for the players though, and therefore ultimately for the tournament. Same with the qualifiers, Scrap Station in Game 3 is just retarded, and definitely contributed to protoss's low representation.

It is only common sense you would get better efficiency per miner if you had an oversaturated base. Longer distance means more time traveling back and forth and not ping ponging on minerals.
Just like it would be better efficiency per worker to be 2 hexes away with even more saturation.
However, optimally you would not be oversaturated.

Haven't ever seen that face. For all his rage, Idra has been trained by CJ to NEVER LOSE CJ FACE (-_-). Even after getting cheesed by SeleCT out of Dallas, he tossed his headphones but didn't actually change expression.
